The solar-driven reduction of CO_(2. into valuable products is a promising method to alleviate global environmental problems and energy ***,the low surface charge density limits the photocatalytic conversion performance of CO_(2..Herein,a polymeric carbon nitride(PCN)photocatalyst with Zn single atoms(Zn1/CN)was designed and synthesized for CO_(2. *** results of the CO_(2. photoreduction studies show that the CO and CH_(4. yields of Zn1/CN increased fivefold,reaching 76.9 and 2..9μmol/(g·h),respectively,in contrast to the unmodified ***+plasma-etched X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and synchrotron radiation-based X-ray absorption fine structure results reveal that Zn single atom is mainly present in the interlayer space of PCN in the Zn–N_(4. *** characterizations indicate that the interlayer Zn–N_(4. configuration can amplify light absorption and establish an interlayer charge transfer ***-assisted Kelvin probe force microscopy confirms that more photogenerated electrons are delivered to the catalyst surface through interlayer Zn–N_(4. configuration,which increases its surface charge ***,in-situ infrared spectroscopy combined with density functional theory calculation reveals that promoted surface charge density accelerates key intermediates(*COOH)conversion,thus achieving efficient CO_(2. *** work elucidates the role of internal single atoms in catalytic surface reactions,which provides important implications for the design of single-atom catalysts.

Genetic Analysis of Structural Styles in the Makran Accretionary Wedge–Insight from Physical Simulations

The Makran accretionary wedge has the smallest subduction angle among any accretionary prism in the world. The factors controlling the spacing and morphological development of its deep thrust faults, as well as the formation mechanism of shallow normal faults, remain unclear. Meanwhile, the factors affecting the continuity of plane faults must be comprehensively discussed. Clarifying the development characteristics and deformation mechanisms of the Makran accretionary wedge is crucial to effectively guide the exploration of gas hydrate deposits in the area. This study aims to interpret seismic data to identify typical structures in the Makran accretionary wedge, including deep imbricate thrust faults, shallow and small normal faults, wedge-shaped piggyback basins, mud diapirs with fuzzy and disorderly characteristics of reflection, décollements with a northward tilt of 1° – 2., and large seamounts. Physical simulation-based experiments are performed to comprehensively analyze the results of the plane, section, and slices of the wedge. Results reveal that the distances between and shapes of thrust faults in the deep parts of the Makran accretionary wedge are controlled by the bottom décollement. The uplift of the thrust fault-related folds and the upwelling of the mud diapirs primarily contribute to the formation of small normal faults in the shallow part of the area. The mud diapirs originate from plastic material at the bottom, while those that have developed in the area near the trench are larger. Seamounts and mud diapirs break the continuity of fault plane distribution.

Geochemical and isotopic characteristics of volcanic rocks from the northern East China Sea shelf margin and the Okinawa Trough

Volcanic rocks both from the northern East China Sea （NECS） shelf margin and the northern Okinawa Trough are subalkaline less aluminous,and lower in High Field Strength Elements （HFSE）.These rocks are higher in Large Ion Lithophile Elements （LILE）,thorium and uranium contents,positive lead anomalies,negative Nb-Ta anomalies,and enrichment in Light Rare Earth Elements （LREE）.Basalts from the NECS shelf margin are akin to Indian Ocean Mid-Ocean Ridge Basalt （MORB）,and rhyolites from the northern Okinawa Trough have the highest 2.7 Pb/ 2.4.Pb and 2.8 Pb/ 2.4.Pb *** NECS shelf margin basalts have lower 87 Sr/ 86 Sr ratios,ε N d and σ 18 O than the northern Okinawa Trough silicic *** to 4. K– 4. Ar isotopic ages of basalts from the NECS shelf margin,rifting of the Okinawa Trough may have been active since at least {4.65–{4.86 *** origin of the NECS shelf margin basalt can be explained by the interaction of melt derived from Indian Ocean MORB-like mantle with enriched subcontinental *** basalts from both sides of the Okinawa Trough may have a similar origin during the initial rifting of the Okinawa Trough,and the formation of basaltic magmas closely relates to the thinning of continental *** source of the formation of the northern Okinawa Trough silicic rocks was different from that of the middle Okinawa Trough,which could have been generated by the interaction of basaltic melt with an enriched crustal *** the Ryukyu island arc to East China,the Cenozoic basalts have apparently increasing trends of MgO contents and ratios of LREE to Heavy Rare Earth Elements （HREE）,suggesting that the trace element variabilities of basalts may have been influenced by the subduction of the Philippine Sea plate,and that the effects of subduction of the Philippine Sea plate on the chemical composition of basaltic melts have had a decreasing effect from the Ryukyu island arc to East China.

Three standard minerals GA-1550 biotite,LP-6 biotite and Bern-4. muscovite used for K-Ar and Ar-Ar dating have been investigated by the single grain Rb-Sr *** to the K-Ar and Ar-Ar results previously reported,these mica standards nevertheless show complex characteristics in the Rb-Sr isotopic *** on eight individual grains of GA-1550 biotite gives a Rb-Sr isochron age of 98.7±1.9 Ma,consistent with previous dating results of the K-Ar and stepwise heating and laser ablation Ar-Ar *** evidence of the laser ablation Ar-Ar analyses in many previous studies demonstrates that LP-6 biotite is considerably inhomogeneous in the K-Ar isotopic system,Rb-Sr isotopic analyses on ten individual biotite grains show achievement of Sr isotopic equilibrium during crystallization.A Rb-Sr isochron age of 12..2.2.2.Ma calculated from the analytical results is concordant with those previously reported K-Ar and Ar-Ar ages obtained from c.{4. mg aliquots of biotite *** age reproducibility on Bern-4. muscovite was previously achieved by K-Ar and Ar-Ar dating by total fusion in c.{4. mg aliquots of muscovite grains,but single grain Rb-Sr analytical results in this study demonstrate considerable disequilibrium of Sr isotopic system during crystallization of *** discordance in the Rb-Sr and K-Ar isotopic systems of two standard minerals indicates complex factors that can influence isotopic disequilibrium of both isotopic systems.

Understanding the paleoenvironment and phytogeographical history of the Tibetan Plateau,China relies on discovering new plant *** Qaidam Basin has long been regarded as an ideal‘field laboratory’to investigate the paleoclimate and paleobiological evolution of the northern Tibetan ***,fossil angiosperms from the Qaidam Basin are rare,and our knowledge of its paleovegetation is ***,we report fossil leaves and fruits of Betulaceae found from the Oligocene Shangganchaigou Formation of northwestern Qaidam Basin(Huatugou area).Comparative morphological analysis led us to assign the fruits to the Betula subgenus Betula and the leaves to Carpinus *** findings,together with other reported fossil plants from the same locality,reveal a close floristic linkage between the Qaidam Basin and Europe during the *** northern pathway of this floristic exchange may have crossed through the Qaidam Basin during the late *** floristic linkage may have been facilitated by the continuous narrowing of the Turgai Strait and stronger westerlies,which transported moisture and provided favorable climatic ***,fossil plants collected from the Qaidam Basin suggest that during the Oligocene this region had warm and humid deciduous broad-leaf forest,which differs from the region’s modern vegetation and indicates that the Qaidam Basin may have been a suitable region for these plants to flourish and spread during the Oligocene.

Lisiguangite,CuPtBiS_3.a New Platinum-Group Mineral from the Yanshan Mountains,Hebei,China

Lisiguangite, CuPtBiS3. is a new mineral species discovered in a PEG-bearing, Co-Cu sulfide vein in garnet pyroxenite of the Yanshan Mountains, Chengde Prefecture, Hebei Province, China. It is associated with chalcopyrite and bornite, galena, minor pyrite, carrolite, molybdenite and the platinum-group minerals daomanite （CuPtAsS2., Co-bearing malanite （Cu（Pt, Co）2.4. sperrylite, moncheite, cooperite and malyshevite （CuPdBiS3., rare damiaoite （Pt2.n3. and yixunite （Pt3.n）. Lisiguangite occurs as idiomorphic crystals, tabular or lamellae （010） and elongated [100] or as aggregates, up to 2.mm long and 0.5 mm wide. The mineral is opaque, has lead-gray color, black streak and metallic luster. The mineral is non-fluorescent. The observed morphology displays the following forms： pinacoids {100}, {010}, {001}, and prism [110}. No twining is observed. The a：b：c ratio, calculated from unit-cell parameters, is 0.6010：1：0.3.3.. Cleavage： {010} perfect, {001} distinct, {100} may be visible. H Mohs： 2.1/2. VHN2.=4..7-4..8 （mean 4..3. kg/mm^2. Tenacity： brittle. Lisiguangite is bright white with a yellowish tint. In reflected light it shows neither internal reflections nor bireflectance or pleochroism. It has weak to moderate anisotropy （blue-greenish to brownish） and parallel-axial extinction. The reflectance values in air （and in oil） for R3. R4.and （^imR3. ^imR4., at the standard Commission on Ore Mineralogy wavelengths are： 3..5, 3..7 （2..4. 2..3. at 4.0nm; 3..6, 3..5 （2..6, 2..6） at 54.nm; 3..4. 3..5 （2..6, 2..7） at 589 nm and 4..3. 3..2.（2..7, 2..9） at 650 nm. The average of eight electron-microprobe analyses： Cu 12.98, Pt 3..04. Pd 2.69, Bi 3..65 and S 17.55, totaling 100.91%, corresponding to Cu1.10（Pt0.83. The study of extreme weather and space events has gained paramount importance in modern society owing to rapid advances in high *** and describing exceptional occurrences plays a crucial role in making decisive assessments of their potential impact on technical,economic,and social aspects in various *** research focuses on analyzing the hourly values of the auroral electrojet(AE)geomagnetic index from 1957 to 2.19 by using the peak over threshold method in extreme value *** fitting the generalized Pareto distribution to extreme AE values,shape parameter indices were derived,revealing negative values that establish an upper bound for this time ***,it became evident that the AE values had reached a plateau,suggesting that extreme events exceeding the established upper limit are *** a result,although the need for diligent precautions to mitigate the consequences of such extreme events persists,surpassing the upper limit of AE values becomes increasingly *** is also possible to observe an aurora in the middle-and low-latitude regions during the maximum period of the AE index.
