Factors of heavy social media use among 13-year-old adolescents on weekdays and weekends

Background Few studies have investigated which factors were related to adolescents'social media *** study aimed to evaluate which factors were associated with heavy social media use on weekdays and weekends among 13-year-old *** We analyzed data from 3727 children from the Generation R Study,a population-based cohort study in the *** of demographic factors(child age,sex,ethnic background,and family situation),socioeconomic posi-tion(parental educational level,parental employment status,and net household income),screen-based behaviors(computer playing and TV viewing),and the home environment(communication,supervision,and restriction)with adolescents'heavy social media use(≥2 hours/day)were assessed separately on weekdays and *** logistic regression analysis was *** The prevalence of heavy social media use was 37.7%on a weekday and 59.6%on a weekend *** a girl,liv-ing in a one-parent family,and more time spent playing on the computer were associated with heavy social media use on weekdays and weekends(all P<0.05).Low socioeconomic position adolescents(low parental educational level and low household income)were more likely to show heavy social media use only on weekends(all P<0.05).Children whose social media use was restricted by parents on weekdays or children whose social media use was supervised by parents on weekends had lower odds of heavy social media use(all P<0.05).Conclusions Being a girl,living in a one-parent family,or having a longer computer playing time were associated with heavy social media use on weekdays and *** studies are needed to understand the factors associated with heavy social media use and the impact of heavy social media use on child health.

A cross bow-tie dipole feed with cavity and symmetrical E and H plane pattern is presented for the Five hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST).In this paper we describe the design,optimization and simulation results of a wide-band cross dipole feed with cavity covering the frequency range from 300 MHz to 600 MHz for *** main goals of our design are to ensure that,(1)we cover the octave bandwidth,(2)the feed has symmetrical E and H plane pattern,and(3)the physical dimension is suitable for mounting it in the reserved position of the FAST feed *** initial results indicate that we have met most of our design *** kind of feed had been equipped with the multi-beam receiver to carry out observation on the platform of FAST cabin.

Studying solutions for the fatigue of the FAST cable-net structure caused by the process of changing shape

The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope （FAST） is supported by a cable-net structure, whose change in shape leads to a stress range of approximately 500 MPa. This stress range is more than twice the standard recom- mended value. The cable-net structure is thus the most critical and fragile part of the FAST reflector system. In this study, we first search for a more appropriate deforma- tion strategy that reduces the stress amplitude generated by the process of changing shape. Second, we roughly estimate the tracking trajectory of the telescope during its service life, and conduct an extensive numerical investigation to assess the require- ments for fatigue resistance. Finally, we develop a new type of steel cable system that satisfies the cable requirements for construction of FAST.

To improve the security and effectiveness of mobile robot path planning, a slime mould rapid-expansion random tree(S-RRT) algorithm is proposed. This path planning algorithm is designed based on a biological optimization model and a rapid-expansion random tree(RRT) algorithm. S-RRT algorithm can use the function of optimal direction to constrain the generation of a new node. By controlling the generation direction of the new node, an optimized path can be achieved. Thus, the path oscillation is reduced and the planning time is shortened. It is proved that S-RRT algorithm overcomes the limitation of paths zigzag of RRT algorithm through theoretical analysis. Experiments show that S-RRT algorithm is superior to RRT algorithm in terms of safety and efficiency.

Human motion prediction is a critical issue in human-robot collaboration(HRC)*** order to reduce the local error caused by the limitation of the capture range and sampling frequency of the depth sensor,a hybrid human motion prediction algorithm,optimized sliding window polynomial fitting and recursive least squares(OSWPF-RLS)was *** OSWPF-RLS algorithm uses the human body joint data obtained under the HRC task as input,and uses recursive least squares(RLS)to predict the human movement trajectories within the time ***,the optimized sliding window polynomial fitting(OSWPF)is used to calculate the multi-step prediction value,and the increment of multi-step prediction value was appropriately *** results show that compared with the existing benchmark algorithms,the OSWPF-RLS algorithm improved the multi-step prediction accuracy of human motion and enhanced the ability to respond to different human movements.

Photochromic liquid crystal polymer(LCP)films can undergo spontaneous mechanical deformations upon light *** light-induced strain is due to photoisomerization and the nematic–isotropic phase transition.A gradient strain exists due to absorption decay of the light intensity and will produce bending of LCP *** bending models are studied for single layered and bilayered LCP strips with *** results show that the multilayered structures can have much larger bending curvature due to the utilization of the average light-induced contractions which were mostly not active for single-layered *** structural optimizations for bilayered laminate are also discussed.

Diabetic kidney disease(DKD)is the most common complication of diabetes mellitus(DM).Qianjin Wenwu decoction(QWD),a well-known traditional Korean medicine,has been used for the treatment of DKD,with satisfactory therapeutic *** study was designed to investigate the active components and mechanisms of action of QWD in the treatment of *** results demonstrated that a total of 13 active components in five types were found in QwD,including flavonoids,flavonoid glycosides,phenylpropionic acids,saponins,coumarins,and *** key proteins,TGF-β1 and TIMP-1,were identified as the target proteins through molecular ***,QWD significantly suppressed Scr and BUN levels which increased after unilateral ureteral obstruction(UUO).Hematoxylin&eosin(H&E)and Masson staining results demonstrated that QWD significantly alleviated renal interstitial fibrosis in UUO *** also found that QWD promoted ECM degradation by regulating MMP-9/TIMP-1 homeostasis to improve renal tubulointerstitial fibrosis and interfere with the expression and activity of TGF-βl in DKD *** findings explain the underlying mechanism of QWD for the treatment of DKD,and also provide methodological reference for investigating the mechanism of traditional medicine in the treatment of DKD.

EMC design for actuators in the FAST reflector

An active reflector is one of the three main innovations incorporated in the Five-hundredmeter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope（FAST）.The deformation of such a huge spherically shaped reflector into different transient parabolic shapes is achieved by using 2225 hydraulic actuators which change the position of the 2225 nodes through the connected down tied *** each different tracking process of the telescope,more than 1/3 of these 2225 actuators must be in operation to tune the parabolic aperture accurately and meet the surface error *** means that some of these actuators are inevitably located within the main beam of the receiver,and Electromagnetic Interference（EMI）from the actuators must be mitigated to ensure the scientific output of the *** on the threshold level of interference detrimental to radio astronomy described in ITU-R Recommendation RA.769 and EMI measurements,the shielding efficiency（SE）requirement for each actuator is set to be 80 d B in the frequency range from 70 MHz to 3 ***,Electromagnetic Compatibility（EMC）was taken into account in the actuator design by measures such as power line filters,optical fibers,shielding enclosures and other structural *** 2015,all the actuators had been installed at the FAST *** now,no apparent EMI from the actuators has been detected by the receiver,which demonstrates the effectiveness of these EMC measures.
