Acoustic topological adiabatic passage via a level crossing

Stimulated adiabatic passage has been extensively studied to achieve robust and selective population transfer in quantum systems. Recently, the quantum-classic analogy has been rapidly developing and can be considered responsible for the implementation of the adiabatic transfer of sound energy in cavity chain systems. In this article, we investigate the adiabatic transfer of sound energy between two topological end states in the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger(SSH) cavity chain, which can be considered to be the acoustic analog of the quantum chirped-pulse excitation. The topological adiabatic passage in SSH cavity chain has two categories. When the single-cavity resonance frequencies on the sublattices A and B in the SSH cavity chain do not switch their spectrum positions, the topologically protected adiabatic evolution results in the returning passage of the sound excited in one end cavity. When a level crossing with single-cavity resonance frequencies on the sublattices A and B exhibits switch in the frequency spectrum, acoustic energy is observed to be topologically pumped between the two end cavities of the SSH chain.

Self-supported hard carbon anode from fungus-treated basswood towards sodium-ion batteries

Hard carbon derived from biomass is regarded as a promising anode material for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)because of its low operating potential,high capacity,resource availability,and low ***,scientific and technological challenges still exist to prepare hard carbon with a high initial Coulombic efficiency(ICE),an excellent rate capability,and good cycling *** this work,we report a self-supported hard carbon electrode from fungus-pretreated basswood with an improved graphitization degree and a low *** with the hard carbon derived from basswood,the hard carbon electrode from fungus-pretreated basswood has an improved rate capability of 242.3 mAh·g^(−1)at 200 mA·g^(−1)and cycling stability with 93.9%of its capacity retention after 200 cycles at 40 mA·g^(−1),as well as the increased ICE from 84.3%to 88.2%.Additionally,ex-situ X-ray diffraction indicates that Na+adsorption caused the sloping capacity,whereas Na+intercalation between interlayer spacing corresponded to the low potential plateau *** work provides a new perspective for the preparation of high-performance hard carbon and gains the in-depth understanding of Na storage mechanism.

Construction of porous disc-like lithium manganate for rapid and selective electrochemical lithium extraction from brine

In order to satisfy the growing global demand for lithium, selective extraction of lithium from brine has attracted extensive attention. LiMn_(2)O_(4)-based electrochemical lithium recovery system is one of the best choices for commercial applications because of its high selectivity and low energy ***, the low ion diffusion coefficient of lithium manganate limits the further development of electrochemical lithium recovery system. In this work, a novel porous disc-like LiMn_(2)O_(4) was successfully synthesized for the first time via two-step annealing manganese(Ⅱ) precursors. The as-prepared LiMn_(2)O_(4) exhibits porous disc-like morphology, excellent crystallinity, high Li^(+)diffusion coefficient(average 7.6×10^(-9)cm^(2)·s^(-1)), high cycle stability(after 30 uninterrupted extraction and release cycles, the crystal structure hardly changed) and superior rate capacity(93.5% retention from 10-120 mA·g^(-1)). The porous structure and disc-like morphology further promote the contact between lithium ions and electrode materials. Therefore, the assembled electrochemical lithium extraction device with LiMn_(2)O_(4) as positive electrode and silver as negative electrode can realize the rapid and selective extraction of lithium in simulated brine(adsorption capacity of lithium can reach 4.85 mg·g^(-1) in 1 h). The mechanism of disc-like LiMn_(2)O_(4) in electrochemical lithium extraction was proposed based on the analysis of electrochemical characterization and quasi in situ XRD. This novel structure may further promote the practical application of electrochemical lithium extraction from brine.

Percutaneous transhepatic extraction and balloon dilation for simultaneous gallbladder stones and common bile duct stones:A novel technique

AIM To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of an innovative percutaneous transhepatic extraction and balloon dilation(PTEBD) technique for clearance of gallbladder stones in patients with concomitant stones in the common bile duct(CBD).METHODS The data from 17 consecutive patients who underwent PTEBD for clearance of gallbladder stones were retrospectively analyzed. After removal of the CBD stones by percutaneous transhepatic balloon dilation(PTBD), the gallbladder stones were extracted to the CBD and pushed into the duodenum with a balloon after dilation of the sphincter of Oddi. Large stones were fragmented using a metallic basket. The patients were monitored for immediate adverse events including hemorrhage, perforation, pancreatitis, and cholangitis. During the two-year follow-up, they were monitored for stone recurrence, reflux cholangitis, and other longterm adverse *** Gallbladder stones were successfully removed in 16(94.1%) patients. PTEBD was repeated in one patient. The mean hospitalization duration was 15.9 ± 2.2 d. Biliary duct infection and hemorrhage occurred in one(5.9%) patient. No severe adverse events, including pancreatitis or perforation of the gastrointestinal or biliary tract occurred. Neither gallbladder stone recurrence nor refluxing cholangitis had occurred two years after the *** Sequential PTBD and PTEBD are safe and effective for patients with simultaneous gallbladder and CBD stones. These techniques provide a new therapeutic approach for certain subgroups of patients in whom endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography/endoscopic sphincterotomy or surgery is not appropriate.

Influence of Al2O3 content on mechanical properties of silica-based ceramic cores prepared by stereolithography

Silica ceramic cores have played an important part in the manufacture of hollow blades due to their excellent chemical stability and moderate high-temperature mechanical properties. In this study, silica-based ceramics were prepared with Al2O3addition by stereolithography, and the influence of Al2O3content on mechanical properties of the silica-based ceramics was investigated. The Al2O3in silica-based ceramics can improve the mechanical properties by playing a role as a seed for the crystallization of fused silica into cristobalite. As a result, with the increase of Al2O3content, the linear shrinkage of the silica-based ceramics first decreased and then increased, while the room-temperature flexural strength and the high-temperature flexural strength first increased and then decreased. As the Al2O3content increased to 1.0 vol%, the linear shrinkage was reduced to 1.64% because of the blocked viscous flow caused by Al2O3. Meanwhile, the room-temperature flexural strength and the high-temperature flexural strength were improved to 20.38 and 21.43 MPa with 1.0 vol% Al2O3,respectively, due to the increased α-cristobalite and β-cristobalite content. Therefore, using the optimal content of Al2O3in silica-based ceramics can provide excellent mechanical properties, which are suitable for the application of ceramic cores in the manufacturing of hollow blades.

The high prevalence of depression among college students has a strong negative impact on individual physical and mental health,academic development,and interpersonal *** paper reviewed the extant literature by identifying nonpathological factors related to college students'depression,investigating the methods of predicting depression,and exploring nonpharmaceutical interventions for college students'*** influencing factors of college students'depression mainly fell into four categories:biological factors,personality and psychological state,college experience,and *** outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 has exacerbated the severity of depression among college students worldwide and poses grave challenges to the prevention and treatment of depression,given that the coronavirus has spread quickly with high infection rates,and the pandemic has changed the daily routines of college *** predict and measure mental health,more advanced methods,such as machine algorithms and artificial intelligence,have emerged in recent years apart from the traditional commonly used psychological *** nonpharmaceutical prevention measures,both general measures and professional measures for the prevention and treatment of college students'depression were examined in this *** who experience depressive disorders need family support and personalized interventions at college,which should also be supplemented by professional interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy and online *** this literature review,we insist that the technology of identification,prediction,and prevention of depression among college students based on big data platforms will be extensively used in the *** education institutions should understand the potential risk factors related to college students'depression and make more accurate screening and prevention available with the help of advanced technologies.

A universal simulating framework for quantum key distribution systems

Quantum key distribution(QKD) provides a physical-based way to conciliate keys between remote users securely. Simulation is an essential method for designing and optimizing QKD systems. We develop a universal simulation framework based on quantum operator descriptions of photon signals and optical devices. The optical devices can be freely combined and driven by the photon excitation events,which make it appropriate for arbitrary QKD systems in principle. Our framework focuses on realistic characters of optical devices and system structures. The imperfections of the devices and the non-local properties of a quantum system are taken into account when modeling. We simulate the single-photon and Hong-Ou-Mandel(HOM) interference optical units, which are fundamental of QKD systems. The results using this event-driven framework agree well with the theoretical results, which indicate its feasibility for QKD.
