Production of naturally flavoured and carbonated beverages using Williopsis saturnus yeast and cold fermentation process

This study was carried out to develop a new functional fermented beverage that combines both the functional composition of grape(Tarsus beyazi)juice and metabolic products of the yeast Williopsis *** this reason,two trials were ***,the effect of different inoculation ratios and low fermentation temperatures at different times was *** naturally flavoured beverages,there was generally a decrease in total phenolic substance,antioxidant activity and total flavonoid amount with increasing fermentation time and inoculation *** panellists chose b-15d(1×10^(6)cells/mL *** yeast addition,15 days fermentation)and then c-15d(1×10^(7)cells/mL *** yeast addition,15 days fermentation)the most out of different beverages *** performed with yeasts inoculated at the rate of 1×10^(6)and 1×10^(7)cells/mL for 15 days was selected for the second trials based on both general and sensory *** this reason,these beverages,which were most preferred by the panellists,were re-manufactured and naturally flavoured carbonated beverages were produced by adding CO2 with the post-mix ***,sucrose,glucose and fructose values were determined in lower amounts in natural flavoured carbonated beverages compared to grape juice,which is given importance by *** in naturally flavoured beverages,carbonated beverages also decreased in total phenolic substance,antioxidant activity and total flavonoid amount with increasing fermentation *** addition,the c-15d natural flavoured carbonated beverage(1×10^(7)cells/mL *** yeast addition,15 days fermentation)was more favoured by the panellists than the commercially purchased carbonated *** results reported here are considered to be a good starting point for the development of new naturally flavoured and/or carbonated fermented beverages from the under-consumed grape.

In a recent article published in Cell,Molgora et al.1 reported that a subset of tumor-infiltrating macrophages with TREM2 expression creates an immunosuppressive microenvironment that promotes tumor growth while suppressing anti-tumor immune *** these TREM2+macrophages via genetic ablation of the gene or specific antibodies against the protein reduces tumor growth in animal models;however,it further attenuates tumor growth when combined with immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICI)by promoting the expression of immunostimulatory molecules(Fig.1).

True unilateral posterior crossbite in adults is a challenging malocclusion to treat,especially when we need to correct cross-arch segments with unwanted effects on non-cross *** expansion methods are expected to have some shortcomings;the Unilateral dental expander appliance used to restore unilateral cross bite dental arch is an uncommon appliance;for this,a designed new device is *** paper aimed to invite a new unilateral dental expander appliance(UDEX)to treat unilateral dental posterior crossbite in adults using available dental material,easy to use and handle,well tolerated by the patient,and biocompatible with oral *** could find that in all dental markets and dental clinics—an eighteen-year-old female with bilateral crossbite and upper and lower dental arch *** active orthodontic treatment,a quad-helix expander had broken from one side at soldering between band and wire *** patient did not show up to the clinic for a while due to COVID 19 pandemic lockdown,leading to a true unilateral crossbite at the dental arch’s upper left side,especially at the molar premolars *** unilateral cross bite was treated using a new specially designed expanded appliance as a unilateral posterior cross bite dental maxillary *** a result of this study,orthodontic treatment was finished within(15)months,much less than *** obtained Class I molar and canine relationships with uncrossed dental arches in both upper arch sides,proper overbite and overjet with well-leveled and aligned teeth as it confirmed by clinical examination and radiographic images(OPG Orthopantomogram)and cephalometric radiograph(WebCeph analysis digitalized computer program).Conclude from that,the newly designed unilateral dental expander(UDEX)is proven to be useful for treating real unilateral posterior crossbites as single molar or premolar tooth and multiple joint unilateral crossed posterior ***,it could easily modify it fo

We perform the first-principles investigations of the structural,elastic,electronic,and optical properties of SrBO3(B=Cr,Fe)perovskites under pressure based on density functional theory(DFT).This is the first detailed pressure-dependent study of the physical properties for these *** calculated structural parameters are consistent with the existing experimental results and slightly decrease with the application of *** mechanical properties are discussed in detail and reveal that the SrCrO3 is harder than *** pressure,these compounds behave like half-metals,confirmed by their band structure and density of *** the SrCrO3 retains its half-metallic nature under pressure,SrFeO3 becomes metallic for both up-spin and down-spin *** charge density and bond overlap population reveal the covalent nature of Cr–O bond and Fe–O bond in the studied *** optical properties of SrBO3,also discussed for the first time,reveal some interesting results.

Crack Propagation in Pipelines Under Extreme Conditions of Near-Neutral PH SCC

Stress Corrosion Cracking(SCC)process through which cracks occur in a variety of susceptible materials is a result of a combination of residual or applied stresses and *** oil and gas field,buried pipeline steels are made of low-alloy steels with a ferritic-pearlitic structure,such as *** dilute solutions,these materials are prone to SCC *** Near-neutral simulated soil solution(NS4)solution is established to imitate SCC conditions and subsequently became the industry requirement for crack growth experiments in the majority of *** strainassisted active crack pathways are considered while modelling SCC growth as an oxide film rupture and anodic dissolution ***’s been hypothesized that increasing the strain concentration can help with dissolution at the filmfree crack *** research focuses on estimating the SCC crack growth rate under various environmental conditions in oil and gas pipelines using finite element *** simulation is carried out using the J-integral theory in the COMSOL Multiphysics *** are performed to model the crack growth rate(CGR)using slip anodic dissolution(film rupture)*** plastic strain gradient is required to compute the SCC CGR(da/dt).Because the plastic strain located at crack tip increases proportionally to the crack length as it propagates,the CGR increases as the stress intensity factor(SIF)*** crack growth rates increase when constant loads are applied and as the temperature rises,and elevating the cathodic potential has a minimal influence on the propagation rate of cracks but raises the material yield strength and imparts brittle behavior to it.

Dissociative symptoms and dissociative disorders comorbidity in obsessive compulsive disorder: Symptom screening, diagnostic tools and reflections on treatment

Borderline personality disorder, conversion disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder frequently have dissociative symptoms. The literature has demonstrated that the level of dissociation might be correlated with the severity of obsessive compulsive disorder(OCD) and that those not responding to treatment had high dissociative symptoms. The structured clinical interview for DSM-IV dissociative disorders, dissociation questionnaire, somatoform dissociation questionnaire and dissociative experiences scale can be used for screening dissociative symptoms and detecting dissociative disorders in patients with OCD. However, a history of neglect and abuse during childhood is linked to a risk factor in the pathogenesis of dissociative psychopathology in adults. The childhood trauma questionnaire-53 and childhood trauma questionnaire-40 can be used for this purpose. Clinicians should not fail to notice the hidden dissociative symptoms and childhood traumatic experiences in OCD cases with severe symptoms that are resistant to treatment. Symptom screening and diagnostic tools used for this purpose should be known. Knowing how to treat these pathologies in patients who are diagnosed with OCD can be crucial.

External beam radiotherapy for localized prostate cancer

Radiotherapy （XRT） is a curative treatment option for prostate cancer （PCa）. Recent XRT technologies allow higher dose therapy that lead to increased local control with less adjacent tissue damage. Additionally, receiving neo-adjuvant or adjuvant hormonotherapy （HT） during radiation therapy increases the curative effect. ＂lhe aim of this paper is to review the current literature and guidelines on external beam radiation therapy for PCa. However, brachytherapy and radiosurgery, a recently evolving relatively new technology for the radiotherapeutic management of localized PCa, are beyond the scope of this paper.

Radiation induced decontamination of Cr(Ⅵ),Cu(Ⅱ) and phenol in some tannery effluents

Industrialization has led to a number of environmental problems, such as release of toxic metals and other toxic organic and inorganic compounds to the environment. Among all, the rapid expansion of leather related industries in Pakistan have resulted in considerable environmental problems and effluents from processing of both domestic and imported hides and skins have increased pollution to alarming levels. Some tannery effluents of Peshawar area investigated in the present study showed high concentrations of Cr(Ⅵ) (2.7-12.6 mg/L), Cu(Ⅱ) (2.6-11.4 mg/L) and phenol (0.1-4.2 mg/L). These contaminants are very toxic and must be removed from effluents before releasing into water bodies. A new technique of gamma irradiation has been investigated to decrease the load of COD and concentrations of Cr(Ⅵ), Cu(Ⅱ) and phenol associated with tannery effluents to the permitted values. It was observed that concentration of Cr(Ⅵ) in the effluents can be brought to the permitted level by applying radiation dose of 3 kGy. A radiation dose of 2.5 kGy was required to remove more than 95% of Cu(Ⅱ) and 100 % degradation of phenol in tannery effluents could be achieved by only one kGy of radiation dose.
