Transurethral plasmakinetic resection of the prostate is a reliable minimal invasive technique for benign prostate hyperplasia： a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

To evaluate the efficacy and safety of plasmakinetic resection of the prostate （PKRP） versus transurethral resection of the prostate （TURP） for the treatment of patients with benign prostate hyperplasia （BPH）, a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials was carried out. We searched PubMed, Embase, Web of Science and the Cochrane Library. The pooled estimates of maximum flow rate, International Prostate Symptom Score, operation time, catheterization time, irrigated volume, hospital stay, transurethral resection syndrome, transfusion, clot retention, urinary retention and urinary stricture were assessed. There was no notable difference in International Prostate Symptom Score between TURP and PKRP groups during the 1-month, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months follow-up period, while the pooled Qmax at 1-month favored PKRP group. PKRP group was related to a lower risk rate of transurethral resection syndrome, transfusion and clot retention, and the catheterization time and operation time were also shorter than that of TURP. The irrigated volume, length of hospital stay, urinary retention and urinary stricture rate were similar between groups. In conclusion, our study suggests that the PKRP is a reliable minimal invasive technique and may anticipatoriiy prove to be an alternative electrosurgical procedure for the treatment of BPH.

Proppant transport within fractures is one of the most critical tasks in oil,gas and geothermal reservoir stimulation,as it largely determines the ultimate performance of the operating *** transport in rough fracture networks is still a relatively new area of research and the associated transport mechanisms are still *** this study,representative parameters of rough fracture surfaces formed by supercritical CO_(2) fracturing were used to generate a rough fracture network model based on a spectral synthesis *** fluid dynamics(CFD)coupled with the discrete element method(DEM)was used to study proppant transport in this rough fracture *** reveal the turning transport mechanism of proppants into branching fractures at the intersections of rough fracture networks,a comparison was made with the behavior within smooth fracture networks,and the effect of key pumping parameters on the proppant placement in a secondary fracture was *** results show that the transport behavior of proppant in rough fracture networks is very different from that of the one in the smooth fracture *** turning transport mechanisms of proppant into secondary fractures in rough fracture networks are gravity-driven sliding,high velocity fluid suspension,and fracture structure *** the same injection conditions,supercritical CO_(2)with high flow Reynolds number still has a weaker ability to transport proppant into secondary fractures than *** of the supercritical CO_(2)needs to be increased beyond a certain value to have a significant effect on proppant carrying,and under the temperature and pressure conditions of this paper,it needs to be increased more than 20 times(about 0.94 m Pa s).Increasing the injection velocity and decreasing the proppant concentration facilitates the entry of proppant into the branching fractures,which in turn results in a larger stimulated reservoir *** results help to understand the pro

High-temperature superconducting(HTS)rare-earth Ba_(2)Cu_(3)O_(7-x)(REBCO)coated conductors(CCs)have significant potential in high-current and high-field ***,owing to the weak interface strength of the laminated composite REBCO CCs,the damage induced by the thermal mismatch stress under a combination of epoxy impregnation,cooling,and quenching can cause premature degradation of the critical *** this study,a three-dimensional(3D)electromagnetic-thermal-mechanical model based on the H-formulation and cohesive zone model(CZM)is developed to study the critical current degradation characteristics in an epoxy-impregnated REBCO CC caused by the damage during a *** temperature variation,critical current degradation of the REBCO CC,and its degradation onset temperature calculated by the numerical model are in agreement with the experimental data taken from the *** delamination of the REBCO CC predicted by the numerical model is consistent with the experimental *** numerical results also indicate that the shear stress is the main contributor to the damage propagation inside the REBCO *** premature degradation of the critical current during a quench is closely related to the interface shear strength inside the REBCO ***,the effects of the coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE)of the epoxy resin,thickness of the substrate,and substrate material on the critical current degradation characteristics of the epoxy-impregnated REBCO CC during a quench are also *** results help us understand the relationship between the current-carrying degradation and damage in the HTS applications.

The hot compression behavior and tensile strength after compression of a new Ni-Co-based superalloy produced using electron beam smelting layered(EBSL)solidification technology were *** compression tests were performed at temperatures of 1120℃and 1150℃,with strain rates of 1 s^(-1) and 0.01 s^(-1),reaching a true strain of *** strength was evaluated at room *** results revealed that this EBSL technology accelerates dynamic recrystallization(DRX),without compromising the strength of alloy.A significant correlation between the volume fraction of DRX and the strain rate was observed,with higher fractions at lower strain rates,leading to higher tensile ***,at the same strain rate,the specimens compressed at 1120℃exhibited higher tensile strength due to undissolvedγ′*** solution and aging heat treatment,the alloy maintained high tensile *** results suggested that the EBSL Ni-Co-based superalloy offers excellent prospects for practical applications.
