In this review intended for medical staff involved in patient rehabilitation,we provided an overview of the basic methods for managing amputation *** the amputation surgery,it is imperative to optimize the remaining physical abilities of the amputee through rehabilitation processes,including postoperative rehabilitation,desensitization,and continuous application of soft or rigid dressings for pain reduction and shaping of the *** on the situation,a prosthesis may be worn in the early stage of recovery or an immediate postoperative prosthesis may be applied to promote stump ***,to maintain the range of motion of the stump and to prevent deformation,the remaining portion of the limb should be positioned to prevent *** exercises should also be performed to improve muscle strength to ensure that the amputee is able to perform activities of daily living,***,clean wound or edema management of the stump is necessary to prevent problems associated with wearing the *** review is expected to contribute to the establishment of basic protocols that will be useful for stump management from the time of completion of amputation surgery to the fitting of a prosthesis to optimize patient recovery.

BACKGROUND Life-threatening hypoxia can occur in patients with lung cancer due to bronchial *** membrane oxygenation(ECMO)can be used as a bridge therapy for patients with severe hypoxia not relieved by conventional mechanical ***,the usefulness of chemotherapy in patients with lung cancer receiving ECMO therapy is not well *** SUMMARY A 53-year-old man visited the emergency room with worsening dyspnea for 1 mo.A series of imaging and diagnostic tests were performed,and stageⅢB(cT4N2M0)lung cancer was eventually *** hospital day 3,he experienced dyspnea and hypoxia that was not relieved with oxygen support via a high-flow nasal *** was initiated because his respiratory condition did not improve even with mechanical *** patient then underwent gemcitabine/cisplatin chemotherapy without dose reduction while on *** two cycles of chemotherapy,there was a decrease in the size of the primary tumor in the right main *** the completion of concurrent chemoradiotherapy,a computed tomography scan revealed further improvement in the right main bronchus *** months after a lung cancer diagnosis,the patient did well without any *** ECMO is a potential bridge therapy for respiratory failure in patients with central airway obstruction secondary to lung cancer.

Passive daytime radiative cooling(PDRC) is useful for thermal management because it allows an object to emit terrestrial heat into space without the use of additional *** produce sub-ambient temperatures under direct sunlight,PDRC materials are designed to reduce their absorption of solar energy and to enhance their long-wavelength infrared(LWIR) *** recent years,many photonic structures and polymer composites have been studied to improve the cooling system of ***,in cold weather(i.e. during winter in cold climates),buildings need to be kept warm rather than cooled due to heat *** overcome this limitation,temperature-responsive radiative cooling is a promising *** the present study,adaptive radiative cooling(ARC) film fabricated from a polydimethylsiloxane/hollow SiO_(2) microsphere/thermochromic pigment composite was *** found that the ARC film absorbed solar radiation under cold conditions while exhibiting radiative cooling at ambient temperatures above 40℃.Thus,in outdoor experiments,the ARC film achieved sub-ambient temperatures and had a theoretical cooling power of 63.2 W/m~2 in hot *** also demonstrated that radiative cooling with an energy harvesting system could be used to improve the energy management of buildings,with the thermoelectric module continuously generating output power using the ARC ***,we believe that our proposed ARC film can be employed for efficient thermal management of buildings and all-season energy harvesting in the near future.

Background:In crisis intervention sites such as infectious disease disasters,counselors are repeatedly exposed,directly or indirectly,to the traumatic experiences of *** counseling has a negative effect on coun-selors,which can eventually interfere with the counseling process for disaster ***,exploring and understanding the experiences of counselors is necessary to ensure that qualitative counseling for disaster victims can be continuously and efficiently ***:This study investigated the experiences of counselors who participated in mental health counseling as psychological support for victims of the COVID-19 disaster in ***:This is a qualitative ***:The study participants comprised 18 counselors who had mental health professional qualifications of level 2 or higher and who had provided mental health counseling for COVID-19 confirmed cases and quarantined ***:Data were collected using focus group interviews from February 21 to May 29,*** duration of each interview was 60–90 min,and the data were analyzed using content ***:Thefinal theme was“Continuing to walk this road anytime,anywhere.”The par-ticipants’experiences were identified in four sub-themes:“being deployed to unprepared counseling,”“encoun-tering various difficulties,”“feeling full of meaning and value,”and“hoping to become a better counselor.”Conclusions:In order to continuously provide qualitative counseling in case of an infectious disease disaster such as COVID-19,it is important to develop a qualification and competency strengthening program through educa-tion and training to secure the crisis intervention expertise of counselors according to the characteristics of the *** addition,a psychological support manual for each disaster should be prepared at the national level according to the type of disaster.

With the increasing number of digital devices generating a vast amount of video data,the recognition of abnormal image patterns has become more ***,it is necessary to develop a method that achieves this task using object and behavior information within video *** methods for detecting abnormal behaviors only focus on simple motions,therefore they cannot determine the overall behavior occurring throughout a *** this study,an abnormal behavior detection method that uses deep learning(DL)-based video-data structuring is *** and motions are first extracted from continuous images by combining existing DL-based image analysis *** weight of the continuous data pattern is then analyzed through data structuring to classify the overall *** performance of the proposed method was evaluated using varying parameter settings,such as the size of the action clip and interval between action *** model achieved an accuracy of 0.9817,indicating excellent ***,we conclude that the proposed data structuring method is useful in detecting and classifying abnormal behaviors.

Mild cognitive impairment(MCI)is a precursor to Alzheimer’s *** is imperative to develop a proper treatment for this neurological disease in the aging *** observational study investigated the effects of acupuncture therapy on MCI *** healthy individuals and eleven MCI patients were recruited for this ***-and deoxy-hemoglobin signals in the prefrontal cortex during working-memory tasks were monitored using functional near-infrared *** acupuncture treatment,working-memory experiments were conducted for healthy control(HC)and MCI groups(MCI-0),followed by 24 sessions of acupuncture for the MCI *** acupuncture sessions were initially carried out for 6 weeks(two sessions per week),after which experiments were performed again on the MCI group(MCI-1).This was followed by another set of acupuncture sessions that also lasted for 6 weeks,after which the experiments were repeated on the MCI group(MCI-2).Statistical analyses of the signals and classifications based on activation maps as well as temporal features were *** highest classification accuracies obtained using binary connectivity maps were 85.7%HC ***-0,69.5%HC ***-1,and 61.69%HC *** classification accuracies using the temporal features mean from 5 seconds to 28 seconds and maximum(i.e,max(5:28 seconds))values were 60.6%HC ***-0,56.9%HC ***-1,and 56.4%HC *** results reveal that there was a change in the temporal characteristics of the hemodynamic response of MCI patients due to *** was reflected by a reduction in the classification accuracy after the therapy,indicating that the patients’brain responses improved and became comparable to those of healthy subjects.A similar trend was reflected in the classification using the image *** results indicate that acupuncture can be used for the treatment of MCI patients.

Novel extended C-m models of flow stress for accurate mechanical and metallurgical calculations and comparison with traditional flow models

Here,we developed novel extended piecewise bilinear power law(C-m)models to describe flow stresses under broad ranges of strain,strain rate,and temperature for mechanical and metallurgical calculations during metal forming at elevated *** traditional C-m model is improved upon by formulating the material parameters C and m,defined at sample strains and temperatures as functions of the strain *** coefficients are described as a linear combination of the basis functions defined in piecewise patches of the sample strain and temperature domain.A comparison with traditional closed-form function flow models revealed that our approach using the extended piecewise bilinear C-m model is superior in terms of accuracy,ease of use,and adaptability;additionally,the extended C-m model was applicable to numerical analysis of mechanical,metallurgical,and microstructural ***,metallurgy-related values can be calculated directly from the flow stress *** the proposed model was developed for materials at elevated temperatures,it can be applied over a broad temperature range.

A Model for Predicting the Psychological WellBeing of Older Adults in South Korea

This study examined factors related to the psychological well-being of older adults and built and verified a model for predictingpsychological well-being. The participants were 350 older adults aged over 60 years who lived in South Korea and were active in thelocal community. The model proposed in this study was found to be suitable. Depression, self-efficacy, and social support had adirect effect on the psychological well-being of older adults, while depression, activities of daily living (ADLs), and self-efficacy hadan indirect effect. Self-efficacy and social support mediated the relationship between depression and psychological well-being, andself-efficacy mediated the relationship between ADLs and psychological well-being. It is necessary to develop and implement aprogram that can help alleviate depression and improve self-efficacy and social support among older adults in order toenhance their psychological well-being. Additionally, to establish a model that predicts the psychological well-being of olderadults, a study is needed to verify the model not only in Korea but also in other countries.
