Realgar-indigo naturalis formula for the treatment of patients with relapsed and arsenic trioxide-resistant acute promyelocytic leukemia:A case series

Introduction: There is currently no standard treatment for relapsed and arsenic trioxide(ATO)-resistant acute promyelocytic leukemia(APl). Here, we report a case series of realgar-indigo naturalis formula(RIF) for the successful treatment of patients with relapsed and ATO-resistant *** presentation: Two patients in the first relapse and one in the second relapse failed to achieve hematologic complete remission(HCR) when reinduced by ATO; the other five patients progressed to relapse during ATO-based regimens for post-remission therapy. These eight patients received RIF in three doses per day total.ng 130 mg/kg(≤ 30 pills) as induction therapy and achieved HCR at a median time of46.5 days. They received 5 years of post-remission therapy, which consisted of combined chemotherapy followed by RIF. During this period, the patients did not experience renal dysfunction or QT interval prol.ngation. At the last follow-up, three patients survived without relapse, two patients survived with a second or third relapse and third or fourth remission, and the other three patients relapsed for a third or fourth time and died. The 5-year overall survival and event-free survival rates were 75.0%(95% confidence interval [CI]: 31.5–93.1) and 37.5%(95% CI: 5.6–71.7), ***: RIF for induction therapy and RIF combined with chemotherapy for post-remission therapy may represent an effective and safe protocol for the treatment of patients with relapsed and ATO-resistant APl.

Blade batteries are extensively used in electric vehicles,but unavoidable thermal runaway is an inherent threat to their safe *** study experimentally investigated the mechanism underlying thermal runaway propagation within a blade battery by using a nail to trigger thermal runaway and thermocouples to track its propagation inside a *** results showed that the internal thermal runaway could propagate for up to 272 s,which is comparable to that of a traditional battery *** velocity of the thermal runaway propagation fluctuated between 1 and 8 mm s^(-1),depending on both the electrolyte content and high-temperature gas *** the early stages of thermal runaway,the electrolyte participated in the reaction,which intensified the thermal runaway and accelerated its *** the battery temperature increased,the electrolyte evaporated,which attenuated the acceleration *** diffusion affected thermal runaway propagation through both heat transfer and mass *** experimental results indicated that gas diffusion accelerated the velocity of thermal runaway propagation by 36.84%.We used a 1D mathematical model and confirmed that convective heat transfer induced by gas diffusion increased the velocity of thermal runaway propagation by 5.46%-17.06%.Finally,the temperature rate curve was analyzed,and a three-stage mechanism for internal thermal runaway propagation was *** Stage I,convective heat transfer from electrolyte evaporation locally increased the temperature to 100℃.In Stage II,solid heat transfer locally increases the temperature to trigger thermal *** StageⅢ,thermal runaway sharply increases the local *** proposed mechanism sheds light on the internal thermal runaway propagation of blade batteries and offers valuable insights into safety considerations for future design.

Soil extracellular electron transfer(EET)is a pivotal biological process within the realm of ***,EET suffers from a lack of predictive ***,an intricately crafted machine learning model has been developed for the purpose of predicting soil EET by using the physicochemical properties of soil as independent input variables and the EET capabilities in terms of current density(j_(max))and Coulombic charge(C_(out))as dependent output *** autoencoder ensemble stacking(AES)model was developed to address the aforementioned issue by integrating support vector machine,multilayer perceptron,extreme gradient boosting,and light gradient boosting machine algorithms as the stacking *** 10-fold crossvalidation,the AES model exhibited notable improvements in predicting j_(max)and C_(out),with average test R^(2)values of 0.83 and 0.84,respectively,surpassing those of single machine learning(Ml)models and the basic ensemble *** utilizing partial correlation plots(PDPs),Shapley Additive expl.nations(SHAP)values,and SHAP decision plots,we quantitatively explained the impact and contribution of the input molecules on the AES model’s predictions of j_(max)and C_(out).In the context of the SHAP method for the AES model,total carbon(TC)was identified as the most correlated descriptor for j_(max),while total organic carbon(TOC)stood out as the most relevant descriptor for C_(out).In the prediction tasks of j_(max)and C_(out)within the AES model,employing a multitask Ml approach allowed the model to benefit from the shared information of input variables,thereby enhancing its overall *** study provides a feasible tool for the prediction of soil EET from soil physiochemical properties and an advanced understanding of the relationship between soil physiochemical properties and EET capability.

Precision engineering of catalytic sites to guide more favorable pathways for li_(2)O_(2) nucleation and decom-position represents an enticing kinetic strategy for mitigating overpotential,enhancing discharge capac-ity,and improving recycl.ng stability of li-O_(2) *** this work,we employ metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)derivation and ion substitution strategies to construct atomically dispersed Mn-n_(4) moieties on hierarchical porous nitrogen-doped carbon(Mn SAs-nC)with the aim of reducing the over-potential and improving the cycl.ng stability of li-O_(2) *** porous structure provides more chan-nels for mass transfer and exposes more highly active sites for electrocatalytic reactions,thus promoting the formation and decomposition of li_(2)O_(2).The li-O_(2) batteries with Mn SAs-nC cathode achieve lower overpotential,higher specific capacity(14290 mA h g^(-1) at 100 mAg^(-1)),and superior cycle stability(>100 cycles at 200 mA g^(-1))compared with the Mn nPs-nC and *** functional theory(DFT)cal-culations reveal that the construction of Mn-n_(4) moiety tunes the charge distribution of the pyridinic n-rich vacancy and bal.nces the affinity of the intermediates(liO_(2) and li_(2)O_(2)).The initial.nucleation of li_(2)O_(2) on Mn SAs-nC favors the O_(2)-→liO_(2)→li_(2)O_(2) surface-adsorption pathway,which mitigates the overpoten-tials of the oxygen reduction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER).As a result,Mn SAs-nC with Mn-n_(4) moiety effectively facilitates the li_(2)O_(2) nucleation and enables its reversible *** work establishes a methodology for constructing carbon-based electrocatalysts with high activity and selectivity for li-O_(2)batteries.

First wetl.nd mapping at 10-m spatial resolution in South America using multi-source and multi-feature remote sensing data

Wetl.nd degradation has been accelerating in recent years globally. Accurate information on the geographic distribution and categories of wetl.nds is essential for their conservation and management. Despite being the world′s fourth largest continent, South America has limited research on wetl.nd mapping, and there is currently no available map that provides comprehensive information on wetl.nd distribution and categories in the region. To address this issue, we used Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2 and SRTM data, developed a sample collection method and a wetl.nd mapping method with a collection of multi-source features such as optical features, polarization features and shape features for South American wetl.nds. We produced a 10-m resolution wetl.nd map based on the Google Earth Engine(GEE) platform. Our level-1 wetl.nd cover map accurately captured six wetl.nd sub-categories with an overall accuracy of 96.24% and a kappa coefficient of 0.8649, while our level-2 water cover map included five sub-categories with an overall accuracy of 97.23% and a kappa coefficient of0.9368. The results show that the total area of existing wetl.nds in South America is approximately 1,737,000 km~2, which is6.8% of the total l.nd area. Among the ten wetl.nd categories, shallow sea had the largest area(960,527.4 km~2), while aquaculture ponds had the smallest area 1513.6 km~2. Swamp had the second largest area(306,240.1 km~2). Brazil, Argentina,Venezuela, Bolivia, and Colombia were found to have the largest wetl.nd areas, with Brazil and Colombia having the most diverse wetl.nd categories. This product can serve as basel.ne data for subsequent monitoring, management, and conservation of South American wetl.nds.
