Piezoelectricity offers an electromechanical coupling that is widely utilized in transducer *** has been a consistent demand for transparent piezoelectric materials for optoelectrical ***,despite the inherent tradeoff between the transparency and the piezoelectricity,numerous strategies have been explored to develop the transparent piezoelectric ***,the most transparent piezoelectric materials developed to date is either a single crystal or materials that achieve transparency via hot-press sintering,limiting its industrial ***,we introduce a novel piezoelectric material that ensures transparency through co-doping and pressureless sintering of polycrystalline *** this study,we employed a compositional optimization approach to enhance the synergistic effect between the transparency and the piezoelectric properties of 0.71Pb(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3)–0.29PbTiO_(3)(PMN–0.29PT)*** utilizing the tape casting process for mass production and large-area manufacturing,our Pb_(0.913)La_(0.0145)Sm_(0.0145)(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))_(0.71)Ti_(0.29)O_(3)(TP2.9)ceramics exhibited over 60%transparency and large piezoelectric coefficient(d33)of 1104 pC/*** material holds considerable promise for a wide range of industrial applications in both the optical and electronic domains.

To evaluate the role of high-dose dietary zinc in the process of prostate malignancy,60 Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups：tumor induction with carcinogen and hormone （group 1）,oral zinc administration without tumor induction （group 2）,oral zinc administration with tumor induction （group 3） and a control without zinc administration or tumor induction （group 4）. Zinc was supplied orally in the form of zinc sulfate heptahydrate dissolved in drinking water to groups 2 and 3 for 20 weeks. Although the serum level of zinc measured at 20 weeks was maintained similarly in each group （P = 0.082）,intraprostatic zinc concentrations were statistically different. Group 1 prostates contained the least amount of zinc in both the dorsolateral and ventral lobes at levels of 36.3 and 4.8 μg g^-1,respectively. However,in group 3,zinc levels increased in both lobes to 59.3 and 12.1 μg g^-1,respectively,comparable with that of group 4 （54.5±14.6 and 14.1±2.4 μg g^-1）. In spite of these increases in zinc concentration,the prevalence of prostate intraepithelial neoplasm was rather increased in group 3 （53.3% and 46.7%） compared with group 1 （33.3% and 33.3%） in both dorsolateral and ventral prostate lobes. Although prostate intraepithelial neoplasm did not develop in any prostate in group 4,zinc administration did induce prostate intraepithelial neoplasm in group 2 （46.7% and 40.0%）. Thus,although high dietary zinc increased intraprostatic zinc concentrations,it promoted,instead of preventing,prostate intraepithelial neoplasm in a murine prostate malignancy induction model.

Two-dimensional materials represent a major frontier for research into exotic many-body quantum phenomena. In the extreme two-dimensional limit, electron-electron interaction often dominates over other electronic energy scales, leading to strongly correlated effects such as quantum spin liquid and unconventional *** dominance is conventionally attributed to the lack of electron screening in the third dimension. Here, we discover an intriguing metal to Mott insulator transition in 1T-TaSe2that defies conventional wisdom. Specifically, we find that dimensionality crossover, instead of reduced screening, drives the transition in atomically thin 1T-TaSe2. A dispersive band crossing the Fermi level is found to be responsible for the bulk metallicity in the material. Reducing the dimensionality,however, effectively quenches the kinetic energy of these initially itinerant electrons, and drives the material into a Mott insulating *** dimensionality-driven metal to Mott insulator transition resolves the long-standing dichotomy between metallic bulk and insulating surface of 1T-TaSe2. Our work further reveals a new pathway for modulating two-dimensional materials that enables exploring strongly correlated systems across uncharted parameter space.

This review provides a comprehensive overview of the progress in light-material interactions(LMIs),focusing on lasers and flash lights for energy conversion and storage *** discuss intricate LMI parameters such as light sources,interaction time,and fluence to elucidate their importance in material *** addition,this study covers various light-induced photothermal and photochemical processes ranging from melting,crystallization,and ablation to doping and synthesis,which are essential for developing energy materials and ***,we present extensive energy conversion and storage applications demonstrated by LMI technologies,including energy harvesters,sensors,capacitors,and *** the several challenges associated with LMIs,such as complex mechanisms,and high-degrees of freedom,we believe that substantial contributions and potential for the commercialization of future energy systems can be achieved by advancing optical technologies through comprehensive academic research and multidisciplinary collaborations.

Fireworks(FW)could significantly worsen air quality in short term during *** to similar tracers with biomass burning(BB),the fast and precise qualification of FW and BB is still *** this study,online bulk and single-particle measurements were combined to investigate the contributions of FW and BB to the overall mass concentrations of PM_(2.5)and specific chemical species by positive matrix factorization(PMF)during the Chinese New Year in Hong Kong in February *** combined information,fresh/aged FW(abundant ^(140)K_(2)NO_(3)^(+)and ^(213)K_(3)SO_(4)^(+)formed from ^(113)K_(2)Cl^(+)discharged by fresh FW)can be extracted from the fresh/aged BB sources,in addition to the Second Aerosol,Vehicles+Road Dust,and Sea Salt *** contributions of FW and BB were investigated during three high particle matter episodes influenced by the pollution transported from the Pearl River Delta *** fresh BB/FW contributed 39.2%and 19.6%to PM_(2.5)during the Lunar Chinese New Year ***,the contributions of aged FW/BB enhanced in the last two episodes due to the aging process,evidenced by high contributions from secondary ***,the fresh BB/FW showed more significant contributions to nitrate(35.1%and15.0%,respectively)compared with sulfate(25.1%and 5.9%,respectively)and OC(14.8%and11.1%,respectively)on *** comparison,the aged FW contributed more to sulfate(13.4%).Overall,combining online bulk and single-particle measurement data can combine both instruments’advantages and provide a new perspective for applying source apportionment of aerosols using PMF.

There are only eight approved small molecule antiviral drugs for treating *** them,four are nucleotide analogues(remdesivir,JT001,molnupiravir,and azvudine),while the other four are protease inhibitors(nirmatrelvir,ensitrelvir,leritrelvir,and simnotrelvir-ritonavir).Antiviral resistance,unfavourable drug‒drug interaction,and toxicity have been reported in previous *** there is a dearth of new treatment options for *** this work,a three-tier cell-based screening was employed to identify novel compounds with anti-SARS-CoV-2 *** compound,designated 172,demonstrated broad-spectrum antiviral activity against multiple human pathogenic coronaviruses and different SARS-CoV-2 variants of *** studies validated by reverse genetics showed that compound 172 inhibits the 3-chymotrypsin-like protease(3CLpro)by binding to an allosteric site and reduces 3CLpro dimerization.A drug synergistic checkerboard assay demonstrated that compound 172 can achieve drug synergy with nirmatrelvir in *** vivo studies confirmed the antiviral activity of compound 172 in both Golden Syrian Hamsters and K18 humanized ACE2 ***,this study identified an alternative druggable site on the SARS-CoV-23CLpro,proposed a potential combination therapy with nirmatrelvir to reduce the risk of antiviral resistance and shed light on the development of allosteric protease inhibitors for treating a range of coronavirus diseases.

AIM: To investigate treatment outcome of Helicobacter pylori (*** )-negative low-grade gastric mucosaassociated lymphoid tissue (MALT) ***: In this study,we retrospectively reviewed the clinical outcome and clinicopathologic factors of stage Ⅰ E *** -negative low-grade gastric MALT lymphoma cases from August 1998 to June ***: A total of eleven patients with *** -negative low-grade gastric MALT lymphoma were enrolled in the study and received *** eradication treatment and/or radiotherapy or excisional *** remission (CR) of gastric MALT lymphoma was achieved in all *** time to CR was 1-66 mo (median,1 mo).CONCLUSION: Eradication therapy may be offered as an initial treatment option even in cases of localized *** -negative gastric MALT lymphoma.

We evaluated whether the prostate-specific antigen (PSA)mass or free PSA (fPSA)mass (i.e.,absolute amount of total circulating PSA or fPSA protein,respectively),versus serum PSA or fPSA concentration,improves the accuracy of predicting the total prostate volume (TPV)in relation to *** men whose multicore (≥12)transrectal prostate biopsy was negative,586 who had a PSA of <10 ng ml^-1 and underwent the fPSA test prior to biopsy were *** PSA mass or fPSA mass (pg)was calculated by multiplying the serum level by plasma *** each TPV cut-off point (30 ml,40 ml,and 50 ml),the areas under the receiver operating characteristics curve (AUCs)of each variable were compared in obesity-based *** of fPSA and fPSA mass for predicting TPV were significantly larger than those for PSA and PSA mass by 8.7%-12.1%at all cut-off points. Subgroup analyses based on obesity showed that,although PSA mass and fPSA mass enhanced accuracy by 4%(P =0.031)and 1.8%(P =0.003),respectively,for determining TPVs of ≥30 ml and ≥50 ml in obese and overweight men,they did not improve the accuracy in most other combinations of the degrees of obesity with TPV cut-off ***,compared with serum PSA or fPSA,the absolute amount of PSA or fPSA protein mass improved the accuracy of predicting TPV in obese men very minimally and only for certain TPV cut-off ***,these indicators may not provide clinically meaningful improvement in predicting TPV in obese men.
