Aggressive posterior retinopathy of prematurity(ROP), previously referred to as "Rush disease", is a rapidly progressive form of ROP. This form of ROP typically presents in very low birth weight babies of early gestational age. Historically, anatomical and functional outcomes have been poor with standard treatment. This review is designed to discuss current knowledge and treatment regarding this aggressive form of ROP. Recommendations regarding management of these difficult cases are detailed.

In the search for new materials with applicable magnetic properties in spintronic devices,the aim of this work is to report the synthesis of the lanthanide ferrocobaltite La_(2)CoFeO_(6) using the modified Pechini route;the experimental study of structural,morphological and magnetic properties,and the analysis of the electronic structure and bands are obtained in the framework of the Density Functional *** refinement of experimental X-ray diffraction patterns revealed the crystallization of this oxide material in a perovskite-like monoclinic structure,space group P2_(1)/n(#14).Scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy images revealed that the surface morphology is essentially polycrystalline,with mean grain sizes between 177 and 188 *** dispersive X-ray spectroscopy suggests that the material obtained contains La,Fe,Co and O in the stoichiometric proportions expected by up to 98%.The magnetic susceptibility curves as a function of temperature indicated that the material is ordered ferromagnetically,showing strong irreversibility effects due to the disorder of the Fe and Co cations in the three crystallographic directions of the structure and to the strong distortions in the FeO_(6) and CoO_(6) *** hysteresis curves confirmed the ferromagnetic character of the material for all temperatures evaluated,up to room temperature.I-V response curves revealed a semiconductor-like behavior with a figure of merit exponent 1.53 of the varistor *** ferromagnetic semiconductor behavior suggests the potential applicability of the material in spintronic technological devices.

Isoprenoids are a hugely diverse family of compounds derived from the C5 precursors isopentenyl diphosphate （IPP） and dimethylallyl diphosphate （DMAPP）. Although all free-living organisms synthesize isoprenoids, they are particularly abun- dant and diverse in plants, with tens of thousands structures known to date. The highest variety of plant isoprenoids are specialized （secondary） metabolites that participate in the interaction of plants with their environment. These include pigments, volatiles, and defense compounds, some of which have applications in industry and agriculture.

background While diffuse atherosclerotic disease affecting the posterior circulation has been described extensively,the prevalence,natural history and angiographic characteristics of isolated symptomatic basilar artery stenosis(ISBAS)remain *** We reviewed our prospective institutional database to identify patients with≥50% symptomatic basilar artery(BA)stenosis without significant atherosclerotic burden in the vertebral or posterior cerebral *** mechanism,collateral circulation,and degree and length of stenosis were *** primary outcome was time from index event to new transient ischaemic attack(TIA),acute ischaemic stroke(AIS)or *** outcome variables included modified Rankin Scale(mRS)score on discharge and last *** Of 6369 patients with AIS/TIA,91(1.43%)had ***-three(80.2%)patients presented with AIS and 18(19.8%)with ***-nine(31.9%)were women and the median age was 66.8±13.6 *** mean follow-up time was 2.7 *** most common stroke mechanism was artery-to artery thromboembolism(45.2%),followed by perforator occlusion(28.7%)and flow-dependent/hypoperfusion(15.1%).The percentage of stenosis was lower in patients who had favourable outcome compared with those with mRS 3-6 on discharge(78.3±14.3 vs 86.9±14.5,p=0.007).Kaplan-Meier curves showed higher recurrence/death rates in patients with≥80% stenosis,mid-basilar location and poor collateral *** 13% of patients with ISBAS presented with complete BA *** ISBAS is an uncommon(1.43%)cause of TIA and *** in their 60s are mostly affected,and artery-to artery embolism is the most common stroke ***-basilar location,≥80% stenosis and poor collateral circulation are important factors associated with worse prognosis.

The Inca peanut, a plant native to the Peruvian Amazon, has an important nutritional contribution to 53% oil and 33% protein [ 1, 2], high content of Omega 3 and 6, Vitamin E. Recent research suggests the nutritional and therapeutic significance of consumption for the control of free radicals [3], being an alternative food to reduce nutritional deficiencies of macro and micronutrients in the diet. The results show that the cheese made from a mixture of milk and Inca peanut （70：20 v/v） 0.15 M of Ca sulphate is of firm consistency, with a clotting time of 9 min and yields 14.56% at 80 ℃, is similar to fresh milk cheese sensory characteristics determined by the test of acceptability. Respect to nutrition cheeses present values of protein and fat （16.3% and, 25.05%, respectively）. Sensory evaluation process cheese 70：30 v/v showed an acceptance of 67% relative to a commercial cheese. The texture profile of the finished product, applying a deformation of 30%, have hardness values for 1.88 N, elasticity 0.08, cohesiveness 0.86, adhesiveness 0.36, gumminess 1.62 and chewiness 0.13.

The conditions under which different migration patterns evolved have constantly been changing. Therefore, migratory behavior has always been subject to evolutionary change. At present, this is becoming particularly apparent as rapid climatic wanning is causing major shifts in avian migration patterns. Here, I shall review recent work on genetic variation, changes and constraints on the evolution of migratory behavior, and discuss their implications for adaptive evolution of avian migration.

Chloroplast 2-Cys peroxiredoxins （2-Cys Prxs） are efficiently reduced by NADPH Thioredoxin reductase C （NTRC）. To investigate the effect of light/darkness on NTRC function, the content of abundant plastidial enzymes, Rubisco, glutamine synthetase （GS）, and 2-Cys Prxs was analyzed during two consecutive days in Arabidopsis wild-type and ntrc mutant plants. No significant difference of the content of these proteins was observed during the day or the night in wildtype and mutant plants. NTRC deficiency caused a lower content of fully reduced 2-Cys Prxs, which was undetectable in darkness, suggesting that NTRC is the most important pathway for 2-Cys Prx reduction, probably the only one during the night. Arabidopsis contains two plastidial 2-Cys Prxs, A and B, for which T-DNA insertion lines were characterized showing the same phenotype as wild-type plants. Two-dimensional gel analysis of leaf extracts from these mutants allowed the identification of basic and acidic isoforms of 2-Cys Prx A and B. In-vitro assays and mass spectrometry analysis showed that the acidic isoform of both proteins is produced by overoxidation of the peroxidatic Cys residue to sulfinic acid. 2-Cys Prx overoxidation was lower in the NTRC mutant. These results show the important function of NTRC to maintain the redox equilibrium of chloroplast 2-Cys Prxs.
