The demand for defect diagnoses is gradually gaining ground owing to the growing necessity to implement safe inspection methods to ensure the durability and quality of ***,conventional manpower-based inspection methods not only incur considerable cost and time,but also cause frequent disputes regarding defects owing to poor ***,the demand for an effective and efficient defect-diagnosis model for concrete structures is imminent,as the reduction in maintenance costs is significant from a long-term ***,this paper proposes a deep learning-based image objectidentification method to detect the defects of paint peeling,leakage peeling,and leakage traces that mostly occur in underground parking lots made of concrete *** deep learning-based object-detection method can replace conventional visual inspection methods.A faster region-based convolutional neural network(R-CNN)model was used with a training dataset of 6,281 images that utilized a region proposal network to objectively localize the regions of interest and detect the surface *** defects were classified according to their type,and the learning of each exclusive model was ensured through test sets obtained from real underground parking *** a result,average precision scores of 37.76%,36.42%,and 61.29%were obtained for paint peeling,leakage peeling,and leakage trace defects,***,this study verified the performance of the faster RCNN-based defect-detection algorithm along with its applicability to underground parking lots.

Clinical advantages of single port laparoscopic hepatectomy

AIM To evaluate the clinical advantages of single-port laparoscopic hepatectomy(SPLH) compare to multiport laparoscopic hepatectomy(MPLH).METHODS We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 246 patients who underwent laparoscopic liver resection between january 2008 and December 2015 at our hospital. We divided the surgical technique into two groups; SPLH and MPLH. We performed laparoscopic liver resection for both benign and malignant disease. Major hepatectomy such as right and left hepatectomy was also done with sufficient disease-free margin. The operative time, the volume of blood loss, transfusion rate, and the conversion rate to MPLH or open surgery was evaluated. The post-operative parameters included the meal start date after operation, the number of postoperative days spent in the hospital, and surgical complications was also *** Of the 246 patients, 155 patients underwent SPLH and 91 patients underwent MPLH. Conversion rate was 22.6% in SPLH and 19.8% in MPLH(P = 0.358). We performed major hepatectomy, which was defined as resection of more than 2 sections, in 13.5% of patients in the SPLH group and in 13.3% of patients in the MPLH group(P = 0.962). Comparative long-term outcomes for pancreatic volume change, nutritional status, and incidence of new-onset diabetes between pancreatogastrostomy and pancreatojejunostomy after pancreaticoduodenectomy

Background:The difference in volume change in a pancreatic remnant according to the type of pancreaticoenterostomy after pancreaticoduodenectomy(PD)for long-term follow-up is ***,there are few studies that evaluate the difference in general nutritional status and pancreatic endocrine function,including new-onset diabetes mellitus(NODM)depending on the type of *** study aimed to compare serial pancreatic volume changes in pancreatic remnants between pancreatogastrostomy(PG)and pancreatojejunostomy(Pj)after PD and to evaluate the difference in general nutritional status and incidence of NODM between PG and ***:This study enrolled 115 patients who had survived for more than 3 years after *** were divided into the PG group and the Pj *** clinicopathologic factors were collected and *** calculated serial pancreas volume and pancreatic duct size precisely from preoperative stage to 5 years after surgery by image-processing software specifically designed for navigation and visualization of multimodality and multidimensional *** changes of albumin and body mass index(BMI)as related to general nutritional status were compared between the PG and Pj *** evaluate the incidence and risk factors of NODM following PD,subgroup analysis was performed in 88 patients who did not have diabetes ***:Most patient demographics were not significantly different between the PG group(n=45)and Pj group(n=70).There was no significant difference in volume reduction between the groups from postoperative 1 month to 5 years(PG group?18.21±14.66 mL versus Pj group?14.43±13.05 mL,P=0.209).But there was a significant difference in increased pancreatic duct size between the groups from postoperative 1 month to 5 years(PG group 1.66±2.20 mm versus Pj group 0.54±1.54 mm,P=0.007).There was no significant difference in the increase of total serum albumin between the groups for 5 years after surgery(PG group 0

Comparative study of rendezvous techniques in post-liver transplant biliary stricture

AIM:To investigate the usefulness of a new rendezvous technique for placing stents using the Kumpe(KMP) catheter in angulated or twisted biliary ***:The rendezvous technique was performed in patients with a biliary stricture after living donor liver transplantation(LDLT) who required the exchange of percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage catheters for inside *** rendezvous technique was performed using a guidewire in 19 patients(guidewire group) and using a KMP catheter in another 19(KMP catheter group).We compared the two groups ***:The baseline characteristics did not differ between the *** success rate for placing inside stents was 100% in both groups.A KMP catheter was easier to manipulate than a *** mean procedure time in the KMP catheter group(1012 s,range:301-2006 s) was shorter than that in the guidewire group(2037 s,range:251-6758 s,P = 0.022).The cumulative probabilities corresponding to the procedure time of the two groups were significantly different(P = 0.008).The factors related to procedure time were the rendezvous technique method,the number of inside stents,the operator,and balloon dilation of the stricture(P < 0.05).In a multivariate analysis,the rendezvous technique method was the only significant factor related to procedure time(P = 0.010).The procedural complications observed included one case of mild acute pancreatitis and one case of acute cholangitis in the guidewire group,and two cases of mild acute pancreatitis in the KMP catheter ***:The rendezvous technique involving use of the KMP catheter was a fast and safe method for placing inside stents in patients with LDLT biliary stricture that represents a viable alternative to the guidewire rendezvous technique.

1.45 GPa ultrastrong cryogenic strength with superior impact toughness in the in-situ nano oxide reinforced CrMnFeCoNi high-entropy alloy matrix nanocomposite manufactured by laser powder bed fusion

CrMnFeCoNi high-entropy alloys(HEAs)exhibit an excellent combination of tensile strength and ductility at cryogenic *** study led to the introduction of a new method for the development of high-performance CrMnFeCoNi HEAs at cryogenic temperatures by jointly utilizing additive manufacturing(AM)and the addition of interstitial *** interstitial oxygen present in the powder feedstock was transformed into beneficial nano-sized oxides during AM *** HEA nanocomposite fabricated using laser powder bed fusion(L-PBF)not only contains heterogeneous grains and substructures but also a high number density of nano-sized *** tensile results revealed that the L-PBF HEA nanocomposite has superior yield strengths of 0.77 GPa and 1.15 GPa,and tensile strengths of 0.92 GPa and 1.45 GPa at 298 K and 77 K,*** addition,the Charpy impact energies of the samples tested at 298 K and 77 K were measured as 176.2 j and 103.7 j,*** results indicate that the L-PBF HEA nanocomposite successfully overcomes the well-known strength-toughness *** tensile deformation microstructure contained a relatively large number of deformation twins(DTs)at cryogenic temperature,a possible consequence of the decrease in the stacking fault energy with decreasing *** the other hand,cracks were found to propagate along the grain boundaries at room temperature,whereas a transgranular crack was observed at cryogenic temperature in the specimens fractured as a result of the Charpy impact.

Non-Invasive Measurements of Thickness of Superconductor Films by Using Two-Resonant-Mode Rutile Resonator

The film thickness should be known for extrazting the intrinsic surface resistance from the effective surface resistance as measured by using the dielectric resonator method. Thicknesses of 70 nm to 360 nm are measured for YBa2 Cu3 O7-δ films in a non-invasive way by using the two-resonant-mode dielectric resonator （TDR） method. A futile resonator with the respective resonant frequencies of 15.25-15.61 GHz and 15.10-15.37 GHz for the TE021 and the TE012 modes is used for this purpose. Differences between the values as measured by using the TDR technique and those measured by using a step profilometer appear to be less than 3%, which is smaller than the previous value of 5% as measured by using a 8. 6 GHz single-resonance mode futile resonator [Lee et al. j. Korean Phys. Soc. 54（2009）1619]. Merits of using the TDR method are discussed.

Serum ferritin and the risk of early-onset colorectal cancer

Dear Editor,We report our experience using a continuous intraoperative optical coherence tomography(OCT)-enabled microscope system for real-time anatomical evaluation of the optic pit during surgery in an 8-year-old girl who presented with symptomatic optic disc pit(ODP) maculopathy. ODP is an extremely rare congenital anomaly secondary to colobomatous malformation of the optic nerve head, with a reported incidence of 0.00009%[1]. Although patients are frequently asymptomatic, approximately 40%-50% of patients experience visual symptoms because of subretinal fluid(SRF) accumulation beneath the macula.
