Effects of 1-methylcyclopropene on skin greasiness and quality of'yuluxiang'pear during storage at 20℃

During storage at 20℃,specific pear cultivars may exhibit a greasy texture and decline in quality due to fruit *** these varieties,‘yuluxiang’is particularly susceptible to peel greasiness,resulting in significant economic ***,there is an urgent need for a preservative that can effectively inhibit the development of *** studies have demonstrated the efficacy of 1-methylcyclopropene(1-MCP)in extending the storage period of *** hypothesize that it may also influence the occurrence of postharvest peel greasiness in the‘yuluxiang’*** this study,we treated‘yuluxiang’pears with *** stored them at 20℃while analyzing the composition and morphology of the surface waxes,recording enzyme activities related to wax synthesis,and measuring indicators associated with fruit storage quality and physiological *** results demonstrate that prolonged storage at 20℃leads to a rapid increase in skin greasiness,consistent with the observed elevations in L^(*),greasiness score,and the content of total wax and greasy wax ***,there were indications that cuticular waxes underwent melting,resulting in the formation of an amorphous *** comparison to controls,the application of 1-MCP significantly inhibited increments in L^(*) values as well as grease scores while also reducing accumulation rates for oily waxes throughout most stages over its shelf period,additionally delaying transitions from flaky-wax structures towards their amorphous *** the initial 7 d of storage,several enzymes involved in the biosynthesis and metabolism of greasy wax components,including lipoxygenase(LOX),phospholipase D(PLD),andβ-ketoacyl-CoA synthase(KCS),exhibited an increase followed by a subsequent *** activity of LOX during early shelf life(0–7 d)and the KCS activity during middle to late shelf life(14–21 d)were significantly suppressed by ***,1-MCP effectively maintained firmness,

Intermittent fasting can benefit breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy or ***,it is still uncertain how to select immunotherapy drugs to combine with intermittent *** we observed that two cycles of fasting treatment significantly inhibited breast tumor growth and lung tissue metastasis,as well as prolonged overall survival in mice bearing 4T1 and 4T07 breast *** this process,both the immunosuppressive monocytic-(M-)and granulocytic-(G-)myeloid-derived suppressor cell(MDSC)decreased,accompanied by an increase in interleukin(IL)7R^(+)and granzyme B^(+)T cells in the tumor ***,we observed that Ly6G^(low)G-MDSC sharply decreased after fasting treatment,and the cell surface markers and protein mass spectrometry data showed potential therapeutic *** investigation revealed that glucose metabolism restriction suppressed the splenic granulocytemonocyte progenitor and the generation of colony-stimulating factors and IL-6,which both contributed to the accumulation of *** the other hand,glucose metabolism restriction can directly induce the apoptosis of Ly6G^(low)G-MDSC,but not Ly6G^(high)*** summary,these results suggest that glucose metabolism restriction induced by fasting treatment attenuates the immune-suppressive milieu and enhances the activation of CD3^(+)T cells,providing potential solutions for enhancing immune-based cancer interventions.

Finite-temperature ductility-brittleness and electronic structures of Al_(3)Sc,Al_(2)Sc and AlSc are studied comparatively by first-principles calculations and ab initio molecular *** show that Al_(3)Sc and Al_(2)Sc are brittle at both ground state and finite temperatures,while AlSc possesses a significantly superior *** ground state,AlSc is ductile from Pugh's and Poisson's criteria,while it is brittle in Pettifor's *** ductility of all Al_(3)Sc,Al_(2)Sc and AISc improves greatly with the elevated ***,the Cauchy pressure of AlSc undergoes a transition from negative to *** T>600 K,AlSc is unequivocally classified as ductile from all criteria *** all compounds,the Al-Al bond originated from s-p and p-p orbital hybridizations,and the Al-Sc bond dominated by p-d covalent hybridization,are the first and second strongest chemical bonds,*** explain the difference in mechanical properties,the mean bond strength(MBS)is introduced in this *** weaker Al-Al bond in AlSc,leading to a smaller MBS,could be the origin of the softer elastic stiffness and superior intrinsic *** longer length of the Al-Al bond in AlSc is responsible for its weaker bond ***,the enhanced metallicity of the Al-Al bond in AlSc would also contribute to its exceptional *** longer length of the Al-Al bond in AISc is responsible for its weaker bond ***,the enhanced metallicity of the Al-Al bond in AlSc would also contribute to its exceptional ductility.

Evaluation of retinal and choroidal thickness changes in overweight and obese adults without ocular symptoms by swept-source optical coherence tomography

AIM:To evaluate the relationship of overweight and obesity with retinal and choroidal thickness in adults without ocular symptoms by swept-source optical coherence tomography(SS-OCT).METHODS:According to the body mass index(BMI)results,the adults enrolled in the cross-sectional study were divided into the normal group(18.50≤BMI<25.00 kg/m^(2)),the overweight group(25.00≤BMI<30.00 kg/m^(2)),and the obesity group(BMI≥30.00 kg/m^(2)).The one-way ANOVA and the Chi-square test were used for ***’s correlation analysis was used to evaluate the relationships between the measured ***:This research covered the left eyes of 3 groups of 434 age-and sex-matched subjects each:normal,overweight,and *** mean BMI was 22.20±1.67,26.82±1.38,and 32.21±2.35 kg/m^(2) in normal,overweight and obesity groups,*** choroid was significantly thinner in both the overweight and obesity groups compared to the normal group(P<0.05 for all),while the retinal thickness of the three groups did not differ ***’s correlation analysis showed that BMI was significantly negatively correlated with choroidal thickness,but no significant correlation was observed between BMI and retinal ***:Choroidal thickness is decreased in people with overweight or *** on changes in choroidal thickness contributes to the understanding of the mechanisms of certain ocular disorders in overweight and obese adults.

Copper oxide-modified highly reversible Zn powder anode for aqueous Zn metal batteries

With the advantages of mature preparation technology,structural adjustability and suitability for large-scale application,Zn powder anode is considered to be an ideal electrode for realizing low-cost,high-energy-density aqueous Zn metal ***,the high specific surface of Zn powders leads to severe side reactions such as hydrogen evolution and corrosion,thus limiting their widespread use Here,this work develops a novel CuO@Zn powder anode with a synergy effect of surface wrapping and *** powders are uniformly wrapped by small CuO particles due to the strong adsorption between Zn and *** wrapped CuO particles build a good conductive framework to inhibit the structural collapse of the Zn powder caused by corrosion and non-uniform ***,CuO can also be used as a seed to guide the uniform deposition of Zn ions through its strong binding energy with *** a result,the Cu O@Zn anode can maintain a long cyclic life of 900 h at current density of 1 mA·cm-2and capacity of 1 mAh·cm-2,as well as contribute to an excellent capacity retention of 92%after 800cycles for CuO@Zn||NH4V4O10full *** at high current density of 5 A·g-1,the full cell exhibits a specific capacity of more than 200 mAh·g-1after 800 cycles,with a good capacity retention of 89%.This work provides a new idea for developing high-performance Zn powder-based anodes.

Single thiolate replacement of metal nanoclusters

Surface thiolates play important roles in evincing the structures and properties of thiolated metal nanoclusters—one type of recently emerging inorganic-organic hybrids,and thus the thiolate substitution,especially single thiolate substitution,is highly desirable for subtly tailoring the structures and properties of metal ***,such a single-thiolate substituting is challenging,and its influence on the metal-metal and metal-sulfur bonds remains mysterious due to the absence of the singlethiolate-substituted ***,we developed a combined method,concurrently synthesized the single-thiolate-substituted nanocluster and its parent nanocluster,and successfully resolved their structures by single crystal X-ray crystallography,which reveals that the single thiolate substitute has an obvious influence on the metal-metal and metal-sulfur bond lengths although it has no effect on the absorption ***,the metal-metal and metal-sulfur bonds show various thermal extensibility and even the negative thermal expansion phenomena of the Au–S bond were observed in the single-thiolate-substituted *** bond length-related stability was also ***,this study highlights a novel synthesis method and offers novel structural insights and an in-depth structure-property correlation of thiolated metal nanoclusters.
