Speed forecasting has numerous applications in intelligent transport systems’design and control,especially for safety and road efficiency *** the field of electromobility,it represents the most dynamic parameter for efficient online in-vehicle energy ***,vehicles’speed forecasting is a challenging task,because its estimation is closely related to various features,which can be classified into two categories,endogenous and exogenous *** features represent electric vehicles’characteristics,whereas exogenous ones represent its surrounding context,such as traffic,weather,and road *** this paper,a speed forecasting method based on the Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)is *** LSTM model training is performed upon a dataset collected from a traffic simulator based on real-world data representing urban *** proposed models are generated for univariate and multivariate scenarios and are assessed in terms of accuracy for speed *** results show that the multivariate model outperforms the univariate model for short-and long-term forecasting.

Structural,optical and magnetic properties are reported for new synthesized perovskite ***_(0.3)La_(0.7)Ti_(0.3)Fe_(0.7)O_(3) and Ba_(0.1)La_(0.9)Ti_(0.1)Fe_(0.9)O_(3) compositions were prepared via solid state reaction.X-ray analysis confirms that both compositions show feature of perovskite *** refinement method was used to confirm the phase formation and investigate the structure and space *** study demonstrates the formation of orthorhombic structure with Pnma space group for Ba_(0.3)La_(0.7)Ti_(0.3)Fe_(0.7)O_(3) while the composition Ba_(0.1)La_(0.9)Ti_(0.1)Fe_(0.9)O_(3) structure adopts Pbnm ***–vis spectroscopy measurements show very broad and intense UV–visible light absorption,the estimated band gap ranges between 2.07 and 2.15 *** measurements were carried out for the compositions Ba_(0.3)La_(0.7)Ti_(0.3)Fe_(0.7)O_(3) and Ba_(0.1)La_(0.9)Ti_(0.1)Fe_(0.9)O_(3).The hysteresis loops of both samples at 300 and 10 K show a strong ferromagnetic *** temperature dependent magnetization at 0.05 T under field-cooled(FC)and zero field cooled(ZFC)modes shows magnetic frustration or spin glass-like behavior.

Active packaging based on biomaterials and essential oils is an alternate for plastic ***,essential oils are chemically and physiologically labile,and they have strong scents,limiting their use as antimicrobial additives in ***,in this investigation,basil oil was encapsulated in silica nanoparticles(basil oil@SiNPs)and combined with chitosan films(basil oil@SiNPs@chitosan).Scanning electron microscopy(SEM),Transmission electron microscopy(TEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),surface area and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET)analysis,encapsulation and loading%were used to evaluate basil oil@*** surface area of SiNPs decreased from 59.006 to 43.86 cm^(2)/g due to basil oil *** encapsulation and loading%were 81.96,65.87,48.48 and 43.13,37.64,33.44%for 2,1.5,and 1 mL of basil oil,***-transform infrared(FT-IR),XRD,thermogravimetric analysis(TG),mechanical,wettability,water vapor permeability(WVP),oxygen permeability(OP)features;water vapor sorption isotherms and antimicrobial inhibition tests were used to describe the produced basil oil@SiNPs@chitosan *** contact angles and activation energy increased from 89.0◦to 110.9◦and-11.97 to-20.40 kJ/mol,respectively after addition of basil oil@***,WVP decreased from 5.9580×10^(-1)±0.33 to 4.2413×10^(-1)±0.55 ***.m^(-2).h^(-1).kPa^(-1)and OP increased from 4.094×10^(-4)±0.52 to 6.715×10^(-5)±0.32(g.m^(-2).day^(-1).atm^(-1)).The four models Guggenheim-Anderson-de Boer(GAB),Smith,Henderson and SIPSI were suitable for describing the moisture sorption of basil oil@SiNPs@chitosan *** oil@SiNPs has antimicrobial inhibition against Gram positive and negative bacteria,pathogenic yeast.

The fact that traditional semiconductors have almost reached their performance limits in high power applications,is leading to failure in high power *** failure results from self-heating effects,leading to higher temperature and a breakdown of the electrical *** good thermal and mechanical properties of 4 H-SiC and Ti_(3)SiC_(2) and their good performance at high temperatures make them good candidates for high power *** order to improve the performance of electrical contacts,a thermo-mechanical simulation was carried out using the finite element method to study the self-heating effects in a high power PN diode made of a 4 H-SiC substrate with a Ti_(3)SiC_(2) electrical contact and Al_(3)Ti *** three-dimensional model took into account the temperature dependency of several thermal and mechanical properties of the different materials to improve calculation *** simulate the self-heating,the power loss in the diode was calculated from the corresponding direct I-V *** addition,the interfacial thermal resistances(ITR)between the different layers were varied and studied in the thermo-mechanical investigation,in sequence to determine their effects on the heat dissipation and the resulting stresses in the *** results show that for realistic ITR values,the ITR barely affects heat diffusion mechanical stresses of the ***,ITR may cause serious problem to the functionality and the efficiency of some electronic *** the other hand,extremely large ITR leads to a decrease in the thermal stress in the *** control on the ITR may help to improve the performance of high-power devices in the future,in addition to providing more efficient electrical contacts.

This article focuses on the experimental and numerical study of an industrial prototype furnace intended for the production of ceramics in order to improve the energy efficiency and therefore optimize the fuel consumption and the corresponding carbon dioxide *** order to understand the thermal behavior from which stems the energy efficiency of the experimental prototype,we establish in this work,a simplified modeling allowing to establish a mathematical model describing the thermal behavior of the *** model is able to accurately predict the spatial and temporal distribution of the temperature at each point of the furnace to control the firing of the refractory product so that the final product is of good quality in terms of resistance and *** addition,the power consumed by the prototype must be optimized in order to reduce energy and environmental *** particular,this efficient technology has allowed us to save 83% of energy used in the traditional furnace and to reduce 87.36% of the relative carbon dioxide *** simulation of the mathematical model made it possible to compare the numerical results with the experimental measurements obtained by the prototype as well as to validate the model and to adjust the heat transfer parameters.

Chemical composition of Mentha suaveolens and Pinus halepensis essential oils and their antibacterial and antioxidant activities

Objective: To determin the chemical compounds of Mentha suaveolens(M. suaveolens) and Pinus halepensis(P. halepensis) essential oils(Eos) and evaluate their antioxidant and antibacterial activities. Methods: The chemical composition of P. halepensis and M. suaveolens EOs was determined by GC-MS analysis. The antioxidant activity was evaluated using DPPH,ABTS and FRAP assays. The antibacterial effect was tested against 6 bacterial strains using the well diffusion method and micro-dilution assay. Results: The major components of P. halepensis EOs were β-caryophyllene(28.04%),myrcene(23.81%) and α-pinene(12.02%). However,piperitenone oxid(56.28%),piperitenone(11.64%) and pulegone(6.16%) were the major components of M. suaveolens EOs. M. suaveolens EOs showed remarkable antioxidant activities compared with P. halepensis EOs,showing antioxidant capacity values of IC50=(64.76±2.24) μg/mL,IC50=(82.73±3.34) μg/mL,and IC50=(93.35±4.45) μg/mL,revealed by DPPH,ABTS and FRAP assays,respectively. However,P. halepensis EOs showed interesting antibacterial effects against all bacterial strains. The most sensible strains to P. halepensis EOs were Staphylococcus aureus [(34.00±0.50) mm],Listeria monocytogenes [(31.00±1.50)] mm and Proteus mirabilis [(29.00±2.25)mm]. Furthermore,the lowest minimal inhibitory concentration(MIC) and minimal bactericidal concentration(MBC) values were revealed by P. halepensis EOs against Staphylococcus aureus [MIC=MBC=0.125%(v/v)] and Listeria monocytogenes [MIC=MBC=0.25%(v/v)]. Conclusions: P. halepensis and M. suaveolens EOs contain bioactive compounds that could have potential applications against bacterial infections and oxidative stress related diseases as well as for food conservation. However,further investigations are necessary to isolate and investigate the action mechanisms of these bioactive compounds.

Numerical Investigation and Optimization of a Flat Plate Solar Collector Operating with Cu/CuO/Al_(2)O_(3)–Water Nanofluids

Nanofluids are a potential alternative to significantly improving the performance of heat transfer applications. In this work, a numerical analysis to examine the eff ect of dispersing copper(Cu), copper oxide(CuO), and aluminum(Al2O3) nanoparticles in pure water on the performance of a flat plate solar collector(FPSC) and a numerical model was proposed. The influence of the nanofluid type on the thermal efficiency was critically investigated and discussed. The eff ect of the mass flow rate on the performance was also analyzed and discussed. Based on correlations of the thermophysical properties of nanofluids, a sensitivity analysis was used to analyze the impact of the nanoparticles on the base fluid. The results indicate that the performance of the FPSC with Cu/water nanofluid was better than that of FPSCs using CuO/water or Al2O3/water nanofluids. When the mass flow rate of the nanofluids was 8.0 L/min, the efficiency of the FPSC was much greater than those at the flow rates of 5.0 L/min and 2.0 L/min. Mean enhancements in thermal efficiency of 4.44%, 4.27%, and 4.21% were observed when 2.0 L/min was applied using Cu/water, Cu O/water, and Al2O3/water nanofluids, respectively. Improvements in thermal efficiency of 2.76%, 2.53%, and 2.47% occurred when 8.0 L/min was applied.
