Uncertainty analysis of flow rate measurement for multiphase flow using CFD

The venturi meter has an advantage in its use,because it can measure flow without being much affected by the type of the measured fluid or flow ***,it has excellent versatility and is being widely applied in many *** flow of a liquid containing air is a representative example of a multiphase flow and exhibits complex flow *** particular,the greater the gas volume fraction（GVF）,the more inhomogeneous the flow *** a result,using a venturi meter to measure the rate of a flow that has a high GVF generates an *** this study,the cause of the error occurred in measuring the flow rate for the multiphase flow when using the venturi meter for analysis by *** ensure the reliability of this study,the accuracy of the multiphase flow models for numerical analysis was verified through comparison between the calculated results of numerical analysis and the experimental *** a result,the Grace model,which is a multiphase flow model established by an experiment with water and air,was confirmed to have the highest ***,the characteristics of the internal flow Held about the multiphase flow analysis result generated by applying the Grace model were analyzed to find the cause of the uncertainty occurring when measuring the flow rate of the multiphase flow using the venturi meter.A phase separation phenomenon occurred due to a density difference of water and air inside the venturi,and flow inhomogeneity happened according to the flow velocity difference of each *** was confirmed that this flow inhomogeneity increased as the GVF increased due to the uncertainty of the flow measurement.

A conventional electrode composite for rechargeable zinc-ion batteries(ZIBs)includes a binder for strong adhesion between the electrode material and the current ***,the introduction of a binder leads to electrochemical inactivity and low electrical conductivity,resulting in the decay of the capacity and a low rate *** present a binder-and conducting agent-free VO_(2) composite electrode using in situ polymerization of dopamine on a flexible current collector of pyroprotein-based *** as-fabricated composite electrode was used as a substrate for the direct growth of VO_(2) as a self-supported form on polydopamine-derived pyroprotein-based fibers(pp-fibers@VO_(2)(B)).It has a high conductivity and flexible nature as a current collector and moderate binding without conventional binders and conducting agents for the VO_(2)(B) *** addition,their electrochemical mechanism was *** energy storage is induced by Zn^(2+)/H^(+) coinsertion during discharging,which can be confirmed by the lattice expansion,the formation of by-products including Zn_(x)(OTf)_(y)(OH)_(2x−y)·nH_(2)O,and the reduction of V^(4+)to V^(3+).Furthermore,the assembled Zn//pp-fibers@VO_(2)(B) pouch cells have excellent flexibility and stable electrochemical performance under various bending states,showing application possibilities for portable and wearable power sources.

GRU-based Buzzer Ensemble for Abnormal Detection in Industrial Control Systems

Recently,Industrial Control Systems(ICSs)have been changing from a closed environment to an open environment because of the expansion of digital transformation,smart factories,and Industrial Internet of Things(IIoT).Since security accidents that occur in ICSs can cause national confusion and human casualties,research on detecting abnormalities by using normal operation data learning is being actively *** single technique proposed by existing studies does not detect abnormalities well or provide satisfactory *** this paper,we propose a GRU-based Buzzer Ensemble for AbnormalDetection(GBE-AD)model for detecting anomalies in industrial control systems to ensure rapid response and process *** newly proposed ensemble model of the buzzer method resolves False Negatives(FNs)by complementing the limited range that can be detected in a single model because of the internal models composing *** the internal models remain suppressed for False Positives(FPs),GBE-AD provides better *** addition,we generated mean prediction error data in GBE-AD and inferred abnormal processes using soft and hard *** confirmed that the detection model’s Time-series Aware Precision(TaP)suppressed FPs at 97.67%.The final performance was 94.04%in an experiment using anHIL-basedAugmented ICS(HAI)Security Dataset(ver.21.03)among public datasets.

Metal halides have emerged as a new generation of semiconductors with applications ranging from solar cells to chemical *** assess the thermoelectric potential of Cs_(3)Cu_(2)I_(5),which has a crystal structure formed of zero-dimensional[Cu_(2)I_(5)]3−anionic clusters that are separated by Cs+counter *** find the compound exhibits the characteristics of a phonon-glass electroncrystal with a large imbalance in the conduction of heat and electrons predicted from first-principles transport *** anharmonic phonon–phonon scattering results in short-lived acoustic vibrations and an ultra-low lattice thermal conductivity(10 cm^(2)V^(−1)s^(−1)).For an n-type crystal at 600 K,a thermoelectric figure-of-merit ZT of 2.6 is found to be accessible,which for a cold source of 300 K corresponds to a thermodynamic heat-to-electricity conversion efficiency of 15%.

The mechanism regulating proteasomal activity under proteotoxic stress conditions remains ***,we showed that arsenite-induced proteotoxic stress resulted in upregulation of Arabidopsis homologous PUB22 and PUB23 U-boxE3 ubiquitin ligases and that pub22 pub23 double mutants displayed arsenite-insensitive seed germination and root growth ***22/PUB23 downregulated 26 S proteasome activity by promoting the dissociation of the 19 S regulatory particle from the holo-proteasome complex,resulting in intracellular accumulation of UbG76 VGFP,an artificial substrate of the proteasome complex,and insoluble poly-ubiquitinated *** results suggest that PUB22/PUB23 play a critical role in arsenite-induced proteotoxic stress response via negative regulation of 26 S proteasome integrity.

Radiotherapy for 65 patients with advanced unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma

AIM: To evaluate the efficacy of radiotherapy (RT) in patients with advanced unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). METHODS: A total of 65 patients were treated with RT in the Korea University Medical Center. The median age of the patients was 60 years, and 86.2% were men. 18.5% and 81.5% of the patients were diagnosed as TNM stage Ⅲ and Ⅳ-A, respectively. Treatment response was assessed 4 mo after initiation of RT. Tumor regression rate 1 mo after initiation of RT (TRR1m) was also assessed. Duration of survival was calculated from the initiation of RT. RESULTS: The objective treatment response was 56.9%. The 12 mo survival rate was 34.7%. Predictive factors for survival were Child-Pugh grade, α-fetoprotein level and treatment response. An objective response was achieved more frequently in patients with TRR1m ≥ 20% than in those with TRR1m < 20% (P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: RT is effective in treating advanced HCC with a tumor response rate of 56.9%.

Left-sided periappendiceal abscesses occur in association with two types of congenital anomaly: intestinal malrotation and situs inversus. It is diffi cult to obtain an accurate preoperative diagnosis of these abscesses due to the abnormal position of the appendix. We present an unusual case of a left-sided periappendiceal abscess in an adult with intestinal malrotation, the diagnosis of which was a challenge.

The innate immune response to invading viruses is critical for the mounting of protective immunity,in which type I interferons(IFN),for example,IFN-αandβ,are potent effector molecules.1 Most cell types,particularly fibroblasts and epithelial cells,produce IFN-β,whereas hematopoietic cells,notably plasmacytoid dendritic cells,are the predominant sources of IFN-α.IFNs potently stimulate a variety of innate and adaptive immune cells,including macrophages,NK cells and T *** binding of type I IFN to its cognate receptor triggers the activation of the Janus kinase signal transducer and activator of transcription pathway,which results in the transcription of IFNstimulated genes that play key roles in host resistance to viral infections.

Mineralogical and petrographic analysis on the flake graphite ore from Saba Boru area in Ethiopia

The mineralogy and petrography of natural graphite in Saba Boru of Ethiopia indicate that there exists flake graphite with a slightly oval structured fine size according to our study on thin and polished ***,for estimating the carbon content in graphite,the ASTM-C561,the test method for ash in a graphite sample,was *** characterizing graphite,x-ray diffraction,x-ray fluorescence,inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy,and scanning electron microscopy were also *** analysis of ore samples determined that the average compositions are 63.35%SiO2,15.45%Al2O3,2.36%Fe2O3,2.07%K2O,less than1%others,and loss-on-ignition(LOI)in the range of^4.74%–37.42%.The total carbon content of graphitic ore ranged from 4.11%to 33.14%.Importantly,when graphite is concentrated through floatation,its average purity and recovery are 92.97%and 90.82%,***,once the graphite concentrates are treated with hydrofluoric acid,the average value attains a high grade of 96.48%***,the average ash content is 81.93%(pre-flotation)and 3.1%(post-flotation),***,after beneficiation,a silica is identified as a major gangue(85.88%),usable as a raw material for other purposes such as ***,these graphite-bearing rocks seem to be worth exploring for commercialization opportunities.
