Tempospacial energy-saving effect-based diagnosis in large coal-fired power units:Energy-saving benchmark state

The energy-saving analytics of coal-fired power units in China is confronting new challenges especially with even more complicated system structure, higher working medium parameters, time-dependent varying operation conditions and boundaries such as load rate, coal quality, ambient temperature and humidity. Compared with the traditional optimization of specific operating parameters, the idea of the energy-consumption benchmark state was proposed. The equivalent specific fuel consumption(ESFC) analytics was introduced to determine the energy-consumption benchmark state, with the minimum ESFC under varying operation boundaries. Models for the energy-consumption benchmark state were established, and the endogenous additional specific consumption(ASFC) and exogenous ASFC were calculated. By comparing the benchmark state with the actual state, the energy-saving tempospacial effect can be quantified. As a case study, the energy consumption model of a 1000 MW ultra supercritical power unit was built. The results show that system energy consumption can be mainly reduced by improving the performance of turbine subsystem. This nearly doubles the resultant by improving the boiler system. The energy saving effect of each component increases with the decrease of load and has a greater influence under a lower load rate. The heat and mass transfer process takes priority in energy saving diagnosis of related components and processes. This makes great reference for the design and operation optimization of coal-fired power units.

5α-reductase inhibitors （5α-RIs）, including finasteride and dutasteride, are commonly used medical therapies for benign prostatic hyperplasia （BPH）. Many studies reported that preoperative 5α-RI had impact on intraoperative haemorrhage during surgery for BPH, but it was still in controversial. So, we conducted a systematic review of the effects and mechanisms of 5α-RIs on intraoperative bleeding for BPH. MEDLINE, EMBASE, the Cochrane Controlled Trail Register of Controlled Trials and the reference lists of retrieved studies were searched in the analysis. Sixteen publications involving 15 different randomized controlled trials （RCTs） and a total of 1156 patients were used in the analysis, including 10 RCTs for finasteride and five RCTs for dutasteride. We found that preoperative finasteride treatment decreases microvessel density （MVD） in resected prostate specimens. Total blood loss, blood loss per gram of resected prostate tissue and decreases in haemoglobin were all greatly reduced in the finasteride group as compared to controls. Dutasteride appeared to have no effect on bleeding. This meta-analysis shows that preoperative finasteride treatment could decrease intraoperative haemorrhage during surgery for BPH. Preoperative dutasteride had no effect on intraoperative haemorrhage, but further high-qualitv prospective studies are still needed to confirm this observation.

Wavelength decomposition approach has been proposed to compute blocking probability （BP） of fixed routing in wavelength-routed optical networks （WRONs） without wavelength conversions. By means of wavelength decomposition, a WRON can be regarded as a set of different layers （colors）, in which blocked traffic in one layer is overflowed to another layer. A novel iterative scheme is put forward in case of t3P matching used to characterize the overflow traffic from one layer to another in this paper. Furthermore, the analysis of BP based on the improved wavelength decomposition approach is derived and results show that it yields higher calculation accuracy.

The effect of the addition of 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate （[C4mim][BF4]） on the formation rates of CO2 hydrates was investigate. The isothermal and isobaric methods were used to measure the formation rates of CO2 hydrates. As compared to those of pure water, the data of phase equilibrium changed greatly. The effects of pressure, temperature, and the concentration of [C4mim][BF4] aqueous solution on the formation rates of CO2 hydrates were investigated. With a constant concentration of [C4mim][BF4], the rate of gas consumption was enhanced with the lowering of experimental temperature. However, a decrease in pressure exerted an opposite effect on the rate of gas consumption. Moreover, the addition of [C4mim][BF4] raised the equilibrium pressure of hydrate formation at the same temperature.

The nano-friction phenomenon in a one-dimensional Frenkel-Kontorova(FK)model under Gaussian colored noise is investigated by using the molecular dynamic simulation *** role of colored noise is analyzed through the inclusion of a stochastic force via a Langevin molecular dynamics *** the stochastic Runge-Kutta algorithm,the relationship between different parameter values of the Gaussian colored noise(the noise intensity and the correlation time)and the nano-friction phenomena such as hysteresis,the maximum static friction force is separately studied *** results are obtained from the two geometrically opposed ideal cases:incommensurate and commensurate *** was found that the noise strongly influences the hysteresis and maximum static friction force and with an appropriate external driving force,the introduction of noise can accelerate the motion of the system,making the atoms escape from the substrate potential well more ***,suitable correlation time and noise intensity give rise to *** is noteworthy that the difference between the two circumstances lies in the fact that the effect of the noise is much stronger on triggering the motion of the FK model for the commensurate interface than that for the incommensurate interface.

Alzheimer's disease,the primary cause of dementia,is characterized by neuropathologies,such as amyloid plaques,synaptic and neuronal degeneration,and neurofibrillary *** amyloid plaques are the primary characteristic of Alzheimer's disease in the central nervous system and peripheral organs,targeting amyloid-beta clearance in the central nervous system has shown limited clinical efficacy in Alzheimer's disease *** abnormalities are commonly observed in patients with Alzheimer's *** liver is the primary peripheral organ involved in amyloid-beta metabolism,playing a crucial role in the pathophysiology of Alzheimer's ***,impaired cholesterol metabolism in the liver may exacerbate the development of Alzheimer's *** this review,we explore the underlying causes of Alzheimer's disease and elucidate the role of the liver in amyloid-beta clearance and cholesterol ***,we propose that restoring normal cholesterol metabolism in the liver could represent a promising therapeutic strategy for addressing Alzheimer's disease.

Vaccinations are essential for preventing and treating disease,especially cancer nanovaccines,which have gained considerable interest recently for their strong anti-tumor immune *** can prompt the immune system to generate antibodies and activate various immune cells,leading to a response against tumor tissues and reducing the negative effects and recurrence risks of traditional chemotherapy and *** enhance the flexibility and targeting of vaccines,nanovaccines utilize nanotechnology to encapsulate or carry antigens at the nanoscale level,enabling more controlled and precise drug delivery to enhance immune *** nanovaccines function by encapsulating tumor-specific antigens or tumor-associated antigens within *** small size of these nanomaterials allows for precise targeting of T cells,dendritic cells,or cancer cells,thereby eliciting a more potent anti-tumor *** this paper,we focus on the classification of carriers for cancer nanovaccines,the roles of different target cells,and clinically tested cancer nanovaccines,discussing strategies for effectively inducing cytotoxic T lymphocytes responses and optimizing antigen presentation,while also looking ahead to the translational challenges of moving from animal experiments to clinical trials.

Tissue regeneration requires exogenous and endogenous signals,and there is increasing evidence that the exogenous microenvironment may play an even more dominant role in the complex process of coordinated multiple *** short-distance peripheral nerve showed a spontaneous regenerative phenomenon,which was initiated by the guiding role of ***,it cannot sufficiently restore long-distance nerve injury by *** on this principle,we firstly constructed a proinflammatory model to prove that abnormal M2 expression reduce the guidance and repair effect of long-distance ***,a bionic peptide hydrogel scaffold based on self-assembly was developed to envelop M2-derived regenerative cytokines and extracellular vesicles(EVs).The cytokines and EVs were quantified to mimic the guidance and regenerative microenvironment in a direct and mild *** bionic scaffold promoted M2 transformation in situ and led to proliferation and migration of Schwann cells,neuron growth and motor function ***,the peptide scaffold combined with CX3CL1 recruited more blood-derived M2 macrophages to promote long-distance nerve recon***,we systematically confirmed the important role of M2 in regulating and restoring the injury peripheral *** bionic peptide hydrogel scaffold mimicked and remodeled the local environment for M2 transformation and recruitment,favoring long-distance peripheral nerve *** can help to explicate regulative effect of M2 may be a cause not just a consequence in nerve repair and tissue integration,which facilitating the development of pro-regenerative biomaterials.

Longitudinal assessment of peripheral organ metabolism and the gut microbiota in an APP/PS1 transgenic mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease

Alzheimer’s disease not only affects the brain,but also induces metabolic dysfunction in peripheral organs and alters the gut *** aim of this study was to investigate systemic changes that occur in Alzheimer’s disease,in particular the association between changes in peripheral organ metabolism,changes in gut microbial composition,and Alzheimer’s disease *** do this,we analyzed peripheral organ metabolism and the gut microbiota in amyloid precursor protein-presenilin 1(APP/PS1)transgenic and control mice at 3,6,9,and 12 months of ***-month-old APP/PS1 mice exhibited cognitive impairment,Alzheimer’s disease-related brain changes,distinctive metabolic disturbances in peripheral organs and fecal samples(as detected by untargeted metabolomics sequencing),and substantial changes in gut microbial composition compared with younger APP/PS1 ***,a strong correlation emerged between the gut microbiota and kidney metabolism in APP/PS1 *** findings suggest that alterations in peripheral organ metabolism and the gut microbiota are closely related to Alzheimer’s disease development,indicating potential new directions for therapeutic strategies.
