The utilization of urban underground space(UUS)offers an effective solution to urban problems but may also negatively affect urban ***,UUS development needs better concerted guidelines to coordinate various urban systems and the multiple components of the underground *** Development Goals(SDGs),which should be viewed as important yardsticks for UUS development,do not explicitly mention urban underground space,although many of them are affected by both the positive and negative consequences of its *** fill this gap,this review lays the foundations of relevant UUS concepts and uses exemplary cases to reveal that 11 out of 17 SDGs can be linked with UUS *** linkages also manifest that land administration,integrated planning,architectural design,and construction technology are critical dimensions for increasing the contributions of UUS to the realization of *** achieve multi-disciplinary synergies among these four critical dimensions,a collaborative approach framework based on spatial data infrastructure is ***,this work provides academics and practitioners with a holistic view of sustainable UUS development.

Urban underground infrastructures(UUIs)are a vital component of built capital for urban ***,many cities are now home to a multitude of disused or underutilized UUIs,not least aged purpose-built underground facilities,causing a waste of valuable underground space resource *** the process of urban renewal,adaptive reuse can be an attractive solution to breathe new life into underutilized UUIs,while addressing some of the modern problems of the built environment by an economically feasible ***,there is a prevalent absence in the current literature of the overarching planning and decision-making approaches for an adaptive reuse development of underutilized *** the intention of addressing this shortfall,this paper first lays out development strategies,then sets the generic patterns for adaptive reuse of disused or underutilized *** the city of Qingdao,China as a case study,detailed planning and decision-making approaches with the aid of multi-source data and spatial analysis tools are *** is anticipated that the findings of this research will assist the adaptive reuse development of UUIs in providing theoretical guidance and empirical evidence,thereby enhancing the role of urban underground space use in contributing to urban revitalization and urban sustainability.

Urban underground space(UUS)development has been acknowledged as a positive contribution to urban resilience(UR).Such contribution has been qualitatively addressed in recent years,but only quantitatively discussed in few *** evaluation methods for UR are widely used in China and around the world,but the role of underground space is barely *** paper provides a way to bridge this gap on the city scale.A UR evaluation framework was carefully constructed that covers the basic aspects and elements of *** contributions of UUS to UR were identified and integrated into the UR evaluation framework,and the measurement methods for each indicator related to UUS were determined.A case study of 19 sample cities in China were conducted using the integrated evaluation *** analysis and clustering analysis were further adopted to interpret the evaluation results,mainly with three indicators reflecting the level of UUS development,namely UUS area(m^(2)),UUS density(104 m^(2)/km^(2))and UUS area per capita(m^(2)/person).The results showed a strong correlation between UUS area and *** average proportion of UR provided by UUS in the 19 sample cities was 16.46%,while the maximum figure reached 29.20%.The sample cities were clustered into four categories based on the relationship between the proportion of UR provided by UUS,UUS area,and GDP per capita,where both high and low UUS area tend to provide less proportion of resilience than the medium UUS *** suggestions for UUS utilization were proposed to assist cities in achieving urban resilience.

Background: Airway inflammation is the core pathological process of asthma, with the key inflammatory regulators incompletely defined. Recently, fibroblast growth factor 2(FGF2) has been reported to be an inflammatory regulator;however, its role in asthma remains elusive. This study aimed to investigate the immunomodulatory role of FGF2 in ***: First, FGF2 expression was characterised in clinical asthma samples and the house dust mite(HDM)-induced mouse chronic asthma model. Second, recombinant mouse FGF2(rm-FGF2) protein was intranasally delivered to determine the effect of FGF2 on airway inflammatory cell infiltration. Third, human airway epithelium-derived A549 cells were stimulated with either HDM or recombinant human interleukin-1β(IL-1β) protein combined with or without recombinant human FGF2. IL-1β-induced IL-6 or IL-8 release levels were determined using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and the involved signalling transduction was explored via Western ***: Compared with the control groups, the FGF2 protein levels were significantly upregulated in the bronchial epithelium and alveolar areas of clinical asthma samples [(6.70±1.79) vs.(16.32±2.40), P=0.0184;(11.20±2.11) vs.(21.00±3.00), P=0.033, respectively] and HDM-induced asthmatic mouse lung lysates [(1.00±0.15) vs.(5.14±0.42),P<0.001]. Moreover, FGF2 protein abundance was positively correlated with serum total and anti-HDM IgE levels in the HDM-induced chronic asthma model(R^(2)=0.857 and 0.783, P=0.0008 and 0.0043, respectively). Elevated FGF2protein was mainly expressed in asthmatic bronchial epithelium and alveolar areas and partly co-localised with infiltrated inflammatory cell populations in HDM-induced asthmatic mice. More importantly, intranasal instillation of rm-FGF2 aggravated airway inflammatory cell infiltration [(2.45±0.09) vs.(2.88±0.14), P=0.0288] and recruited more subepithelial neutrophils after HDM challenge [(110.20±29.43) cells/mm^(2) vs.(238.10±42.77) cells/mm

Exploring efficient and nonprecious metal electrocatalysts of oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is crucial for developing rechargeable zinc-air batteries(ZABs).Herein,an alloying-degree control strategy was employed to fabricate nitrogen-doped carbon sphere(NCS)decorated with dual-phase Co/Co_(7)Fe_(3)heterojunctions(CoFe@NCS).The phase composition of materials has been adjusted by controlling the alloying *** optimal CoFe_(0.08)@NCS electrocatalyst displays a half-wave potential of 0.80 V for ORR and an overpotential of 283 mV at 10 mA·cm^(-2)for OER in an alkaline *** intriguing bifunctional electrocatalytic activity and durability is attributed to the hierarchically porous structure and interfacial electron coupling of highly-active Co_(7)Fe_(3)alloy and metallic Co *** the CoFe_(0.08)@NCS material is used as air-cathode catalyst of rechargeable liquid-state zinc-air battery(ZAB),the device shows a high peak power-density(157 mW·cm^(-2))and maintains a stable voltage gap over 150 h,outperforming those of the benchmark(Pt/C+RuO_(2))-based *** particular,the as-fabricated solid-state flexible ZAB delivers a reliable compatibility under different bending *** work provides a promising strategy to develop metal/alloy-based electrocatalysts for the application in renewable energy conversion technologies.

For space-based gravitational wave （GW） detection,the main noise source for massive black hole binaries （MBHBs） is attributed to approximately 10～7double white dwarf binaries in the *** a GW source,the amplitude of the detector response,recorded by a space-based gravitational wave detector,exhibits a modulation effect with a year period when observing the source from various orbital *** the adverse conditions mentioned above,where there is a strong foreground noise and annual modulation in the signals,we employed the wavelet transform and the strong-amplitude relevant orbital position search methods,which allows the weak MBHB sources to achieve higher locating *** detail,for two MBHB sources of lower intensity,the precision of luminosity distance,represented by the ratio ?DL/DLat the 95%confidence level,is enhanced by factors of ～*** angular resolutions,denoted by??s,are enhanced by a factor of ～*** improvements increase the number of detectable GW sources,facilitate multi-messenger follow-up observations and provide constraints on the cosmological constant.

Rational engineering of semiconductor photocatalysts for efficient hydrogen production is of great significance but still challenging,primarily due to the limitations in charge transfer ***,a fascinating plasmonic tandem heterojunction with the hc-CdS/Mo2C@C heterostructure is aimfully prepared for effectively promoting the charge separation kinetics of the CdS photocatalyst via the synergistic strategy of phase junction,Schottky junction,and photothermal *** difference in atomic configuration between cubic-CdS （c-CdS） and hexagonal-CdS （h-CdS） leads to effective charge separation through a typical Ⅱ charge transfer mechanism,and plasmonic Schottky junction further extracts the electrons in the hc-CdS phase junction to realize gradient charge ***,the photothermal effect of Mo2C@C helps to expand the light absorption,accelerate charge transfer kinetics,and reduce the hydrogen evolution energy *** carbon layer provides a fast channel for charge transfer and protects the photocatalyst from *** a result,the optimized hc-CMC photocatalyst exhibits a significantly high photocatalytic H2production activity of 28.63 mmol/g/h and apparent quantum efficiency of 61.8%,surpassing most of the reported *** study provides a feasible strategy to enhance the charge transfer kinetics and photocatalytic activity of CdS by constructing plasmonic tandem heterogeneous junctions.

Neuronal growth, extension, branching, and formation of neural networks are markedly influenced by the extracellular matrix—a complex network composed of proteins and carbohydrates secreted by cells. In addition to providing physical support for cells, the extracellular matrix also conveys critical mechanical stiffness cues. During the development of the nervous system, extracellular matrix stiffness plays a central role in guiding neuronal growth, particularly in the context of axonal extension, which is crucial for the formation of neural networks. In neural tissue engineering, manipulation of biomaterial stiffness is a promising strategy to provide a permissive environment for the repair and regeneration of injured nervous tissue. Recent research has fine-tuned synthetic biomaterials to fabricate scaffolds that closely replicate the stiffness profiles observed in the nervous system. In this review, we highlight the molecular mechanisms by which extracellular matrix stiffness regulates axonal growth and regeneration. We highlight the progress made in the development of stiffness-tunable biomaterials to emulate in vivo extracellular matrix environments, with an emphasis on their application in neural repair and regeneration, along with a discussion of the current limitations and future prospects. The exploration and optimization of the stiffness-tunable biomaterials has the potential to markedly advance the development of neural tissue engineering.
