Type I interferon pathway in pediatric systemic lupus erythematosus

Background The role of type I interferon(IFN-I)signaling in systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)has been well ***,unanswered questions remain regarding the applicability of these findings to pediatric-onset *** aim of this review is to provide an overview of the novel discoveries on IFN-I signaling in pediatric-onset *** sources A literature search was conducted in the PubMed database using the following keywords:“pediatric systemic lupus erythematosus”and“type I interferon”.Results IFN-I signaling is increased in pediatric SLE,largely due to the presence of plasmacytoid dendritic cells and pathways such as cyclic GMP-AMP synthase–stimulator of interferon genes–TANK-binding kinase 1 and Toll-like receptor(TLR)4/*** extracellular traps and oxidative DNA damage further stimulate IFN-I *** variants in IFN-I-related genes,such as IFN-regulatory factor 5 and tyrosine kinase 2,are linked to SLE susceptibility in pediatric *** addition,type I interferonopathies,characterized by sustained IFN-I activation,can mimic SLE symptoms and are thus important to *** on interferonopathies also contribute to exploring the pathogenesis of *** IFN-I activation is crucial for SLE diagnosis and *** IFNstimulated gene expression and serum IFN-α2 levels are common *** cytometry markers such as CD169 and galectin-9 are promising ***-IFN therapies,such as sifalimumab and anifrolumab,show promise in adult patients with SLE,but their efficacy in pediatric patients requires further *** kinase inhibitors are another treatment option for severe pediatric SLE *** This review presents an overview of the IFN-I pathway in pediatric *** the intricate relationship between IFN-I and pediatric SLE may help to identify potential diagnostic markers and targeted therapies,paving the way for improved patient care and outcomes.

Neuroprotective effects of acteoside in a glaucoma mouse model by targeting Serta domain-containing protein 4

AIM:To explore the therapeutic effect and main molecular mechanisms of acteoside in a glaucoma model in DBA/2J ***:Proteomics was used to compare the differentially expressed proteins of C57 and DBA/2J *** acteoside administration in DBA/2J mice,anterior segment observation,intraocular pressure(IOP)monitoring,electrophysiology examination,and hematoxylin and eosin staining were used to analyze any potential ***(IHC)assays were used to verify the proteomics ***,retinal ganglion cell 5(RGC5)cell proliferation was assessed with cell counting kit-8(CCK-8)*** domain-containing protein 4(Sertad4)mRNA and protein expression levels were measured by qRT-PCR and Western blot analysis,***:Proteomics analysis suggested that Sertad4 was the most significantly differentially expressed *** with the saline group,the acteoside treatment group showed decreased IOP,improved N1-P1 wave amplitudes,thicker retina,and larger numbers of cells in the ganglion cell layer(GCL).The IHC results showed that Sertad4 expression levels in DBA/2J mice treated with acteoside were significantly lower than in the saline *** treatment could improve RGC5 cell survival and reduce the Sertad4 mRNA and protein expression levels after glutamate ***:Sertad4 is differentially expressed in DBA/2J *** can protect RGCs from damage,possibly through the downregulation of Sertad4,and has a potential use in glaucoma treatment.

Multi-Scale Fusion Model Based on Gated Recurrent Unit for Enhancing Prediction Accuracy of State-of-Charge in Battery Energy Storage Systems

Accurate prediction of the state-of-charge(SOC)of battery energy storage system(BESS)is critical for its safety and lifespan in electric *** overcome the imbalance of existing methods between multi-scale feature fusion and global feature extraction,this paper introduces a novel multi-scale fusion(MSF)model based on gated recurrent unit(GRU),which is specifically designed for complex multi-step SOC prediction in practical *** correlation analysis is first employed to identify SOC-related *** parameters are then input into a multi-layer GRU for point-wise feature ***,the parameters undergo patching before entering a dual-stage multi-layer GRU,thus enabling the model to capture nuanced information across varying time ***,by means of adaptive weight fusion and a fully connected network,multi-step SOC predictions are *** extensive validation over multiple days,it is illustrated that the proposed model achieves an absolute error of less than 1.5%in real-time SOC prediction.

Key processes of carbon cycle and sink enhancement paths in natural wetland ecosystems in China

Wetland ecosystems have become one of the long-term solutions for mitigating global climate change due to their strong carbon sequestration ***,the key carbon cycle processes in wetland ecosystems still lack a systematic *** the context of wetland protection and restoration,there is still a lack of consensus on the technical pathways to realize carbon sink multiplication in wetland *** this paper,the key processes of carbon cycle,such as photosynthetic carbon uptake,microbial carbon decomposition and carbon deposition and burial,are sorted out and summarized in four major wetland types,namely,swamp and peat wetlands,river and riparian wetlands,lake and lakeshore wetlands,and estuarine and coastal *** on the key processes of carbon cycle,three technological pathways for carbon sink multiplication are proposed,including,vegetation carbon sequestration and sink enhancement technology,soil carbon emission reduction technology and carbon deposition and burial *** key technologies under each pathway are further *** the carbon sink effects of the carbon sink technologies in different wetland types are qualitatively ***,wetland protection and restoration methods in corresponding regions are given in the light of the regional characteristics of wetlands in *** will provide a scientific basis for the strategy of doubling the carbon sinks of China′s wetland ecosystems.

Steel-refractory reactions in lanthanum-,cerium-,and ytrium-added steels

A systematic experimental study was conducted on the similarities and differences in the reactions between commonly used rare earth elements(REEs)and frequently used refractories in the steelmaking *** results indicate that the reaction behaviors of La,Ce,and Y with MgO,Al_(2)O_(3),and MgO·Al_(2)O_(3) crucibles differed *** consumption rates of La,Ce,and Y in the molten steel were in descending order of La>Ce>Y for smelting with all three kinds of *** the REEs reacted with the crucible,the contents of Mg and Al showed a trend of first increasing and then *** laboratory-scale smelting conditions,the reactions related to REEs were dominated by steel-crucible reactions,and the contact area between the unit mass of molten steel and refractory materials mainly determined the consumption rates of ***-and Ce-crucible reactions generated loose and porous reaction interfaces;however,Y-crucible reactions generated a dense Y_(2)O_(3) layer,dramatically suppressing the consumption rate of *** calculation indicated that the reactions between rare earth and different refractory materials were first-order *** crucible materials significantly affected the product type and morphology of the steel-crucible reaction interfaces,thereby influencing the consumption rate of *** reactions between REEs and refractories must be seriously considered,especially for small-scale smelting.

Learning and inferring underlying motion patterns of captured 2D scenes and then re-creating dynamic evolution consistent with the real-world natural phenomena have high appeal for graphics and *** bridge the technical gap between virtual and real environments,we focus on the inverse modeling and reconstruction of visually consistent and property-verifiable oceans,taking advantage of deep learning and differentiable physics to learn geometry and constitute waves in a self-supervised ***,we infer hierarchical geometry using two networks,which are optimized via the differentiable *** extract wave components from the sequence of inferred geometry through a network equipped with a differentiable ocean ***,ocean dynamics can be evolved using the reconstructed wave *** extensive experiments,we verify that our new method yields satisfactory results for both geometry reconstruction and wave ***,the new framework has the inverse modeling potential to facilitate a host of graphics applications,such as the rapid production of physically accurate scene animation and editing guided by real ocean scenes.

Efficient synthesis of bottle-brush polymers enabled by selective photoactivation strategy in NIR-induced PET-RAFT polymerization

Bottle-brush polymers possessing densely grafted side chains have special properties that are distinct from linear ***,an efficient method for preparing bottle-brush polymers based on a selective photoactivation strategy in the photoinduced electron/energy transfer reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer(PET-RAFT)polymerization was developed.A methacrylate monomer 2-(2-(dodecylthiocarbonothioylthio)propionate)ethyl methacrylate(DTPEMA)containing a 2-(dodecylthiocarbonothioylthio)propionate(DTP)unit with a secondary R group was *** the unique selectivity of metal naphthalocyanine photocatalyst zinc 2,11,20,29-tetra-tert-butyl-2,3-naphthalocyanine(ZnTtBNc)toward trithiocarbonate with tertiary R group,the PET-RAFT polymerization of DTPEMA catalyzed by ZnTtBNc was performed under near infrared(NIR)light(λ_(max)=760 nm)irradiation at room temperature,using 4-cyano-4-[(dodecylsulfanylthiocarbonyl)-sulfanyl]pentanoic acid(CDTPA)with a tertiary R group as a chain transfer agent(CTA).Proton nuclear magnetic resonance(1H NMR)and gel permeation chromatography(GPC)results demonstrated that the DTP units in the side chains were inert during the *** grafting poly(methyl acrylate)(PMA)from PDTPEMA via thermal-initiated RAFT polymerization,welldefined P(DTPEMA-g-PMA)bottle-brush polymers could be ***,the film prepared from the bottle-brush polymer exhibited excellent scratch self-healing property due to the interlocking of side chains.

Exploring the role of interleukin-6 receptor blockade in epilepsy and associated neuropsychiatric conditions through a mendelian randomization study

BACKGROUND The interplay between inflammation,immune dysregulation,and the onset of neurological disorders,including epilepsy,has become increasingly ***(IL)-6,a pro-inflammatory cytokine,is suspected to not only mediate traditional inflammatory pathways but also contribute to neuroinflammatory responses that could underpin neuropsychiatric symptoms and broader psychiatric disorders in epilepsy *** role of IL-6 receptor(IL6R)blockade presents an intriguing target for therapeutic intervention due to its potential to attenuate these *** conditions due to *** Mendelian randomization(MR)analysis employing single nucleotide poly-morphisms(SNPs)in the vicinity of the IL6R gene(total individuals=408225)was used to evaluate the putative causal relationship between IL6R blockade and epilepsy(total cases/controls=12891/312803),focal epilepsy(cases/controls=7526/399290),and generalized epilepsy(cases/controls=1413/399287).SNP weights were determined by their effect on C-reactive protein(CRP)levels and integrated using inverse variance-weighted meta-analysis as surrogates for IL6R *** address potential outlier and pleiotropic influences,sensitivity analyses were conducted employing a variety of MR methods under different modeling *** The genetic simulation targeting IL6R blockade revealed a modest but significant reduction in overall epilepsy risk[inverse variance weighting:Odds ratio(OR):0.827;95%confidence interval(CI):0.685-1.000;P=0.05].Subtype analysis showed variability,with no significant effect observed in generalized,focal,or specific childhood and juvenile epilepsy *** the primary inflammatory marker CRP,the findings also suggested potential non-inflammatory pathways mediated by IL-6 signaling contributing to the neurobiological landscape of epilepsy,hinting at possible links to neuroinflammation,psychiatric symptoms,and associated mental *** The i
