Endoscopic resection of sparganosis presenting as colon submucosal tumor: A case report

Human sparganosis is a rare parasitic disease caused by infection with the tapeworm Sparganum, the migrating plerocercoid(second stage) larva of Spirometra species. Sparganosis usually involves subcutaneous tissues and/or muscles of various parts of the body, but involvement of other sites such as the brain, eye, peritoneopleural cavity, urinary track, scrotum, and abdominal viscera has also been documented. Infections caused by sparganum have a worldwide distribution but are most common in Southeast Asia such as China, Japan, and South Korea. Rectal sparganosis is an uncommon disease but should be considered in the differential diagnosis of unusual and suspicious rectal submucosal tumors. We report a case of rectal sparganosis presenting as rectal submucosal tumor. We performed endoscopic submucosal dissection of the rectal submucosal tumor. The sparganosis was confirmed based on the presence of calcospherules in the submucosal layer on histological examination. Moreover, the result of the immunoglobulin G antibody test for sparganosis was positive but became negative after endoscopic submucosal dissection. Though rare, rectal sparganosis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of rectal submucosal tumor-like lesions. This case suggests that physicians should make effort to exclude sparganosis through careful diagnostic approaches, including detailed history taking and serological tests for parasites. In this report, we aimed to highlight the clinical presentation of Sparganum infection as a rectal submucosal tumor.

In this paper, we propose multiple CAMShift Algorithm based on Kalman filter and weighted search windows that extracts skin color area and tracks several human body parts for real-time human tracking system. The CAMShift Algorithm we propose searches the skin color region by detecting the skin color area from background model. Kalman filter stabilizes the floated search area of CAMShift Algorithm. Each occlusion areas are avoided by using weighted window of non-search areas and main-search area. And shadows are eliminated from background model and intensity of shadow. The proposed modified Camshaft algorithm can estimate human pose in real-time and achieves 96.82% accuracy even in the case of occlusions.

Small-scaled wind turbine is converted to mechanical power of windmill to electric power by generator. However almost all studies seems to have overlooked converting relation of mechanical & electric power. It the reason for was very difficult establishing wind turbine system. In this paper, it is define equation of converting relation of mechanical & electric power. And it is verified by experimental methods. Defined equation will be used in developing electric devices such as inverter and controller in wind turbines. In addition this method can be used in the fields that utilize the rotational power into electrical power through generator.

The frequency and intensity of extreme high temperature（EHT） in the northern hemisphere exhibit remarkable low-frequency（LF） variations in summer over the time period 1951-2017. Seven hotspots featuring both a high occurrence of EHT and large LF variations in EHT were identified in the northern hemisphere. The probability density functions show that the higher probabilities of the occurrence of EHT over these hotspots in recent decades are consistent with the shift in the mean temperature and an increased variance in the daily mean temperature. The common features of the LF variation in EHT frequency over all domains are a remarkable increasing trend and an evident decadal variations（DV）. The DV component makes the main contribution to the large LF variations. Further analysis shows that the DV over the six hotspots are the footprints of two dominant natural internal signals: the Atlantic Multi-decadal Oscillation（AMO） and the Inter-decadal Pacific Oscillation（IPO）. The coherent variation in temperature over western North America-Mexico, eastern Siberia, Europe, the Mongolian Plateau and southeastern China is significantly influenced by the AMO. The AMO contributes to the variations in temperature over the first four hotspots via its associated barotropic circum-global teleconnection, which imposes a striking anomalous pressure over these regions. The IPO governs the DV in temperature over the Indo-China Peninsula through an anomalous Walker circulation driven by the IPO-associated sea surface temperatures in the tropical Indian Ocean. The inconsistency between the in situ observations and the reanalysis datasets causes the uncertainty in the physical linkage between the natural internal variability and variations in EHT over southeastern China and the Indo-China Peninsula. This implies that natural internal forcing plays an important role in making hotspots more vulnerable to EHT.

Using the daily records derived from the synoptic weather stations and the NCEP/NCAR and ERA-Interim reanalysis data, the variability of the winter haze pollutions(indicated by the mean visibility and number of hazy days) in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH) region during the period 1981 to 2015 and its relationship to the atmospheric circulations in middle-high latitude were analyzed in this study. The winter haze pollution in BTH had distinct inter-annual and inter-decadal variabilities without a significant long-term trend. According to the spatial distribution of correlation coefficients, six atmospheric circulation indices(I1 to I6) were defined from the key areas in sea level pressure(SLP), zonal and meridional winds at 850 h Pa(U850, V850), geopotential height field at 500 h Pa(H500), zonal wind at 200 h Pa(U200), and air temperature at 200 h Pa(T200), respectively. All of the six indices have significant and stable correlations with the winter visibility and number of hazy days in BTH. In the raw(unfiltered) correlations, the correlation coefficients between the six indices and the winter visibility(number of hazy days) varied from 0.57(0.47) to 0.76(0.6) with an average of 0.65(0.54);in the high-frequency(<10 yr) correlations, the coefficients varied from 0.62(0.58) to 0.8(0.69) with an average of 0.69(0.64). The six circulation indices together can explain 77.7%(78.7%) and 61.7%(69.1%) variances of the winter visibility and number of hazy days in the year-to-year(inter-annual) variability, srespectively. The increase of Ic(a comprehensive index derived from the six individual circulation indices) can cause a shallowing of the East Asian trough at the middle troposphereand a weakening of the Siberian high pressure field at sea level, and then accompanied by a reduction(increase) of horizontal advection and vertical convection(relative humidity) in the lowest troposphere and a reduced boundary layer height in BTH and its neighboring areas, which are favorable for t

AIM To report naturally occurring mutations in the reverse transcriptase region(RT) of hepatitis B virus(HBV) polymerase from treatment na?ve Korean chronic patients infected with genotype *** Here, full-length HBV reverse transcriptase RT sequences were amplified and sequenced from 131 treatment na?ve Korean patients chronically infected with hepatitis B genotype C2. The patients had two distinct clinical statuses: 59 patients with chronic hepatitis(CH) and 72 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). The deduced amino acids(AAs) at42 previously reported potential nucleos(t)ide analog resistance(NAr) mutation positions in the RT region were analyzed. RESULTS Potential NAr mutations involving 24 positions were found in 79 of the 131 patients(60.3%). Notably, AA substitutions at 2 positions(rt184 and rt204) involved in primary drug resistance and at 2 positions(rt80 and rt180) that functioned as secondary/compensatory mutations were detected in 10 patients(1 CH patient and 9 HCC patients) and 7 patients(1 CH and 6 HCC patients), respectively. The overall mutation frequencies in the HCC patients(3.17%, 96/3024 mutations) were significantly higher than the frequencies in the CH patients(2.09%, 52/2478 mutations)(P = 0.003). In addition, a total of 3 NAr positions, rt80, rt139 and rt204 were found to be significantly related to HCC from treatment na?ve Korean patients. CONCLUSION Our data showed that naturally occurring NAr mutations in South Korea might contribute to liver disease progression(particularly HCC generation) in chronic patients with genotype C2 infections.

This study configures a simple wind tunnel using a blower for generating wind energy, which is equivalent to natural wind, and a test system that measures properties of power. Also, the mechanical and electrical power in a small-scaled wind turbine are empirically measured to analyze the relationship between the mechanical and electrical power.
