New and efficient proposed to treat perfluorinated reactor systems were compounds via catalytic decomposition. One system has a single reactor （S-1）, and another has a series of reactors （S-2）. Both systems are capable of producing a valuable CaF2 and eliminating toxic HF effluent and their feasibility was studied at various temperatures with a commercial process simulator, Aspen HYSYS. They are better than the conventional system, and S-2 is better than S-1 in terms of CaF2 production, a required heat for the system, natural gas usage and CO2 emissions in a boiler, and energy consumption. Based on process simulation results, preliminary economic analysis shows that cost savings of 12.37% and 13.55% were obtained in S-2 at 589.6 and 621.4℃compared to S-1 at 700 and 750 ℃, respectively, for the same amount of CaF2 production.

Regulatory T cells （Tregs） are a specialized subpopulation of T cells that control the immune response and thereby maintain immune system homeostasis and tolerance to self-antigens. Many subsets of CD4＋ Tregs have been identified, including Foxp3~, Trl, Th3, and Foxp3neg iT（R）35 cells. In this study, we identified a new subset of CD4＋VEGFR1high Tregs that have immunosuppressive capacity. CD4＋VEGFRlhigh T cells, which constitute approximately 1.0% of CD4＋ T cells, are hyporesponsive to T-cell antigen receptor stimulation. Surface marker and FoxP3 expression analysis revealed that CD4＋VEGFR1high T cells are distinct from known Tregs. CD4＋VEGFR1high T cells suppressed the proliferation of CD4＋CD25- T cell as efficiently as CD4＋CD25high natural Tregs in a contact-independent manner. Furthermore, adoptive transfer of CD4＋VEGFR1＋ T cells from wild type to RAG-2-deficient C57BL/6 mice inhibited effector T-cell-mediated inflammatory bowel disease. Thus, we report CD4＋ VEGFR1high T cells as a novel subset of Tregs that regulate the inflammatory response in the intestinal tract.

This study investigates the interannual variation of summer surface air temperature over Northeast Asia（NEA） and its associated circulation *** leading modes for the temperature variability over NEA are obtained by EOF *** first EOF mode is characterized by a homogeneous temperature anomaly over NEA and therefore is called the NEA *** anomaly extends from southeast of Lake Baikal to Japan,with a central area in Northeast *** second EOF mode is characterized by a seesaw pattern,showing a contrasting distribution between East Asia（specifically including the Changbai Mountains in Northeast China,Korea,and Japan） and north of this *** mode is named the East Asia（EA） *** modes contribute equivalently to the temperature variability in *** two leading modes are associated with different circulation anomalies.A warm NEA mode is associated with a positive geopotential height anomaly over NEA and thus a weakened upper-tropospheric westerly *** the other hand,a warm EA mode is related to a positive height anomaly over EA and a northward displaced *** addition,the NEA mode tends to be related to the Eurasian teleconnection pattern,while the EA mode is associated with the East Asia-Pacific/PacificJapan pattern.

Herein,we report on surface plasmon(SP)-sensitive semitransparent inverted polymer photovoltaic(PV)devices that are based on multilayered material systems consisting of poly(3-hexylthiophene):fullerene-derivative bulk-heterojunction PV layers and thin gold or silver *** demonstrate that these PV devices allow the simultaneous generation of both electrical power and SPs on their anodes for photoexcitation just above the optical absorption edge of the PV layers,resulting not only in attenuated total reflection,but also in attenuated photocurrent generation(APG)under the SP resonance(SPR)***,we also confirm that the biomolecular interaction of biotin–streptavidin on the PV devices can be precisely detected via apparent SPR angle shifts in the APG spectra,even without the need for complex attenuated total reflection *** highlight our view that APG measurements made using these PV devices show great potential for the development of future generations of compact and highly sensitive SPR-based optical sensors.

Background This study investigated the efficacy and safety of nusinersen,an antisense oligonucleotide,in patients with spinal muscular atrophy(SMA)types II(OMIM:253,550)or III(OMIM:253,400),including those with severe scoliosis or requiring respiratory support via mechanical *** Data from 40 patients with genetically confirmed SMA who were treated with nusinersen at our institute from March 2019 to April 2022 were retrospectively *** these,30 patients with an age of onset<3 years and not on permanent ventilation were *** and genetic characteristics were investigated,and motor function was evaluated based on the Hammersmith Functional Motor Scale-Expanded(HFMSE)*** The mean age of symptom onset was 1.2 *** patients were diagnosed with SMA type II(27/30,90%).Nusinersen was administered via computed tomography-guided or direct intrathecal injection in 87%(26/30)and 13%(4/30)of the patients,*** the 6-,14-,22-,and 26-month follow-ups,72%,71%,88%,and 86%of patients showed motor improvement,respectively,with mean changes in HFMSE scores of 2.10,2.88,4.21,and 5.29,*** analysis showed that the use of noninvasive ventilation was associated with poorer outcomes of motor *** Patients with SMA type II or III who received nusinersen treatment showed significant improvement in motor function.A longer treatment duration led to a higher number of patients with improved motor *** significant side effects of nusinersen were *** with SMA,even those with severe scoliosis or on respiratory support,can be safely treated using nusinersen.

Recently,polymer materials have been at the forefront of other materials in building high-performance flexible electronic skin(e-skin)devices due to con-spicuous advantages including excellent mechanical flexibility,good compatibil-ity,and high ***,most research works just paid considerable attention and effort to the design,construction,and possible application of e-skins that reproduce the tactile perception of the human skin sensory *** with tactile sensing devices,e-skins that aim to imitate the non-contact sensing features in the sensory system of human skin tend to avoid undesired issues such as bacteria spreading and mechanical *** further promote the development of e-skins to the human skin sensory system where tactile perception and non-contact sensing complement each other,significant progress and advances have been achieved in the field of polymer materials enabled e-skins for both tactile perception and non-contact sensing *** this review,the latest progress in polymer material-based e-skins with regard to tactile,non-contact sensing capabilities and their practical applications are *** fabrication strategies of polymer materials and their role in building high-performance e-skins for tactile and non-contact sensing are ***,we also review the research works that integrated the polymer-based tactile and non-contact e-skins into robots and prostheses,smart gloves,and VR/AR devices and addressed some representative problems to dem-onstrate their suitability in practical applications in human–machine ***,the current challenges in the construction of high-performance tactile and non-contact e-skins are highlighted and promising properties in this direction,by taking advantage of the polymer materials,are outlined.

Background Longer hospitalizations for preterm infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia(BPD)delay developmental outcomes,increase the risk for hospital-acquired complications,and exert a substantial socioeconomic *** study aimed to identify factors associated with an extended length of stay(LOS)at different levels of severity of *** A cohort study was conducted using the Korean Neonatal Network registry of very low birth weight infants with BPD between 2013 and 2017 through retrospective *** A total of 4263 infants were diagnosed with *** mild BPD,infants requiring surgical treatment for patent ductus arteriosus needed a longer LOS[eadjustedβcoefficients(adjβ)1.041;95%confidence interval(CI):0.01–0.08]and hydrocephalus(eadjβ1.094;95%CI 0.01–0.17).In moderate BPD,infants administered steroids or with intraventricular hemorrhage required a longer LOS(eadjβ1.041;95%CI 0.00–0.07 and eadjβ1.271;95%CI 0.11–0.38,respectively).In severe BPD,infants with comorbidities required a longer LOS:pulmonary hypertension(eadjβ1.174;95%CI 0.09–0.23),administrated steroid for BPD(eadjβ1.116;95%CI 0.07–0.14),sepsis(eadjβ1.062;95%CI 0.01–0.11),patent ductus arteriosus requiring surgical ligation(eadjβ1.041;95%CI 0.00–0.08),and intraventricular hemorrhage(eadjβ1.016;95%CI 0.05–0.26).Additionally,the higher the clinical risk index score,the longer the LOS needed for infants in all *** The factors affecting LOS differed according to the severity of *** approaches to reducing LOS may be devised using knowledge of the various risk factors affecting LOS by BPD severity.

To clarify the trend in colorectal cancer mortality in Asian *** analyzed the colorectal cancer mortality in four Asian countries using the World Health Organization mortality database and the Korea National Statistics Office *** annual age-standardized rates and truncated rated for the three age groups(30-49,50-69 and ≥ 70 years) for hong Kong of China(1969-2009),Japan(1955-2009),South Korea(1985-2006),and Singapore(1966-2009) were estimated.A joinpoint regression model was used to detect significant trends in mortality *** cancer mortality in men started to decrease in 1992 in Japan followed by Singapore and hong Kong of China in *** mortality rates in women stared to decrease in 1980 in Singapore,followed by hong Kong of China and Japan in *** all countries and both genders,except for women in Singapore,the decrease in mortality began in the younger age *** colorectal cancer mortality in the four studied Asian countries has started to decrease,and the decrease occurred first in the younger age groups.

Despite the economy of material cost and excellent toughness of Cu-based amorphous alloys,especially CusoZrso,their poor corrosion resistance to a chloride medium limits their widespread *** this study,corrosion tests were performed on the CusoZrso amorphous alloy with different degrees of short-range order,which were prepared by annealing below the glass transition temperature（Tg）.It was found that the corrosion resistance of amorphous alloys is improved to a significant level when the alloys were heated below *** studies showed that thermally activated relaxation process of created disorder,which occurs during sub-Tg annealing,is responsible for the improvement in the corrosion *** dynamics simulations performed on the Cu-Zr amorphous alloys demonstrated that the relaxation process of the alloys is associated with the formation of energetically stable icosahedra and icosahedron-like *** study highlights the effects of sub-Tg annealing on the improvement in the corrosion resistance of the amorphous alloys from the viewpoint the relaxation process of the short-range orders.
