BACKGROUND Current medical treatments can achieve remission of ulcerative colitis (UC).Surgery is required when potent drug treatment is ineffective or when coloncancer or high-grade dysplasia develops. The standard procedure is restorativeproctocolectomy (RPC) with ileal pouch-anal anastomosis, commonly performedas two- or three-stage RPC with diverting ileostomy. Postoperative stoma outletobstruction (SOO) is frequent, but the causes are not well *** To identify the risk factors for SOO after stoma surgery in patients with *** We retrospectively reviewed the files of 148 consecutive UC patients whounderwent surgery with stoma construction. SOO was defined as small bowelobstruction symptoms and intestinal dilatation just below the penetrating part ofthe stoma on computed tomography. Patients were divided into two groups:Those who developed SOO within 30 d after surgery and those who did *** characteristics, intraoperative parameters, the stoma site, and rectusabdominis muscle thickness were collected. Compared to patients withoutSOO, patients with SOO had a significantly higher rate of malignant tumors ordysplasia (36.0% vs 17.1%, P = 0.032), lower total glucocorticoid dose one monthbefore surgery (0 mg vs 0 mg, P = 0.026), higher preoperative total protein level(6.8 g/dL vs 6.3 g/dL, P = 0.048), higher rate of loop ileostomy (88.0% vs 55.3%, P= 0.002), and higher maximum stoma drainage volume (2300 mL vs 1690 mL, P =0.004). BACKGROUND Endoscopic papillectomy(EP) for benign ampullary neoplasms could be a lessinvasive alternative to pancreatoduodenectomy(PD). There are some problems and limitations with EP. The post-EP resection margins of ampullary tumors are often positive or uncertain because of the burning effect of EP. The clinical outcomes of resected margin positive or uncertain cases after EP remain *** To investigate the clinical outcomes of resected margin positive or uncertain cases after *** Between January 2007 and October 2018, all patients with ampullary tumors who underwent EP at Kobe University Hospital were included in this study. The indications for EP were as follows: adenoma, as determined by preoperative endoscopic biopsy, without bile/pancreatic duct extension, according to endoscopic ultrasound or intraductal ultrasound. The clinical outcomes of resected margin positive or uncertain cases after EP were retrospectively *** Of the 45 patients, 29 were male, and 16 were female. The mean age of the patients was 65 years old. Forty-one patients(89.5%) underwent en bloc resection,and 4 patients(10.5%) underwent piecemeal resection. After EP, 33 tumors were histopathologically diagnosed as adenoma, and 12 were diagnosed as adenocarcinoma. The resected margins were positive or uncertain in 24 patients(53.3%). Of these cases, 15 and 9 were diagnosed as adenoma and adenocarcinoma, respectively. Follow-up observation was selected for all adenomas and 5 adenocarcinomas. In the remaining 4 adenocarcinoma cases,additional PD was performed. Additional PD was performed in 4 cases, and residual carcinoma was found after the additional PD in 1 of these cases. In the follow-up period, local tumor recurrence was detected in 3 cases. Two of these cases involved primary EP-diagnosed adenoma. The recurrent tumors were also adenomas detected by biopsy. An active stereo vision system based on a model of neural pathways of human binocular motor system is proposed. With this model, it is guaranteed that the two cameras of the active stereo vision system can keep their lines of sight fixed on the same target object during smooth pursuit. This feature is very important for active stereo vision systems, since not only 3D reconstruction needs the two cameras have an overlapping field of vision, but also it can facilitate the 3D reconstruction algorithm. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method, some software simulations are done to demonstrate the same target tracking characteristic in a virtual environment apt to mistracking easily. Here, mistracking means two eyes track two different objects separately. Then the proposed method is implemented in our active stereo vision system to perform real tracking task in a laboratory scene where several persons walk self-determining. Before the proposed model is implemented in the system, mistracking occurred frequently. After it is enabled, mistracking never occurred. The result shows that the vision system based on neural pathways of human binocular motor system can reliably avoid mistracking.

This study investigated the degradation of clofibric acid(CFA),bezafibrate(BZF),and sulfamethoxazole(SMX)in synthetic human urine using a novel mesoporous iron powderactivated persulfate system(mFe-PS system),and identified the factors limiting their degradation in synthetic human urine.A kinetic model was established to expose the radical production in various reaction conditions,and experiments were conducted to verify the modeling *** the phosphate-containing mFe-PS system,the 120 min removal efficiency of CFA decreased from 95.1%to 76.6%as the phosphate concentration increased from 0.32 to 6.45 mmol/L,but recovered to 90.5%when phosphate concentration increased to 16.10 mmol/***,the increased concentration of phosphate from 0.32 to 16.10mmol/L reduced the BZF degradation efficacy from 91.5%to 79.0%,whereas SMX removal improved from 37.3%to 62.9%.The m Fe-PS system containing(bi)carbonate,from 4.20 to166.70 mmol/L,reduced CFA and BZF removal efficiencies from 100%to 76.8%and 80.4%,respectively,and SMX from 83.5%to 56.7%within a 120-min reaction *** addition,alkaline conditions(pH≥8.0)inhibited CFA and BZF degradations,while nonacidic pH(pH≥7.0)remarkably inhibited SMX *** of the kinetic model indicated the formation of phosphate(H_(2)PO_(4)^(·)/HPO_(4)^(·-))and/or carbonate radicals(CO_(3)^(·-))could limit pharmaceutical *** transformation products(TPs)of the pharmaceuticals revealed more incompletely oxidized TPs occurred in the phosphate-and(bi)carbonate-containing m Fe-PS systems,and indicated that H_(2)PO_(4)^(·)/HPO_(4)^(·-)mainly degraded pharmaceuticals via a benzene ring-opening reaction while CO_(3)^(·-)preferentially oxidized pharmaceuticals via a hydroxylation reaction.

The discovery of a planetary companion to the intermediate-mass late-type giant star HD173416 from precise Doppler surveys of G and K giants at Xinglong station and Okayama Astrophysical Observatory （OAO） is presented in this letter. The planet has a minimum mass of 2.7 MJ, an eccentricity of 0.21, a semimajor axis of 1.16 AU and an orbital period of 324 days.

Field observation, petrological and geochemical characteristics of plagiogranite from Kuerti ophiolite indicate a similar origin to those in shearing zones. It isderived from partial melting of amphibolite that is developed from gabbro within the ocean layer 3 shear zone by the low-angle shearing deformation during the oceanic crustmigrating process. Zircon SHRIMP age of 372±19 Ma for the plagioganite from Kuerti ophiolite indicates that thisophiolite formed in the Devonian period and it alsorepresented the time of extension of the Kuerti backarc basin that is relevant to the northwards subduction of thePaleo-Asian oceanic crust. Therefore, the northwardssubduction of the Paleo-Asian Ocean beneath the Siberian Plate began in the early stage of the Late Paleozoic era.

Intravenous epoprostenol is recommended for World Health Organization functional class(WHO-FC) Ⅳ patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension(PAH) in the latest guidelines. However, in portopulmonary hypertension(PoP H) patients, advanced liver dysfunction and/or thrombocytopenia often makes the use of intravenous epoprostenol challenging. Here we report the cases of two WHO-FC Ⅳ PoP H patients who were successfully treated with a combination of two oral vasodilators used to treat PAH: ambrisentan and tadalafil. Oral vasodilator therapy using a combination of ambrisentan and tadalafil may be a safe and effective therapeutic option for WHO-FC Ⅳ PoP H patients and should be considered for selected patients with severe and rapidly progressing PoP H.
