Inconsistent effect of dynamic load waveform on macro-and micro-scale responses of ballast bed characterized in individual cycle:a numerical study

Cyclic load is widely adopted in laboratory to simulate the effect of train load on ballast bed.The effectiveness of such load equivalence is usually testified by having similar results of key concerns of ballast bed,such as deformation or stiffness,while the consistency of particle scale characteristics under two loading patterns is rarely examined,which is insufficient to well-understand and use the load simplification.In this study,a previous laboratory model test of ballast bed under cyclic load is rebuilt using 3D discrete element method(DEM),which is validated by dynamic responses monitored by high-resolution sensors.Then,train load having the same magnitude and amplitude as the cyclic load is applied in the numerical model to obtain the statistical characteristics of inter-particle contact force and particle movements in ballast bed.The results show that particle scale responses under two loading patterns could have quite deviation,even when macro-scale responses of ballast bed under two loading patterns are very close.This inconsistency indicates that the application scale of the DEM model should not exceed the validation scale.Moreover,it is important to examine multiscale responses to validate the effectiveness of load simplification.

目的探讨脂代谢异常人群亚临床甲状腺功能减退(SCH)患病率及相关因素。方法选择梧州市红十字会医院2018年1月至2022年12月收入的3650例脂代谢异常人群,分析SCH患病率,对SHC患者和非SCH患者的临床资料进行对比,将有差异项目带入Logistic回归方程计算,分析其对脂代谢异常人群患SCH的影响。结果脂代谢异常人群中SCH患者962例,患病率26.36%;对SCH患者及非SCH患者一般资料进行单因素Logistic回归分析发现性别、身体质量指数(BMI)、甘油三酯(TG)、舒张压(DP)、抗甲状腺球蛋白抗体(TgAb)、收缩压(SP)、年龄、空腹血浆葡萄糖(FBG)、低密度脂蛋白(LDL-C)、负荷后2 h血糖(2hPG)、总胆固醇(TC)、高密度脂蛋白(HDL-C)、谷草转氨酶(AST)、血钙、血磷、血尿酸(UA)、抗甲状腺过氧化物酶抗体(TPOAb)在两组中差异有统计学意义(P<0.05);不同种类脂代谢异常以高TG血症居多,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05),而脂代谢异常人群SCH患病率混合高脂血症最高,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05);将以上对比有差异的影响因素进行多因素Logistic回归分析发现性别、年龄、SP、TC、FBG、2hPG均为影响脂代谢异常人群患SCH的独立因素。结论脂代谢异常与SCH疾病发生之间有紧密联系,患病情况在女性、高龄患者中更突出,血脂可能在一定程度上影响甲状腺激素的分泌,最终引发SCH,因此临床需重视相关因素并进行防治。

Cytokines including tumor necrosis factor, interleukins, interferons, and chemokines are abundantly produced in various diseases. As pleiotropic factors, cytokines are involved in nearly every aspect of cellular functions such as migration, survival, proliferation, and differentiation. Oligodendrocytes are the myelin-forming cells in the central nervous system and play critical roles in the conduction of action potentials, supply of metabolic components for axons, and other functions. Emerging evidence suggests that both oligodendrocytes and oligodendrocyte precursor cells are vulnerable to cytokines released under pathological conditions. This review mainly summarizes the effects of cytokines on oligodendrocyte lineage cells in central nervous system diseases. A comprehensive understanding of the effects of cytokines on oligodendrocyte lineage cells contributes to our understanding of central nervous system diseases and offers insights into treatment strategies.

Challenges and prospects for room temperature solid-state sodiumsulfur batteries

Room temperature sodium-sulfur(Na-S)batteries,known for their high energy density and low cost,are one of the most promising next-generation energy storage systems.However,the polysulfide shuttling and uncontrollable Na dendrite growth as well as safety issues caused by the use of organic liquid electrolytes in Na-S cells,have severely hindered their commercialization.Solid-state electrolytes instead of liquid electrolytes are considered to be the most direct and effective solution to solve the above problems.However,its practical application is still greatly challenged due to the poor interfacial compatibility between the all-solid-state electrolytes and the anode/cathode,ionic conductivity,and the shuttle effect caused by the presence of liquid phase in the quasi-solid-state electrolytes.This paper presents a comprehensive review of solid-state Na-S batteries from the perspective of regulating interfacial compatibility and improving ionic conductivity as well as suppressing polysulfide shuttle.According to different components,solid-state electrolytes were divided into five categories:solid inorganic electrolytes,solid polymer electrolytes,polymer/inorganic solid hybrid electrolytes,gel polymer electrolytes,and liquid–solid inorganic hybrid electrolytes.Finally,the prospect of developing high performance solid-state electrolytes to improve the cycling stability of room temperature Na-S cells is envisaged.

Neuronomodulation refers to the modulation of neural conduction and synaptic transmission(i.e.,the conduction process involved in synaptic transmission)of excitable neurons via changes in the membrane potential in response to chemical substances,from spillover neuro-transmitters to paracrine or endocrine hormones circulating in the blood.Neuronomodulation can be direct or indirect,depending on the transduction pathways from the ligand binding site to the ion pore,either on the same molecule,i.***.the ion channel,or through an intermediate step on different molecules.The major players in direct neurono-modulation are ligand-gated or voltage-gated ion channels.The key process of direct neuronomodulation is the binding and chemoactivation of ligand-gated or voltage-gated ion channels,either orthosterically or allosterically,by various ligands.Indirect neuronomodulation involves metabotropic receptor-mediated slow potentials,where steroid hormones,cytokines,and chemokines can implement these actions.Elucidating neuronomodulation is of great significance for understanding the physiological mechanisms of brain function,and the occurrence and treatment of diseases.

Dimension by Dimension Finite Volume HWENO Method for Hyperbolic Conservation Laws

In this paper,we propose a finite volume Hermite weighted essentially non-oscillatory(HWENO)method based on the dimension by dimension framework to solve hyperbolic conservation laws.It can maintain the high accuracy in the smooth region and obtain the high resolution solution when the discontinuity appears,and it is compact which will be good for giving the numerical boundary conditions.Furthermore,it avoids complicated least square procedure when we implement the genuine two dimensional(2D)finite volume HWENO reconstruction,and it can be regarded as a generalization of the one dimensional(1D)HWENO method.Extensive numerical tests are performed to verify the high resolution and high accuracy of the scheme.

According to the official website of China’s National Medicines and Pharmaceutical Administration(NMPA),a total of 87 novel drugs were approved in China in 2023,with targeted drugs accounting for 67.8%of the total,amounting to 59 drugs(Fig.1a;Table 1)[https://***/yaopin/ypjgdt/index.html].Notably,domestic innovation is flourishing,with five first-in-class drugs,including Glumetinib,a c-Met inhibitor from Haihe Biopharma;Leritrelvir,a 3CL protease inhibitor from Raynovent;Anaprazole,a proton pump inhibitor from Xuanzhu Biopharm;Pegol-Sihematide,an EPO drug from Hansoh Pharma;and Zuberitamab from BioRay Biopharmaceutical Co.,Ltd.Additionally,the world’s first allosteric inhibitor targeting TYK2,Sotyktu(deucravacitinib),has been approved for the treatment of psoriasis and Selumetinib,a MEK inhibitor co-developed by AstraZeneca and Merck Sharp&Dohme(MSD),became the first approved drug in China for the treatment of neurofibromatosis type I(NF1).Beyond these drugs,the approval of novel drug types such as CAR-T cell products,siRNA,monoclonal antibodies,dual antibodies,and ADCs in China is a significant development in the country’s pharmaceutical industry(Fig.1a).

Effect of Modulus Heterogeneity on the Equilibrium Shape and Stress Field ofαPrecipitate in Ti-6Al-4V

For media with inclusions(e.g.,precipitates,voids,reinforcements,and others),the difference in lattice parameter and the elastic modulus between the matrix and inclusions cause stress concentration at the interfaces.These stress fields depend on the inclusions’size,shape,and distribution and will respond instantly to the evolving microstructure.This study develops a phase-field model concerningmodulus heterogeneity.The effect of modulus heterogeneity on the growth process and equilibrium state of theαplate in Ti-6Al-4V during precipitation is evaluated.Theαprecipitate exhibits strong anisotropy in shape upon cooling due to the interplay of the elastic strain and interfacial energy.The calculated orientation of the habit plane using the homogeneous modulus ofαphase shows the smallest deviation fromthat of the habit plane observed in the experiment,compared to the case where the homogeneous modulus ofβphase is adopted.In addition,the equilibrium volume ofαphase within the systemusing homogeneousβmodulus exhibits the largest dependency on the applied stresses.The stress fields across theα/βinterface are further calculated under the assumption of modulus heterogeneity and compared to those using homogeneous modulus of eitherαorβphase.This study provides an essential theoretical basis for developing mechanics models concerning systems with heterogeneous structures.

An oscillation-free Hermite WENO scheme for hyperbolic conservation laws

In this paper, the sixth-order oscillation-free Hermite weighted essentially non-oscillatory (OFHWENO) scheme is proposed for hyperbolic conservation laws on structured meshes, where the zeroth- andfirst-order moments are the variables for the governing equations. The main difference from other HWENOschemes existing in the literature is that we add high-order numerical damping terms in the first-order momentequations to control spurious oscillations for the OF-HWENO scheme. The OF-HWENO scheme not only canachieve the designed optimal numerical order, but also can be easily implemented as we use only one set ofstencils in the reconstruction procedure and the same reconstructed polynomials are applied for the zeroth- andfirst-order moment equations. In order to obtain the adaptive order resolution when facing discontinuities, atransition polynomial is added in the reconstruction, where the associated linear weights can also be any positivenumbers as long as their summation equals one. In addition, the OF-HWENO scheme still keeps compactnessas only immediate neighbor values are needed in the space discretization. Some benchmark numerical tests areperformed to illustrate the high-order accuracy, high resolution and robustness of the proposed scheme.

Carbon enhanced nucleophilicity of Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3):A general approach for dendrite-free zinc metal anodes

Zincophilic property and high electrical conductivity are both very important parameters to design novel Zn anode for aqueous Zn-ion batteries(AZIBs).However,single material is difficult to exhibit zincophilic property and high electrical conductivity at the same time.Herein,originating from theoretical calculation,a zincophilic particle regulation strategy is proposed to address these limitations and carbon coated Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)is taken as an example to be a protective layer on zinc metal(NVPC@Zn).Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)(NVP)is a common cathode material for Zn-ion batteries,which is zincophilic.Carbon materials not only offer an electron pathway to help Zn deposition onto NVPC surface,but also enhance the zinc nucleophilicity of Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3).Hence,this hybrid coating layer can tune zinc deposition and resist side reactions such as hydrogen generation and Zn metal corrosion.Experimentally,a symmetrical battery with NVPC@Zn electrode displays highly reversible plating/stripping behavior with a long cycle lifespan over 1800 h at2 mA cm^(-2),much better than carbon and Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)solely modified Zn electrodes.When the Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)is replaced with zincophobic Al2O3or zincophilic V2O3,the stability of the modified zinc anodes is also prolonged.This strategy expands the option of zincophilic materials and provides a general and effective way to stabilize the Zn electrode.
