BACKGROUND Malignant peritoneal mesothelioma(MPM) is an extremely rare tumor with nonspecific clinical manifestations,which is extremely difficult to ***,we reported a case of MPM in the abdominal cavity with massive shortterm ascites as the first *** SUMMARY A 65-year-old woman presented to the hospital with abdominal pain,distention,and shortness of breath that persisted for 15 *** serum CA-125 level was 1075 U/m *** abdominal computed tomography showed massive ascites and no obvious tumor *** pathological examination of the ascitic fluid showed numerous heterotypic cells with some papillary *** immunohistochemistry and fluorescence in situ hybridization showed the deletion of CDX2(-),WT-1(-),Ki-67(about 10% +),CEA(-),Glut-1(+++),desmin(-),PD-L1(-),and CDKN2A(P16).The final diagnosis was *** patient refused tumor cytoreductive surgery and received two cycles of cisplatin plus pemetrexed bidirectional *** the second cycle,she received an additional cycle of hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy and immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy due to massive recalcitrant *** died of disease progression 2 mo after *** In case of massive unexplained ascites,the possibility of MPM should not be excluded to avoid misdiagnosis and delay in treatment.

Superior pancreatic lymphadenectomy with portal vein priority via posterior common hepatic artery approach in laparoscopic radical gastrectomy

Radiomics for predicting perineural invasion status in rectal cancer

BACKGROUND Gastrointestinal(GI)discomforts are common in the elderly population;however,whether such discomforts are associated with dietary intake has not been *** To evaluate GI discomforts in Chinese urban elders and the associated *** The gastrointestinal symptom rating scale(GSRS)was used to identify GI discomforts in 688 elders from eight cities of *** semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire and one time of 24 h dietary recall were used to access the food intake,identify dietary pattern,and calculate the nutrients *** About 83%of studied elders experienced at least one of GI discomforts in the past 6 mo;dyspepsia was the most commonly reported(66.7%),followed by reflux(44.8%),abdominal pain(35.9%),constipation(35.8%),and diarrhea(34.7%).Female gender,lower education level,and lower family income were associated with a higher GSRS *** who were diagnosed with a GI-related disease had a higher score of constipation,but a lower score of *** diseases were positively associated with certain GI *** dietary patterns were identified by the method of principal component analysis,which were characterized as high intake of salt and tea;more frequent intake of tubers,fruits,aquatic products,and soybeans;and high intake of cereal,vegetables,and meat,***,no associations between dietary patterns and GSRS score were *** elders with a higher GSRS score had significantly lower intake of bean *** elders whose GSRS score was≥21 and 18-20 decreased their bean production intake by 7.2(0.3,14.3)g/d and 14.3(1.2,27.3)g/d,respectively,compared with those who had a GSRS score≤*** were no differences in other food categories,calories,or nutrients intake among elders with different GSRS *** GI discomforts are common in Chinese urban *** discomforts might be associated with the choice of food.
