City level CO_(2) and local air pollutants co-control performance evaluation: A case study of 113 key envir on mental protection cities in China

‘Co-control',or synergistically reducing CO_(2)and local air polluta nt emissions,is an important strategy for cities to achieve'low carb on'and'blue sky'***,there were few studies to evaluate and compare the level of co-control of CO_(2) and local air pollutants in cities *** present study proposed qualitative and quantitative methods to evaluate the level of co-control of CO_(2)and three local air pollutant(SO_(2).NOX,and particulate matter PM)emissions in key environmental protection cities in China over two periods(2012-2015 and 2015-2018).Statistical analysis found that,though three local air pollutant emissions positively correlated with CO_(2) emission,no significantly positive correlation was found between local air pollutants emission reductions and CO_(2) emission reductions,indicating that co-control effects were poor in *** using the co-control effect coordinate system,qualitative evaluation showed that less than half of the sample cities could achieve co-control of the total amount of CO_(2) and local air *** employing the indicator of emission reduction equivalence(EReq),quantitative evaluation showed that the co-control level of the sample cities improved in 2015-2018 compared with *** regression analysis showed that,reducing coal consumption and economic development significantly enhanced the co-control performance of the observed *** present case study proved that the proposed methods for evaluation and comparison of the city co-control performance works well,and can be used in other countries and regions to promote global cities racing to carbon and local air pollutants co-control.

Polymorphism of thymidylate synthase gene associated with its protein expression in human colon cancer

AIM： To correlate the polymorphisms in the 5＇-untranslated region with thymidylate synthase （TS） protein expression in Han Chinese colonic neoplasms. METHODS： Adenocarcinoma samples were from 68 patients who received no treatment before surgery. Tandem repeat length of TS gene was determined by PCR amplification of genomic DNA. Intratumoral TS protein expression was studied immunohistochemically in corresponding sections from paraffin-embedded primary loci. Immunoreactivity was semiquantitatively evaluated by immunoreactivity score （IRS）. RESULTS： Double-（2R） and triple-repeated （3R） sequences of the TS gene were found in the cancer tissues. Three genotypes of TS were found： 2R/2R （n = 6）, 2R/3R （n = 22） and 3R/3R （n = 40）. Patients who were homozygous for triple-repeated （3R/3R） sequences showed significantly higher IRS of TS than patients who were homozygous for double-repeated （2R/2R） sequences or heterozygous patients （2R/3R）： 5.73 ±3.25 vs 2.17 ± 1.47 or 3.77 ±2.64, P = 0.008 or P = 0.015. But no statistical significance of IRS in cancer tissues was observed between 2R/3R genotype and 2R/2R genotype. CONCLUSION： There is a relationship between TS genotype and TS protein expression in clinical specimens. The data might offer an advantage for selection of Chinese cancer patients to receive fluoropyrimidines treatment.

Impact of the Political Risk on Food Reserve Ratio:Evidence Across Countries

Using an unbalanced panel data covering 75 countries from 1991 to 2019,the authors explore how the political risk impacts on food reserve *** empirical findings show that an increasing political risk negatively affects food reserve ratio,and the same effects hold for both internal risk and external ***,the authors find that the increasing external or internal risks both negatively affect food production and food exports,but external risk does not significantly impact food imports and it positively impacts food consumption,while internal risk negatively impacts food imports and food *** results suggest that most governments have difficulty raising subsequent food reserve ratios in face of an increasing political risk,no matter if it is an internal risk or an external risk although the mechanisms behind the impacts are different.

Follicular dendritic cell sarcoma detected in hepatogastric ligament:A case report and review of the literature

The most common organ where follicular dendritic cell sarcoma(FDCS) occurs is in cervical lymph nodes, while few cases are found in extranodal organs such as liver, spleen, and soft tissue. This is a case report that FDCS occurs in the hepatogastric ligament. To our knowledge, there is no such case that has been reported previously. A 47-year-old male patient was found to have an intraabdominal mass during an annual physical examination. Computed tomography showed a 4.2 cm × 4.1 cm mass located at the lesser curvature of the stomach, above the pancreas. During operation, a tumor mass was found in the hepatogastric ligament and a radical resection was performed. The tumor was diagnosed as FDCS by pathology and immunohistochemical testing. The patient had a favorable recovery, and no obvious abnormality was found 3 months postoperation.

The Dujiangyan Project,located at the junction of the upstream of the Minjiang River and Chengdu Plain,Sichuan Province,China,is an irrigation system project as important as the Great Wall in the history of *** dam structures,this project has been continuously playing its crucial role in diverting water for irrigation,separating sediments,and controlling flood for 2275 *** this study,the predicaments of the Dujiangyan Project under the background of rapid urbanization and social economic development were summarized by conducting the field research and using the Indicators of Hydrological alteration(IHA)method:excessive diversion of water,disruption of hydrological pulses,erosion and deposition imbalance and conflicts between power generation and water *** contradictions have led to the weakening of the function of automatic water diversion and sand removal in the Dujiangyan *** the influence of climate change and strong human activities,we pointed out the challenges faced by the millennium ancient weir in balancing human and environmental water usage and project operation and management based on the simulation results of the hydrological *** corresponding suggestions about strengthening agricultural water saving,generating artificial flood peak were provided to protect and continue to maintain the function of the Dujiangyan Project.

The Bi(0.5)Sb(1.4-x)NaxIn(0.1)Te3(x=0.02-0.20)alloys were fabricated by high vacuum melting and hotpressing *** phase structures and morphology of the bulk samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscope(SEM),*** of In and Na co-doping on the electrical and thermal transport properties were studied from room temperature to 500 *** coefficient of the Bi(0.5)Sb(1.5)Te3 can be enhanced by substituting Sb with In and Na at near room *** electrical conductivity of the In and Na co-doped samples is lower than that of the Bi(0.5)Sb(1.5)Te3 alloy from room temperature to 500 *** and Na co-doping of appropriate percentage optimizes the thermal conductivity of the Bi(0.5)Sb(1.5)Te3 *** minimum value of thermal conductivity of Bi(0.5)Sb(1.36)Na(0.04)In(0.1)Te3 alloy is 0.45 W·m^(-1) K^(-1) at 323 *** leads to a great improvement in the thermoelectric figure of merit(zT).The maximum zT value reaches 1.42 at 323 K.

Synthesis of uniform hexagonal Ag nanoprisms with controlled thickness and tunable surface plasmon bands

In this work,we synthesized monodispersed hexagonal Ag nanoprisms in high yields in a system of poly(vinylpyrrolidone)(PVP)in N-methylpyrrolidone(NMP).A blue shift occurred and was strongly dependent on the thickness of the uniform Ag nanoprisms,which had almost the same radial *** the Ag nanoprisms grew thicker,their in-plane dipole resonance peaks markedly shifted toward shorter wavelengths(i.e.,blue shift).PVP played a critical role of favoring vertical growth of the Ag nanoplates,preventing aggregation,and inducing the formation of Ag hexagonal nanoprisms(HNPs)through the transformation from thin Ag triangular nanoprisms(TNPs).Compared with similar previous research,the present study provides quite uniform Ag hexagonal nanoplates,which makes the blue shift related more solely and distinctly to the thickness of the Ag *** findings of this work provide a new perspective toward understanding the unique optical characteristics of Ag HNPs with different aspect ratios.

Facile synthesis of flake-like dihydrate zinc oxalate particles

Monodispersed dihydrated zinc oxalate(ZnC_2O_4·2H_2O) particles with characteristic morphology were synthesized by aging a mixed solution of zinc nitrate(Zn(NO_3)_2) and sodium oxalate(Na_2C_2O_4) in the presence of a citrate ligand, with an average flat size of approximately 10–15 μm. The important parameters, including the solution pH values and the concentration of the zinc ions and citrate ligand, were investigated using a series of experiments. It is verified that the citrate ligand significantly affects the morphology of zinc oxalate particles, probably via its multiple roles of chelating, dispersing, and selective absorption. Thermodynamic equilibrium of the distribution of zinc species in an aqueous solution of Zn(Ⅱ)-citrate-oxalate-H_2O was estimated to explain the experimental results and to clarify the size and morphological evolution mechanism of the precipitated particles.

Segmented tubular synthesis of monodispersed microsized copper oxalate

Monodispersed microsized copper oxalate particles were prepared in a segmented continuous flow tube reactor, and the effect of the main parameters such as organic additive agent, initial copper ions concentration, residence time, and segmented media on the final products were investigated experimentally. The obtained copper oxalate microsized particles were disc-like in the presence of citrate ligand,which was the shape inducer for the precipitated copper oxalate. Thermodynamic equilibrium diagrams of the Cu(Ⅱ)-oxalate-H_2O,Cu(Ⅱ)-oxalate-citrate-H_2O, and Cu(Ⅱ)-oxalate-EDTA-H_2O solution systems were drawn to estimate the possible copper species under the experimental conditions and to explain the formation mechanisms of copper oxalate particles in the segmented fluidic reactor. Both theoretical and experimental results indicated that the presence of chelating reagents such as citrate and EDTA had distinct effect on the evolution of particle shape. Air and kerosene were tested as media for the fluidic flow segmentation, and the latter was verified to better promote the growth of copper oxalate particles. The present study provides an easy method to prepare monodispersed copper oxalate microsized particles in a continuous scaling-up way, which can be utilized to prepare the precursor material for conductive inks.

Monodispersed copper oxalate paxticles with flaky morphology were prepared via a simple one-pot synthesis method. Scanning electron microscope （SEM）, X-ray diffraction （XRD）, and fourier tza^sform infraJced （FTIR） spectra were used to characterize paxticle mor- phology, size, phase composition, and functional groups. It was found that the presence of ethylenediaminetetzaacetic acid （EDTA） and the solution pH value had strong influence on the morphological and size evolution of the precipitated particles. On the basis of controlled re- lease of copper ions from a Cu2＋-EDTA complex and Weimazn＇s law, a stzategy for the controlled synthesis of monodispersed copper oxa- late paxticles was designed by refemng to the basic mode of the St0ber method. The inherent nature of crystallization to form the flaky solid in the early stage of precipitation as well as the driving force of the long-lasting low supersaturation in the growth stage was proposed to ex- plain the size and morphological evolution of the copper oxalate precipitates. Thermodynamic equilibrium concentrations of copper（II） spe- cies in the Cu（II）-EDTA-oxalate-H20 solution system were calculated to help explain the possible formation mechaNsm of copper oxalate precipitates.
