Development of electrodes with high electrocatalytic activity and stability is essential for solving problems that still restrict the extensive application of vanadium redox flow batteries(VRFBs).Here,we designed a novel negative electrode with superior electrocatalytic activity by tailoring nitrogen functional groups,such as newly formed nitro and pyridinic-N transformed to pyridonic-N,from the prenitrogen-doped *** was experimentally confirmed that an electrode with pyridonic-N and nitro fuctional groups(tailored nitrogen-doped graphite felt,TNGF) has superior electrocatalytic acivity with enhanced electron and mass *** functional theory calulations demonstrated the pyridonic-N and nitro functional groups promoted the adsorption,charge transfer,and bond formation with the vanadium species,which is consistent with expermental *** addition,the V2+/V3+redox reaction mechanism on pyridonic-N and nitro functional groups was estabilised based on density functional theory(DFT) *** TNGF was applied to a VRFB,it enabled enhanced-electrolyte utilization and energy efficiencies(EE) of 57.9% and 64.6%,respectively,at a current density of 250 mA cm^(-2).These results are 18.6% and 8.9% higher than those of VRFB with electrode containing graphitic-N and pyridinicN ***,TNGF-based VRFB still operated with an EE of 59% at a high current density of300 mA cm^(-2).The TNGF-based VRFB exhibited stable cycling performance without noticeable decay of EE over 450 charge-discharge cycles at a current density of 250 mA cm^(-2).The results of this study suggest that introducing pyridonic-N and nitro groups on the electrode is effective for improving the electrochemical performance of VRFBs.

Influence of Bed Temperature on Heat Shrinkage Shape Error in FDM Additive Manufacturing of the ABS-Engineering Plastic

In case of manufacturing hexahedral ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) plastic components using a FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling)-based 3D printer, undesirable shape errors occur in the product due to heat shrinkage. This paper experimentally ob-served the influence of the bed temperature change on the deformed shape errors of a hexahedral specimen of 100 × 50 × 50 mm3 produced by using a 3D printer. During printing work, the head nozzle temperature was kept at 240?C and the head speed was set at 50 mm/s. The chamber was enclosed with a PC-plate. 3D printing was conducted at four different bed temperatures;50?C, 70?C, 90?C, and 110?C. After the produced specimens naturally cooled down to room temperature, their deformed shape errors were measured. As a result, the higher the bed temperature, the lower the deformed shape errors of the specimens were. However, if the bed temperature had exceeded 120?C, laminating adhesion became poor. That seems to occur because of the material phase change and can make 3D printing work very hard as a consequence. Results of this study can be helpful to set optimum bed temperature condition in FDM additive manufacturing.

Multistage centrifugal impellers with four different skew angles were investigated by using computational fluid *** purpose of this work is to investigate the influences of lean angle at the blade tip of the impeller *** variations of lean angles,that is,8°,10°,15° and 20°,were made at first stage *** Average Navier Stokes equation was used in simulation together with a shear?stress transport(SST) k-w turbulence model and mixing-plane approach,*** dimensional fluid flows were simplified using periodic model to reduce the computational cost and time required.A good performance was expected that the secondary flow can be effectively reduced in the flow passage of the impeller without excessive increase in manufacturing cost caused by the secondary *** results show that secondary flow affects the main flow intricately to form vortices or having non-uniform velocity in the flow passage,which in turn results in substantial fluid energy loss not only in the impeller but also in the guide vane downstream of *** numerical solutions were performed and allowed the optimum design and operating conditions to be obtained.

荷兰结构主义是20世纪60年代发展起来的一种专注于“建立关系”的建筑思潮,旨在通过创造新的建筑形式来恢复社会平衡,改善人与环境的关系,解决现代主义建筑所带来的城市社交问题。合作居住(Co-housing)与荷兰结构主义的目标、理念和设计方法相契合的一种住宅模式。合作居住是一种应对工业化和城市化带来的生活困境和社区问题的住宅形式,通过促进邻里互动和增强社区意识,强调社区团结,并采用灵活的设计方法以满足多样化的住房需求。本研究旨在深入探讨荷兰结构主义思想和设计方法在合作居住设计领域的应用,希望构建一种能够“建立关系”的住宅模型,并引入现代居住设计实践,从而为创造更具人性化、社会化和可持续发展的居住环境提供有益的借鉴和启示。本文主要分为五个部分进行研究。首先,探讨荷兰结构主义的形成背景,并深入研究在其背景下确立的设计理念和特点。其次,探讨结构主义在现代建筑设计中的意义,并评估其价值。接着,研究合作居住的形成背景,并探讨空间建构的特点。同时,对中国合作居住的发展现状及其所具有的意义和价值进行评估。然后,通过分析荷兰结构主义建筑案例,探讨其在合作居住实践中的可行性。在此基础上,总结梳理荷兰结构主义设计在合作居住设计中的应用方法,包括参与性与多义性、分解与迷宫、重复与统一以及连接与渗透等。最后,基于上述研究成果,完成了以荷兰结构主义建筑手法为基础的“合作花园社区”项目设计方案,并对设计思路和方案进行了分析。

Mg has received much attention as a next-generation implantable material owing to its biocompatibility,bone-like mechanical properties,and biodegradability in physiological *** application of various polymer coatings has been conducted in the past to reduce the rapid formation of hydrogen gas and the local change in pH during the initial phase of the chemical reaction with the body ***,we propose femtosecond(fs)laser-mediated Mg surface patterning for significant enhancement of the binding strength of the coating material,which eventually reduces the corrosion *** of the structural,physical,crystallographic,and chemical properties of the Mg surface have been conducted in order to understand the mechanism by which the surface adhesion increases between Mg and the polymer coating *** on the fs laser conditions,the surface structure becomes rough owing to the presence of several microscaled pits and grooves of nanoporous MgO,resulting in a tightly bonded poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)(PLGA)*** corrosion rate of the PLGA-coated,fs laser-treated Mg is considerably slow compared with the non-treated Mg;the treated Mg is also more biocompatible compared with the non-treated *** fs laser-based surface modification technique offers a simple and quick method for introducing a rough coating on Mg;further,it does not require any chemical treatment,thereby overcoming a potential obstacle for its clinical use.
