Sodium-based storage devices based on conversion-type metal sulfide anodes have attracted great atten-tion due to their multivalent ion redox reaction ***,they also suffer from sodium polysul-fides(NaPSs)shuttling problems during the sluggish Na^(+) redox process,leading to"voltage failure"and rapid capacity ***,a metal cobalt-doping vanadium disulfide(Co-VS_(2))is proposed to simulta-neously accelerate the electrochemical reaction of VS_(2) and enhance the bidirectional redox of soluble *** is found that the strong adsorption of NaPSs by V-Co alloy nanoparticles formed in situ during the conversion reaction of Co-VS_(2) can effectively inhibit the dissolution and shuttle of NaPSs,and ther-modynamically reduce the formation energy barrier of the reaction path to effectively drive the complete conversion reaction,while the metal transition of Co elements enhances reconversion kinetics to achieve high ***,Co-VS_(2) also produce abundant sulfur vacancies and unsaturated sulfur edge defects,significantly improve ionic/electron diffusion ***,the Co-VS_(2) anode exhibits ultrahigh rate capability(562 ma h g^(-1) at 5 A g^(-1)),high initial coulombic efficiency(~90%)and 12,000 ultralong cycle life with capacity retention of 90%in sodium-ion batteries(SIBs),as well as impressive energy/power density(118 Wh kg^(-1)/31,250 W kg^(-1))and over 10.000 stable cycles in sodium-ion hybrid capacitors(SIHCs).Moreover,the pouch cell-type SIHC displays a high-energy density of 102 Wh kg^(-1) and exceed 600 stable *** work deepens the understanding of the electrochemical reaction mechanism of conversion-type metal sulfide anodes and provides a valuable solution to the shuttlingofNaPSs inSIBsandSIHCs.

Sexual systems play important roles in angiosperm evolution and exhibit substantial variations among different floras. Thus, studying their evolution in a whole flora is crucial for understanding the formation and maintenance of plant biodiversity and predicting its responses to environmental change. In this study, we determined the patterns of plant sexual systems and their associations with geographic elements and various life-history traits in dry-hot valley region of southwestern China, an extremely vulnerable ecosystem. Of the 3166 angiosperm species recorded in this area, 74.5% were hermaphroditic,13.5% were monoecious and 12% were dioecious, showing a high incidence of diclinous species. Diclinous species were strongly associated with tropical elements, whereas hermaphroditic species were strongly associated with temperate and cosmopolitan elements. We also found that hermaphroditism was strongly associated with showy floral displays, specialist entomophily, dry fruits and herbaceous *** was strongly associated with inconspicuous, pale-colored flowers, generalist entomophily, fleshy fruits, and woody plants, whereas monoecy was strongly associated with inconspicuous, pale-colored flowers, anemophily, dry fruits, and herbaceous plants. In addition, hermaphroditic species with generalist entomophily tended to flower in the dry season, whereas diclinous species with specialist entomophily tended to flower in the rainy season. However, independent of sexual systems, plants that produce dry fruits tended to flower in the rainy season and set fruits in the dry season, but the opposite pattern was found for fleshy fruit-producing plants. Our results suggest that in the dry-hot valleys, plant sexual systems are associated with geographic elements as well as various life-history traits that are sensitive to environmental change.

The backreaming operation plays a significant role in safe drilling for horizontal wellbores, while it may cause severe stuck pipe accidents. To lower the risk of the stuck pipe in backreaming operations, the mechanism of cuttings transport needs to be carefully investigated. In this research, a transient cuttings transport with multiple flow patterns model is developed to predict the evolution of cuttings transported in the annulus while backreaming. The established model can provide predictions of the distribution of cuttings bed along the wellbore considering the bulldozer effect caused by large-size drilling tools(LSDTs). The sensitivity analyses of the size of LSDTs, and backreaming operating parameters are conducted in Section 4. And a new theory is proposed to explain the mechanism of cuttings transport in the backreaming operation, in which both the bit and LSDTs have the “cleaning effect” and “plugging effect”.The results demonstrate that the cuttings bed in annuli is in a state of dynamic equilibrium, but the overall trend and the distribution pattern are obvious. First, larger diameters and longer drilling tools could lead to a higher risk of the stuck pipe. Second, we find that it is not the case that the higher flow rate is always better for hole cleaning, so three flow-rate intervals are discussed separately under the given conditions. When the “dangerous flow rate”(borehole near the step surface and causes a stuck pipe directly. If the flow rate increases to the “low flow rate” interval(33-35 L/s in Case 4), a smaller flow rate instead facilitates borehole cleaning. If the flow rate is large enough to be in the “high flow rate” interval(>35 L/s in Case 4),the higher the flow rate, the better the cleaning effect of cuttings beds. Lung cancer remains the most common cause of cancer *** the continued research into new drugs and combination therapies,outcomes in lung cancer have been improved,and clinical benefits have been expanded to a broader patient ***,the overall cure and survival rates for lung cancer patients remain low,especially in metastatic *** the available lung cancer treatment options,such as surgery,radiation therapy,chemotherapy,targeted therapies,and alternative therapies,immunotherapy has shown to be the most *** exponential progress in immuno-oncology research and recent advancements made in the field of immunotherapy will further increase the survival and quality of life for lung cancer *** progress has been made in targeted therapies using tyrosine kinase inhibitors and monoclonal antibody immune checkpoint inhibitors with many US Food And Drug Administration(FDA)-approved drugs targeting the programmed cell death ligand-1 protein(e.g.,durvalumab,atezolizumab),the programmed cell death-1 receptor(e.g.,nivolumab,pembrolizumab),and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 4(e.g.,tremelimumab,ipilimumab).Cytokines,cancer vaccines,adoptive T cell therapies,and Natural killer cell mono-and combinational therapies are rapidly being studied,yet to date,there are currently none that are FDA-approved for the treatment of lung *** this review,we discuss the current lung cancer therapies with an emphasis on immunotherapy,including the challenges for future research and clinical applications.

With the concept of metamaterials introduced into integrated photonics,subwavelength structures have gained popularity for their ability to create devices with ultra-compact size,high performance,and versatile ***,traditional metamaterial design methods are usually based on empirical templates and physical approximations,lacking the ability to design free-form metamaterial structures and optimize entire devices *** this work,we propose a hierarchical inverse design approach that combines a conventional effective refractive index based metamaterial structures design with a follow-up global topology *** empirical metamaterial grating coupler design based on effective refractive index engineering faces inaccurate index extraction and insufficient approximation of wavevector matching conditions,which deteriorates coupling efficiency,especially for fully-etched devices with the decreased tapering ***,a subsequent overall topology optimization step can well compensate for the negative effect of the shrinking device footprint to increase the efficiency of the metamaterial grating *** demonstrate a 23μm×10μm ultra-compact metamaterial grating coupler with single-stepetched to couple light between a fiber and a 500 nm single-mode silicon waveguide in the *** measurement shows an insertion loss of 3.17 dB and a 3 dB bandwidth of 77 nm,making it the smallest footprint device ever reported.
