The spread of data-driven materials research has increased the need for systematically designed materials property ***,the development of polymer databases has lagged far behind other material *** present RadonPy,an open-source library that can automate the complete process of all-atom classical molecular dynamics(MD)simulations applicable to a wide variety of polymeric ***,15 different properties were calculated for more than 1000 amorphous *** MD-calculated properties were systematically compared with experimental data to validate the calculation conditions;the bias and variance in the MD-calculated properties were successfully calibrated by a machine learning *** the high-throughput data production,we identified eight amorphous polymers with extremely high thermal conductivity(>0.4 W∙m^(–1)∙K^(–1))and their underlying *** to the advancement of materials informatics since the advent of computational property databases for inorganic crystals,database construction using RadonPy will promote the development of polymer informatics.

Random Vibration Control of Laminated Composite Plates with Piezoelectric Fiber Reinforced Composites

This paper presents an analysis of the active control of random vibration for lami- nated composite plates using piezoelectric fiber reinforced composites （PFRC）. With Hamilton＇s principle and the Rayleigh-Ritz method, the equation of motion for the resulting electromechani- cal coupling system is derived. A velocity feedback control rule is employed to obtain an effective active damping in the suppression of random vibration. The power spectral density and mean- square displacements of the random vibration for laminated plates under different control gains are simulated and the validity of the present control strategy is confirmed. The effect of piezoelec- tric fiber orientation in the PFRC layer on the random vibration suppression is also investigated. The analytical methodology can be expanded to other kinds of random vibration.

Transitions of histopathologic criteria for diagnosis of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease during the last three decades

Diagnosis of mild chronic pancreatitis (Cambridge classification):Comparative study using secretin injection-magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography and endoscopic retrograde pancreatography

AIM： To investigate the usefulness of secretin injection- MRCP for the diagnosis of mild chronic pancreatitis.METHODS： Sixteen patients having mild chronic pancreatitis according to the Cambridge classification and 12 control subjects with no abnormal findings on the pancreatogram were examined for the diagnostic accuracy of secretin injection-MRCP regarding abnormal branch pancreatic ducts associated with mild chronic pancreatitis （Cambridge Classification）, using endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography （ERCP） for comparison.RESULTS： The sensitivity and specificity for abnormal branch pancreatic ducts determined by two reviewers were respectively 55%-63% and 75%-83% in the head, 57%-64% and 82%-83% in the body, and 44%-44% and 72%-76% in the tail of the pancreas. The sensitivity and specificity for mild chronic pancreatitis were 56%-63% and 92%-92%, respectively. Interobserver agreement （K statistics） concerning the diagnosis of an abnormal branch pancreatic duct and of mild chronic pancreatitis was good to excellent.CONCLUSION： Secretin injection-MRCP might be useful for the diagnosis of mild chronic pancreatitis.

Root pruning is effective in alleviating the inhibition of soybean growth caused by anaerobic stress for a short period

Soybean is an important upland crop,but its productivity is often limited by anaerobic stress caused by *** ability to adjust root growth under environmental constraints is an important physiological trait for adapting to an everchanging environment,and root pruning is an artificial technique for regenerating the root *** the present study,we investigated whether root pruning in soybean can effectively alleviate the inhibitory effects of anaerobic *** plants were affected by anaerobic stress at the germination,vegetative stage 1(V1),and reproductive stage 1(R1)stages,and then the plants were treated with root pruning just after the stress *** plants at the germination stage were treated with root cap and tip removals after hypoxia(N_(2)treatment).Root cap removal was more effective in suppressing the inhibitory effects of hypoxia than root tip removal(5 mm from the tip).The shoot dry weights of the soybean plants with and without root cap removal after hypoxia were 51.2 and 73.8%of the control,respectively,while the root dry weights of plants with and without root cap removal after hypoxia were 43.2 and 62.8%of the control,*** root cap removal effectively enhanced soybean growth after anaerobic stress,the root cap may be the candidate tissue for the stress memory *** soybean plants at the V1 stage of growth were affected by anaerobic stress,the branch number,pod weight in the main stem,root length,and root surface area of the soybean plants treated with anaerobic stress at the R1 stage significantly decreased compared with those of the *** contrast,root pruning(2 mm from the tip)immediately after the stress treatment enhanced root growth,branch number,and pod *** branch number,pod weight,root length,and root surface area of the plants treated with root pruning were 1.13,1.14,1.12,and 1.13 times higher than those of plants treated with anaerobic *** was observed in the roo

Cooling Curve's Effect on Hardening Behavior of Steel

Quenching Oils are comprised mostly of mineral oil as major component, but mineral oil alone result in lower cooling performance. Therefore, various additives are formulated as required for each particular case. Cooling curves of mineral oil as determined by JIS method can be divided into three stages, vapor film stage, boiling stage and convection stage. And there are many types of additives used for quenching oil, one effective to shorten vapor film stage and another to shift boiling stage toward lower temperature side. As rapid quenching required temperature range for particular steel varies pending on its shape of CCT curve"1, it is possible to provide higher quench hardening performance using quenching oil formulated of adequate additives.

The purpose of this paper is to study the dynamic behavior of softground including a porous layer by considering porosity change. Inorder to take the porosity change into account, the concept of thevolume fraction, which has been proposed in continuum mechanics, isintroduced. The constitutive equations presented by Bowen are appliedto the analysis of the porous media. Mallet Toe of the Hallux Treated by Bridging Suture Technique Using Suture Anchors: A Case Report and Literature Review

An avulsion fracture of the extensor hallucis longus at the distal end of the great toe is called “mallet toe” of the hallux. It is a rare injury and the treatment options are conservative treatment using a splint, percutaneous or open Kirschner wire fixation similar to that in the mallet finger, or suture anchor fixation. We present a case treated by the bridging technique using two suture anchors. A 57-year-old Japanese man injured his left great toe after a fall while walking barefoot on the bed. His great toe was forced into a hyperplantarflexion position. Plain radiography and computed tomography showed a small bone fragment at the base of the dorsal distal phalanx, suggesting an avulsion fracture of the extensor hallucis longus. He was treated by bridging suture technique with two suture anchors. At first, two suture anchors were inserted to the fracture bed of the distal phalanx, and then the bone fragment and extensor hallucis longus tendon were secured with two horizontal mattress sutures. Finally, bridging sutures were performed using the remaining sutures and the sutures used for mattress suturing. He obtained bony union and symmetric range of motion of the interphalangeal joint. This technique allowed us to fix the small bone fragment rigidly and mobilize the interphalangeal joint earlier to preserve the range of motion. It would be a valuable procedure when the bone fragment is small.
