Response of Yield, Yield Components and Fiber Properties of Cotton to Different Application Rates of Nitrogen and Boron

Nitrogen （N） was applied at rates of 0, 100, 200 and 300 ***^-1 and boron （B） was applied as foliar at rates 0, 500 and 1000 ***^-1 to study the effect of different application rates of nitrogen and boron fertilizers on yield, yield components and fiber properties of cotton. Statistical results of study showed that N application significantly （P 〈 0.05） enhanced boll number, boll weight, seed cotton weight of boll, seed cotton yield and lint yield. Results of study also indicated that the maximum seed cotton yield was recorded in case of 200 ***^-1 N application rate, and this application rate resulted in 19.6% increased seed cotton yield. Statistical results also indicated that foliar application of B significantly enhanced boll number, boll weight, seed cotton yield and lint yield. Results also demonstrated that the maximum seed cotton yield was obtained in case of 1000 *** foliar application of B, and this foliar application rate resulted in 25% increased seed cotton yield. Statistical results showed that effect of different application rates of N was not significant for all fiber properties （fiber length, fiber strength and fiber fineness）. Conversely, results of study indicated that different application rates of B significantly affected some fiber properties.

In an era of graphene-based nanomaterials as the most widely studied two-dimensional (2D) materials for enhanced performance of devices and systems in solar energy conversion applications, molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) stands out as a promising alternative 2D material with excellent properties. This review first examined various methods for MoS2 synthesis. It, then, summarized the unique structure and properties of MoS2 nanosheets. Finally, it presented the latest advances in the use of M0S2 nanosheets for important solar energy applications, including solar thermal water purification, photocatalytic process, and photoelectrocatalytic process.

This research was conducted to investigate the effects of three heating systems on cucumber yield,and cost and gas volume consumed in greenhouses located in Varamin region,Tehran province,*** heating systems used in the greenhouses are:central heating system(including boiler+hot water pipes),gas heater system(including double-walled tank+blower)and traditional furnace system(including ignition chamber+torch+pipes carrying a mixture of hot air and flammable gases).The study was carried out for two consecutive cucumber cultivation periods from January to *** values of crop yield,volume and cost of gas consumed were determined separately for each heating *** of the study indicated that the central heating system with the highest crop yield(295 t/ha),and the lowest volume(100,000 m^(3)/ha)and cost(840 USD/ha)of gas consumed was the best and most suitable heating system for greenhouses producing cucumbers in Varamin region and other regions with the same and similar climate as well as regions with active greenhouses in the cold season.

Immunogenicity of recombinant hepatitis B virus vaccine in patients with and without chronic hepatitis C virus infection:A case-control study

AIM： To compare the response of standard hepatitis B virus （HBV） vaccination between patients with chronic hepatitis C virus （HCV） infection and healthy individuals. METHODS： This is a prospective case-control study. A total of 38 patients with chronic HCV infection and 40 healthy controls were included. Vaccination was performed by injection of 20μg recombinant HBsAg into the deltoid muscle at mo 0,1 and 6. Anti-HBs concentration was determined 3 mo after the last dose and compared between the two groups. The response pattern was characterized as （1） high-response when the anti-HBs antibody titer was 〉 100 IU/L, （2） low-response when the titer was 10-100 IU/L. and （3） no-response when the titer was 〈 10 IU/L. RESULTS： In the patient group, there were 10/38 （26.3%） non-responders, 8/38 （21.1%） Iow-responders and 20/38 （52.6%） high-responders. The corresponding values in the control group were 2/40 （5.0%）, 7/40 （17.5%） and 31/40 （77.5%）, respectively. The response pattern was statistically different between the two groups. In multivariate analysis, smoking was a significant confounder, while HCV infection lost its significant correlation with lower antibody response. CONCLUSION： Patients with chronic HCV infection tend to respond weakly to HBV vaccination compared to healthy individuals, though this correlation is not independent according to multivariate analysis.

The Lower Cretaceous benthic Limestone in Yazd Block (Central Iran zone) is known as the Taft and Shahkuh Formations. In this study, the age of the Taft and Shahkuh Formation, is examined based on biostratigraphic and paleontological investigations of Taft Formation in sections of Herisht (NE Ardakan) and Abanbar (NE Ardakan) and Shahkuh Formation in Chahpalang section (North Ardakan). According to the lithostratigraphic investigations, the taft and Shahkuh Formation in these sections include of thin bedded to medium bedded and massive limestone. Micropaleontology study of the Taft and Shahkuh Formation has led to the recognition of numerous genus and species which belong to Orbitolinidae Families such as: Dictyoconus pachymarginalis, Montseciellaarabica, Mesorbitolina parva, Paleodictyoconus sp., Paleodictyoconusactinostoma, Palorbitolina sp., Palorbitolina lenticularis, Praeorbitolinacormyi, Praeorbitolina cf. wienandsi, Praeorbitolina claveli, Praeorbotolinasp., cf. Paleodictyoconus sp., Palorbitolina ultima. and Calcareous Algae such as: Acroporella sp., Acroporella cf. Application of Multi-Step Differential Transform Method on Flow of a Second-Grade Fluid over a Stretching or Shrinking Sheet

In this study, a reliable algorithm to develop approximate solutions for the problem of fluid flow over a stretching or shrinking sheet is proposed. It is depicted that the differential transform method (DTM) solutions are only valid for small values of the independent variable. The DTM solutions diverge for some differential equations that extremely have nonlinear behaviors or have boundary-conditions at infinity. For this reason the governing boundary-layer equations are solved by the Multi-step Differential Transform Method (MDTM). The main advantage of this method is that it can be applied directly to nonlinear differential equations without requiring linearization, discretization, or perturbation. It is a semi analytical-numerical technique that formulizes Taylor series in a very different manner. By applying the MDTM the interval of convergence for the series solution is increased. The MDTM is treated as an algorithm in a sequence of intervals for finding accurate approximate solutions for systems of differential equations. It is predicted that the MDTM can be applied to a wide range of engineering applications.

A similarity solution for the steady hydromagnetic convective heat and mass transfer with slip flow from a spinning disk with viscous dissipation and Ohmic heating yields a system of non-linear, coupled, ordinary differential equations. These equations are analytically solved by applying a newly developed method namely the DTM-Padé technique which is a combination of the Differential Transform Method (DTM) and the Padé approximation. A full analytical solution is presented, as a benchmark for alternative numerical solutions. DTM-Padé is implemented without requiring linearization, discretization, or perturbation, and holds significant potential for solving strongly nonlinear differential equations which arise frequently in fluid dynamics. The regime studied is shown to be controlled by the slip parameter (γ), magnetohydrodynamic body force parameter (M), Eckert (viscous heating) number (Ec), Schmidt number (Sc), Soret number (Sr), Dufour number (Du) and Prandtl number (Pr). The influence of selected parameters on the evolution of dimensionless velocity, temperature and concentration distributions is studied graphically. Increasing magnetic field (M) is found to significantly inhibit the radial (f) and tangential (g) velocities, but to accentuate the axial velocity field (h);furthermore temperature (θ) and concentration (φ) are both enhanced with increasing M. Increasing Soret number (Sr) acts to boost the dimensionless concentration (φ). Temperatures are significantly elevated in the boundary layer regime with a rise in Eckert number (Ec). Excellent correlation between the DTM-Padé technique and numerical (shooting) solutions is achieved. The model has important applications in industrial energy systems, process mechanical engineering, electromagnetic materials processing and electro-conductive chemical transport processes.
