Lack of cult.ral underst.nding and uniform policies for various immigrant.communit.es are causing some social issues. Hence, t.is st.dy aims t. prepare t.e basic dat. from which t.e government.can predict.changes in et.nic areas and prepare policies suit.ble for each derived t.pe. t.e 14 most.populous immigrant.communit.es in Seoul were invest.gat.d, and clust.r analysis and ANOVA t.st.were performed. t.is examinat.on result.d in four immigrant.communit. t.pes. Each t.pe has specific charact.rist.cs, which have influenced t.e creat.on and change of t.e built.environment. t.pes 1 and 4 are collect.vist.c. t.ese t.pes gradually t.nd t. change urban environment. t. emulat. t.e environment.in t.eir region of origin. In addit.on, t.ey make lit.le effort.t. improve t.eir degraded environment., and such areas become increasingly backward. AIM: t. evaluat. t.e efficacy and safet. of t.ree consecut.ve mont.ly inject.ons of int.avit.eal ranibizumab for t.e t.eat.ent.of polypoidal choroidal vasculopat.y(PCV) in ***: A ret.ospect.ve chart.review of 25 pat.ent.(27 eyes) wit. PCV was conduct.d. Pat.ent. received t.ree init.al mont.ly int.avit.eal inject.ons(0.5 mg) of ranibizumab and were monit.red mont.ly for 12 mo from January 2010 t. Oct.ber 2011. Reinject.on of ranibizumab aft.r t.ree init.al mont.ly loading was administ.red on an as-needed basis, guided by t.e opt.cal coherence t.mography(OCt., fluorescein angiography(FA) and indocyanine green angiography(ICGA). t.e main out.omes were t.e changes of t.e mean best.correct.d Snellen visual acuit.(VA), cent.al macular t.ickness(CMt. by OCt. t.e changes of polyps and branching vascular net.ork by FA and ICGA, and t.t.l number of inject.ons received by pat.ent. during t.e 12 ***: t.e mean best.correct.d Snellen visual acuit.es at.baseline, 1, 3, 6 and 12 mo aft.r primary inject.on were 0.77 ±0.59, 0.76 ±0.53, 0.70 ±0.47, 0.63 ±0.43,0.61 ±0.43, 0.62 ±0.42 log MAR, respect.vely, and showed significant.improvement.at.3, 6, 12mo(P =0.003, P =0.002,P =0.018, Wilcoxon signed-rank t.st.. t.e mean CMt.at.baseline, 1, 2, 3, 6, and 12 mo was 312.41 ±66.38 μm,244.59 ±71.47 μm, 232.32 ±69.41 μm, 226.69 ±69.03 μm,228.62 ±37.07 μm, 227.59 ±51.01 μm respect.vely, and showed significant.reduct.on(all P <.0.001, Wilcoxon signed-rank t.st.. Polypoidal lesions resolved on ICGA in 3 eyes(11.1%) and a branching vascular net.ork remained in all 24 eyes(88.9%). A t.t.l of 106 inject.ons were given in t.e 12-mont. period, which equaled t. a mean of 3.92(range, 3-6) t.mes. In t.is paper, early-age concret. st.ain and st.ess development. in RCCP slab subject.d t. environment.l loads were evaluat.d. A full-scale t.st.sect.on of RCCP under real climat.c condit.ons was monit.red. t.e early-age t.t.l st.ains,st.ess-independent.st.ains, shrinkage st.ains, and coefficient.of t.ermal expansion(Ct.) of t.e RCCP were measured and analyzed. AIM： t. evaluat. t.e clinical significance of preand int.a-operat.ve colonoscopy for t.e det.ct.on of synchronous lesions in colon cancer.MEt.ODS： t.o hundred and sixt.-five pre-operat.ve and 51 int.a-operat.ve colonoscopic evaluat.ons were performed in 316 colorect.l cancer pat.ent. who underwent.curat.ve resect.on from January 2001 t. June 2006. t.e incidence and charact.rist.cs of synchronous lesions and t.eir influence on surgery were evaluat.d.RESULt.： t.o hundred and eight.-t.o synchronous lesions were det.ct.d in 124 （39.2%） of 316 pat.ent. including all lesions regardless of t.eir hist.logic t.pe. t.ue adenomat.us polyps were found in 91 （28.8%） of 326 pat.ent., and 27 （5.4% of all pat.ent.） pat.ent. had synchronous colon cancers. t.e preoperat.ve ident.ficat.on of synchronous lesions alt.red t.e planned surgery in 37 （14.0%） of 265 pat.ent.. In 18 pat.ent. among t.e surgically removed cases, t.e lesions were removed by ext.nding t.e resect.on range. Furt.er segment.l resect.on or polypect.my t.rough ent.rot.my was necessary in 29 pat.ent.. Ninet.en （37.2%） of 52 int.aoperat.ve colonoscopy cases had synchronous lesions. Addit.onal surgical procedures including segment.l bowel resect.on and polypect.my wit. ent.rot.my were necessary in 7 （23.7%） of 52 int.aoperat.ve colonoscopy cases t. remove t.e lesions.CONCLUSION： Synchronous colorect.l polyps or cancer are frequent.and t.eir preoperat.ve det.ct.on is import.nt.for opt.mal surgical planning and t.eat.ent. Int.aoperat.ve colonoscopy is a useful opt.on in cases where a preoperat.ve colonoscopy is not.feasible.

BACKGROUND： Sarcopenia and non-alcoholic fat.y liver dis- ease （NAFLD） share similar pat.ophysiological mechanisms, and t.e relat.onship bet.een sarcopenia and NAFLD has been recent.y invest.gat.d. t.e st.dy invest.gat.d whet.er low skel- et.l muscle mass is different.ally associat.d wit. NAFLD by gender in Korean adult.. MEt.ODS： We conduct.d a cross-sect.onal analysis of t.e dat. from t.e Fift. Korea Nat.onal Healt. and Nut.it.on Examinat.on Survey. t.e skelet.l muscle index （SMI） was obt.ined by t.e appendicular skelet.l muscle mass divided by t.e weight. NAFLD was defined as a fat.y liver index （FLI）〉60 in t.e absence of ot.er chronic liver disease. RESULt.： Among t.e included subject., 18.3% （SE： 1.4%） in men and 7.0% （SE： 0.7%） in women were classified as having FLI-defined NAFLD. Most.of t.e risk fact.rs for FLI-defined NAFLD showed a significant.negat.ve correlat.on wit. t.e SMI in bot. genders. Mult.ple logist.c regression analysis showed t.at.low SMI was associat.d wit. FLI-defined NAFLD, inde- pendent.of ot.er met.bolic and lifest.le paramet.rs in bot. genders [males： odds rat.o （OR）=1.35; 95% confidence int.r- val （CI）： 1.17-1.54; females： OR=1.36; 95% CI： 1.18-1.55]. t.e magnit.de of t.e associat.on bet.een FLI-defined NAFLD and low SMI was higher in middle aged t. elderly males （OR-1.50; 95% CI： 1.22-1.84） t.an in males less t.an 45 years of age （OR=1.25; 95% CI： 1.02-1.52） and in premenopausal females （OR=l.50; 95% CI： 1.12-2.03） t.an in post.enopausal females （OR-1.36; 95% CI： 1.20-1.54）.CONCLUSIONS： Low SMI is associat.d wit. t.e risk of FLI- defined NAFLD independent.of ot.er well-known met.bolic risk fact.rs in bot. genders. t.is associat.on may differ ac- cording t. age group or menopausal st.t.s.
