The tube rotation method （TRM） refers to the rotational movement of steel tube about its axis as well as translation in rolling direction in stretch reducing rolling process. The influence of the TRM on transverse wall thickness precision of seamless steel tube was studied. Thickness distribution of the TRM was obtained by superimposing the thickened amount of single pass rolling. Results show that the TRM can effectively improve the evenness of thickness distribution. In order to analyze the influence mechanism of the TRM, the finite element method was adopted to simulate the thickness distribution in stretch reduction process. Results show that the TRM changes the roundtrip flow between two fix places of conventional stretch reducing and inhibits the directional accumulation of metal. In addition, the TRM has a correction effect on thickness cusp. All these advantages of the TRM help to improve the transverse wall thickness precision of seamless steel tube.

A series of TaVN-Ag nanocomposite films were deposited using a radio-frequency magnetron sputtering system. The micro- structure, mechanical properties, and tribological performance of the films were investigated. The results showed that TaVN-Ag films were composed of face-centered cubic （fcc） TaVN and fcc-Ag. With increasing Ag content, the hardness of TaVN-Ag composite films first in- creased and then decreased rapidly. The maximum hardness value was 31.4 GPa. At room temperature, the coefficient of friction （COF） of TaVN-Ag films decreased from 0.76 to 0.60 with increasing Ag content from 0 to 7.93at%. For the TaVN-Ag films with 7.93at% Ag, COF first increased and then decreased rapidly from 0.60 at 25℃ to 0.35 at 600℃, whereas the wear rate of the film increased continuously from 3.91 × 10^-7 to 19.1 × 10^7 mm3/（N·mm）. The COF of the TaVN-Ag film with 7.93at% Ag was lower than that of the TaVN film, and their wear rates showed opposite trends with increasing temperature.

To explore the kinetic adsorption under continuous and nonequilibrium states, an integration of continuous measurement and adsorption platform kinetics method was proposed, which was initially called the ICM-AP kinetics method, and a corresponding kinetic adsorption experimental method was developed. Adsorption experiments of europium(Eu) on Ca-bentonite,Na-bentonite, and the D231 cation exchange resin were performed using the ICM-AP kinetics method and continuous measurements. Because the kinetic experimental results observed in this study were different from those of traditional batch adsorption data, pseudo-first-order or pseudo-second-order kinetic models were unsuitable for fitting the experimental ***, a liquid membrane diffusion(LMD) model was developed based on the assumption of simultaneous adsorption/desorption to discuss the mechanism of kinetic adsorption. The kinetic adsorption mechanism was also studied by using *** results indicated that the proposed adsorption model can fit the experimental data more suitably, and the adsorption/desorption behaviors of Eu on bentonite and the D231 resin were simultaneously observed, suggesting that the adsorption kinetics of Eu(Ⅲ) was mainly dominated by hydrated Eu(Ⅲ) ions on the liquid membrane.

Chronic kidney disease(CKD)is an increasingly prevalent medical condition associated with high mortality and cardiovascular *** intricate interplay between kidney dysfunction and subsequent metabolic disturbances may provide insights into the underlying mechanisms driving CKD onset and ***,we proposed a large-scale plasma metabolite identification and quantification system that combines the strengths of targeted and untargeted metabolomics technologies,i.e.,widely-targeted metabolomics(WT-Met)***-Met method enables large-scale identification and accurate quantification of thousands of *** collected plasma samples from 21 healthy controls and 62CKD patients,categorized into different stages(22 in stages 1-3,20 in stage 4,and 20 in stage 5).Using LC-MS-based WT-Met approach,we were able to effectively annotate and quantify a total of 1431metabolites from the plasma *** on the 539 endogenous metabolites,we identified 399significantly altered metabolites and depicted their changing patterns from healthy controls to end-stage ***,we employed machine-learning to identify the optimal combination of metabolites for predicting different stages of *** generated a multiclass classifier consisting of 7 metabolites by machine-learning,which exhibited an average AUC of 0.99 for the test *** general,amino acids,nucleotides,organic acids,and their metabolites emerged as the most significantly altered ***,their patterns of change varied across different stages of *** 7-metabolite panel demonstrates promising potential as biomarker candidates for *** exploration of these metabolites can provide valuable insights into their roles in the etiology and progression of CKD.

Phenotypic analysis of a dwarf and deformed flower3 (ddf3) mutant in rice (Oryza sativa L.) and characterization of candidate genes

Dwarf mutants are the crucial resources for molecular biology research and rice breeding. Here, a rice mutant, dwarf and deformed flower3（ddf3）, was identified in tissue culture of Oryza sativa cv. Dongjin. Compared with wild type, the ddf3 mutant exhibited severe dwarfism, a greater number of tillers and significantly decreased fertility. In addition, leaf length, panicle length, and grain length, were significantly shorter. All internodes of ddf3 were shorter than those of wild type, and histological analysis revealed that internode cell elongation was significantly inhibited in ddf3. In the ddf3 mutant, pollen activity was significantly decreased, and the development of most stigmas was abnormal. Genetic analysis indicated that the ddf3 mutant phenotypes are controlled by a single or tightly linked nuclear genes. Using an F2 mapping population generated from a cross between ddf3 and Yangdao 6（9311）, the DDF3 gene was mapped to a 45.21-kb region between insertion-deletion（In Del） markers M15 and M16 on the long arm of chromosome 7. Sequencing revealed a 13.98-kbdeletion in this region in the ddf3 mutant genome that resulted in the complete or partial deletion of ZF（DHHC type zinc finger protein）, EP（expressed protein）, and FH2（actin-binding FH2 domain-containing protein） genes. Quantitative RT-PCR analyses revealed that in wild type, the transcript levels of FH2 were almost the same in all organs, while ZF was mainly expressed in the panicle, and no expression of EP was detected in any organ. Based on these results, ZF and FH2 could be potential DDF3 candidate genes involved in the regulation of rice morphology and flower organ development. Our work has laid the foundation for future functional analysis of these candidate genes and has provided a profitable gene resource for rice breeding for increased fertility in the future.

AIM:To report the myopia-controlling effect of repeated low-level red-light(RLRL)therapy in patients with Stickler syndrome(STL),an inherited collagenic disease typically presenting with early onset ***:Three STL children,aged 3,7,and 11y,received RLRL therapy throughout the follow-up period of 17,3,and 6mo,respectively after exclusion of fundus *** on best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA),intraocular pressure,cycloplegic subjective refraction,ocular biometrics,scanning laser ophthalmoscope,optical coherence tomography,genetic testing,systemic disease history,and family history were ***:At the initiation of the RLRL therapy,the spherical equivalent(SE)of 6 eyes from 3 patients ranged from-3.75 to-20.38 D,axial length(AL)were from 23.88 to 30.68 mm,and BCVA were from 0.4 to 1.0(decimal notation).Myopia progression of all six eyes slowed down after RLRL *** in five out of the six eyes shortened-0.07 to-0.63 *** side effects were ***:Three cases of STL whose progression of myopic shift and AL elongation are successfully reduced and even reversed after RLRL therapy.

As a promising and significant technology for hydrogen production,electrocatalytic water splitting is a research hotspot in the energy conversion field for alleviating the global energy crisis and achieving carbon neutrality ***-organic frameworks(MOFs)have been widely investigated as catalyst candidates with remarkable activity and long-term electrocatalysis durability owing to their precise and tailorable structures:tunable pore channels in the range of micropore/mesopore promote the mass/electron transfer;high specific surface areas expose abundant active species;modified metal nodes can serve as active sites;versatile organic ligands can be functionalized to further enhance the electrocatalytic *** this review,recent advances in the rational design and synthesis of advanced MOF electrocatalysts for water splitting are presented in the following ***,we analyze the design concepts of MOF electrocatalysts from the perspective of their distinct and modifiable ***,three common synthesis techniques of MOF electrocatalysts are briefly ***,we focus on the classification of different MOFs for robust electrocatalytic water splitting,including pristine MOFs,mixed-metallic MOFs,MOF nanosheets,electrically conductive MOFs,MOFs on substrates,and polyoxometalate-based ***,summary and outlook are proposed to uncover the next generation of advanced MOFs for electrochemical energy conversion applications.
