The distribution of small fractures and water content of the Fourcade glacier on King George Island, Antarctica, was investigated in November 2006 and December 2007 by two ground-based (470-and 490-m-long profiles) and one helicopter-borne (470-m-long profile) ground-penetrating radar (GPR) surveys using 50-, 100-, and 500-MHz antennas. Radar images in the pre-migrated GPR sections are characterized by a smooth ice surface and irregular bed topography, numerous diffraction hyperbolas in the ice and at the glacier bed, strong scattering noise, and near-surface folded layers. Scattering noise above a mound in the center of the profiles is associated with an area of dense fractures extending down from the ice surface that has relatively low reflection strength. Near the northeast ends of the profiles where few englacial fractures occur, scattering noise may result from the presence of warmer ice. A water-filled conduit and an air-filled cavity are interpreted as the source of two distinct hyperbolas in sub-glacial valleys based on the polarity of the reflections. Through migration velocity analysis on 106 hyperbolas, radar velocities were obtained for the 100-MHz ground-based profile. Using the velocities and Paren’s mixture formula, we calculated the water content of the ice to have been in the range of 0.00–0.09. High water content occurs near the glacier margin, in sub-glacial valleys, and in zones of scattering noise.

Over the last 40 years, it has been shown at the global level that sustainable forestry can be achieved through comprehensive forest management,with the decentralized institutional arrangements of community-managed forestry coordinated by effective policy implementation. However, there is still a shortage of evidence regarding whether communitybased forestry is well characterized by forest policies,assessing what action is most needed and how best to address the challenges faced by community-based forestry in halting deforestation and promoting rural livelihoods. The study analyzed experts' assessments of the characteristics and success of communitymanaged forestry in Cambodia and explored three case studies of community-managed forestry practice to identify priorities for addressing forest policy implementation inadequacies in halting deforestation and promoting rural livelihoods. There were two methods of data collection. Firstly, this study used a survey of 27 experts to analyze perceptions about how far forest policy supported community-managed forestry effectively, the major challenges faced by the national community-managed forestry program, and the community-managed forestry contribution to halting deforestation and reducing rural ***, data was collected by content analysis of three case studies to explore the knowledge and practical experience of local experts about community-managed forestry practice at local *** study employed Kendall's Coefficient of Concordance to analyze the level of concordance of experts on related forest policies(n=15) considering community-managed forestry, the challenges faced by the national community-managed forestry program,and the actions required to enable communitymanaged forestry to support communities. In this study,we examined the efficacy of a deep convolutional neural network(DCNN)in recognizing concrete surface images and predicting the compressive strength of concrete.A digital single-lens reflex(DSLR)camera and microscope were simultaneously used to obtain concrete surface images used as the input data for the ***,training,validation,and testing of the DCNNs were performed based on the DSLR camera and microscope image *** of the analysis indicated that the DCNN employing DSLR image data achieved a relatively higher *** accuracy of the DSLR-derived image data was attributed to the relatively wider range of the DSLR camera,which was beneficial for extracting a larger number of ***,the DSLR camera procured more realistic images than the ***,when the compressive strength of concrete was evaluated using the DCNN employing a DSLR camera,time and cost were reduced,whereas the usefulness ***,an indirect comparison of the accuracy of the DCNN with that of existing non-destructive methods for evaluating the strength of concrete proved the reliability of DCNN-derived concrete strength *** addition,it was determined that the DCNN used for concrete strength evaluations in this study can be further expanded to detect and evaluate various deteriorative factors that affect the durability of structures,such as salt damage,carbonation,sulfation,corrosion,and freezing-thawing.

Background This study investigated the efficacy and safety of nusinersen,an antisense oligonucleotide,in patients with spinal muscular atrophy(SMA)types II(OMIM:253,550)or III(OMIM:253,400),including those with severe scoliosis or requiring respiratory support via mechanical *** Data from 40 patients with genetically confirmed SMA who were treated with nusinersen at our institute from March 2019 to April 2022 were retrospectively *** these,30 patients with an age of onset<3 years and not on permanent ventilation were *** and genetic characteristics were investigated,and motor function was evaluated based on the Hammersmith Functional Motor Scale-Expanded(HFMSE)*** The mean age of symptom onset was 1.2 *** patients were diagnosed with SMA type II(27/30,90%).Nusinersen was administered via computed tomography-guided or direct intrathecal injection in 87%(26/30)and 13%(4/30)of the patients,*** the 6-,14-,22-,and 26-month follow-ups,72%,71%,88%,and 86%of patients showed motor improvement,respectively,with mean changes in HFMSE scores of 2.10,2.88,4.21,and 5.29,*** analysis showed that the use of noninvasive ventilation was associated with poorer outcomes of motor *** Patients with SMA type II or III who received nusinersen treatment showed significant improvement in motor function.A longer treatment duration led to a higher number of patients with improved motor *** significant side effects of nusinersen were *** with SMA,even those with severe scoliosis or on respiratory support,can be safely treated using nusinersen.

AIM： To assess the ability of endoscopic ultrasonography （EUS） to differentiate neoplastic from non- neoplastic polypoid lesions of the gallbladder （PLGs）.METHODS： The uses of EUS and transabdominal ultrasonography （US） were retrospectively analyzed in 94 surgical cases of gallbladder polyps less than 20 mm in ***： The prevalence of neoplastic lesions with a diameter of 5-20 mm was 27.2% （10/58）; 22-15 mm, 25.4% （4/26）, and 16-20 mm, 50% （5/20）. The overall diagnostic accuracies of EUS and US for small PLGs were 80.9% and 63.9% （P 〈 0.05）, respectively. EUS correctly distinguished 12 （63.2%） of 19 neoplastic PLGs but was less accurate for polyps less than 1.0 cm （4/10, 40%） than for polyps greater than 1.0 cm （8/9, 88.9%）（P = 0.02）.CONCLUSION： Although EUS was more accurate than US, its accuracy for differentiating neoplastic from non-neoplastic PLGs less than 1.0 cm was low. Thus, EUS alone is not sufficient for determining a treatment strategy for PLGs of less than 1.0 cm.

Non-fungible token(NFT)is a digital asset whose ownership can be validated and controlled via blockchain *** NFT market is a rapidly growing field,and the rarity of NFT is an essential factor that affects its price,as scarcity leads to higher *** study focuses on the BAYC NFT collection,which is a successful and representative collection of profile picture NFT,and analyzes how rarity affects NFT *** paper investigates the relationship between the rarity and price of the BAYC NFT collection using formal concept analysis(FCA)*** results show that rarity is a major factor influencing the price of NFT and the effect is more apparent in the medium rarity *** rarity is very high or very low,other factors become significant determinants,such as the uniqueness and appeal of NFT,and even the naturalness of NFT *** research highlights the importance of considering rarity when assessing NFT and underscores the need for a comprehensive evaluation of NFT *** study also provides valuable insights into the NFT market and can be useful for NFT investors,creators,and ***,the usefulness of FCA as a tool for quantifying NFT rarity and evaluating NFT price was demonstrated.

A novel technique is proposed to improve the performance of voice activity detection(VAD) by using deep belief networks(DBN) with a likelihood ratio(LR). The likelihood ratio is derived from the speech and noise spectral components that are assumed to follow the Gaussian probability density function(PDF). The proposed algorithm employs DBN learning in order to classify voice activity by using the input signal to calculate the likelihood ratio. Experiments show that the proposed algorithm yields improved results in various noise environments, compared to the conventional VAD algorithms. Furthermore, the DBN based algorithm decreases the detection probability of error with [0.7, 2.6] compared to the support vector machine based algorithm.
