如何在产品多样性和控制成本目标之间取得平衡是现在许多公司都会遇到的难题。模块化设计通过拆分出可以被一系列产品使用的通用部件组合,被认为有望解决这一难题。但模块化设计同样需要成本管理支持,尤其因为涉及多个产品开发项目,模块化设计需要更为精巧的成本管理来协调多个相互紧密关联的开发项目。本文通过对马自达公司模块化设计实践的创新型成本管理方法进行的实地研究,补充了针对模块化设计的成本管理方法研究的空白,为应用模块化设计的企业提供了重要参考和启示。

We report a case of supra-annular mitral valve replacement for a patient with prosthetic ring endocarditis that developed late after undergoing undersized mitral annuloplasty (UMAP). A 58-year-old man had undergone left ventriculoplasty and UMAP with a 26-mm semi-rigid full ring for dilated cardiomyopathy and functional mitral regurgitation. The mitral valve had progressively stenosed and he developed prosthetic ring endocarditis 5 years after the operation. In the surgery, there were brownish fresh vegetations around the anterior mitral leaflet and the prosthetic ring. The mitral annulus was very small, even after removal of the infected ring prosthesis and debridement of the infected tissues. We implanted a 22-mm mechanical prosthesis in the supra-annular position using everting mattress sutures to prevent the valve leaflets from getting stuck by the thickened subannular tissue. Herein, we discuss the surgical procedures for a shrunken mitral annulus.

Single-Proton Pickup Reaction of the Halo Nucleus ^6He on a ^9Be Target at 25 MeV/nucleon

The inclusive differential cross sections of the 7Li nucleus in a reaction induced by 6He on a 9Be target are measured at an incident energy of 25MeV/nucleon. Finite-range distorted-wave Born approximation calculations suggest that these 7Li particles are formed in a direct single-proton pickup reaction 9Be(6He,7Li)8Li. The experimental data can be well reproduced by taking into account of the contributions of both the ground states and the first excited states of 7Li and 8Li.

In Japan, 18.1% of the population known as baby-boomers will become the late-stage elderly in 2025, thereby needing a foundation to support this change. The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare is promoting the development of a regional comprehensive system allowing the elderly to continue living in their familiar surroundings. However, a care shortage is inevitable unless elders are able to age in good health, regardless of the system’s level of enhancement. This study aims to review the literature on active aging, clarify trends in clinical operations undertakings and research in Japan, and consider relevant research issues. After combining the search results of “active aging” and “healthy life expectancy,” we used a text mining technique to analyze the abstracts of 120 original articles and 213 reviews, commentaries, and features. Eight categories were extracted from the original articles: health statistics, gender, age, etc. From the reviews, commentaries, and features, 16 categories were extracted: orientation, disease, and living, etc. Cerebrovascular disease and osteoporosis were the most common diseases covered in the original articles;there has been a substantial amount of research on “active aging” and “healthy life expectancy” because they can easily lead to being bedridden and to a decrease in QOL. In the reviews, commentaries, and features, lifestyle-related diseases and menopause rather than cerebrovascular disease and osteoporosis, were extracted. The categorical differences found in the original articles may be due to the possibility that Japanese researchers are publishing their research abroad rather than in Japan or they submit research on topics that are guaranteed to be published at home or abroad. Little research has been conducted using the terms, “active aging” and “healthy life expectancy,” evidenced by the small number of studies generated. Eu3+-doped gadolinium oxyhydroxide Gd1-xEuxOOH crystals were synthesized by the flux method. The X-ray diffraction data for the crystals were well refined assuming a monoclinic structure with the P21/m space group. Gd1-xEuxOOH (x ≤ 0.2) crystals showed strong red emission, and the highest fluorescence quantum yield (Φf) was 0.27, obtained for x = 0.10. Φf decreased rapidly as the Eu3+ content x increased above 0.2, owing to concentration quenching. Analysis with a percolation model indicated three-dimensional energy transfer between the Eu3+ ions.

The purpose of this research was to investigate occupational stress and its related factors among university teachers in Japan. Questionnaire surveys were mailed to 924 university teachers in Japan with a response rate of 43.8%, N = 405. The General Health Questionnaire 28 (GHQ-28), Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), short Japanese version of brief Coping Orientation to Problems Experienced (COPE) and the Work Situation Questionnaires (WSQ) developed by the authors were administered to participants. Results indicated that university teachers had some mental health problems in relation to gender, professional position, conditions of taking paid leave, job satisfaction, job control, social support, and coping skills. These findings provide evidence that in order to improve the mental health of university, teachers need to take their paid leave freely. It is important to keep high their job satisfaction levels, job control levels, and social support. The results also indicated that the ineffective coping styles lead to poor mental health. In addition, the findings identified the necessity for support of female teachers and younger lecturers, who had a greater tendency toward poor mental health.

Background/Aims: Liver resection represents the treatment of choice for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) arising in well-compensated cirrhosis. Gene expression of the multifunctional cytokine, Oncostatin M (OSM), stimulates liver regeneration and adenoviral vector expressing OSM (AdOSM) allows a persistent expression of the gene. The aim of this study is to evaluate the benefits of the preoperative injection of AdOSM to the remnant lobes to regenerate the liver. Methods: A 70% partial hepatectomy was performed in dimethylnitrosamine-administrated cirrhotic rats with a preoperative injection of AdOSM, adenoviral vector carrying β-galactosidase (AdLacZ), or phosphate-buffered saline (PBS). The morphologic, histologic, and biochemical changes in the remnant liver and survival rates were then assessed. Results: Portal injection with clamping the portal branches of the resected lobes for 5 min made it possible to effectively transduce the adenoviral vector into the remnant lobes. The ratio of the remnant liver weight/body weight (%) was 2.3 ± 0.5 in the AdOSM group, 1.1 ± 0.3 in the AdLacZ group (p < 0.001), and 1.6 ± 0.4 in the PBS group (p = 0.02). The fibrous ratio (%) was 21.3 ± 4.6 in the AdOSM group and 35.2 ± 4.5 in the AdLacZ group on day 4 after hepatectomy and fibrous status was significantly decreased in the AdOSM group (p = 0.02). Serum hyaluronic acid which is the indicator of liver fibrosis was 215 ± 141 ng/mL in the AdOSM group and 1963 ± 1225 ng/mL in the AdLacZ group (p = 0.03). Conclusions: The OSM gene therapy may increase the possibility of hepatectomy in a cirrhotic liver by improving fibrosis, hepatic function, and hepatocyte regeneration.
