Prostate health index can stratify patients with Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System score 3 lesions on magnetic resonance imaging to reduce prostate biopsies

We aim to evaluate prostate health index as an additional risk-stratification tool in patients with Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System score 3 lesions on multiparametric magnetic resonance *** with biochemical or clinical suspicion of having prostate cancer who underwent multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging in two tertiary centers(Queen Mary Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital,Hong Kong,China)between January 2017 and June 2022 were ***-magnetic resonance imaging fusion biopsies were performed after prostate health index *** who only had Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System score 3 lesions were further stratified into four prostate health index risk groups and the cancer detection rates were *** of the 747 patients,47.3%had Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System score 3 lesions *** detection rate of clinically significant prostate cancer in this group was 15.0%.The cancer detection rates of clinically significant prostate cancer had statistically significant differences:5.3%in prostate health index<25.0,7.4%in prostate health index 25.0-34.9,17.9%in prostate health index 35.0-54.9,and 52.6%in prostate health index≥55.0(P<0.01).Among the patients,26.9%could have avoided a biopsy with a prostate health index<25.0,at the expense of a 5.3%risk of missing clinically significant prostate *** health index could be used as an additional risk stratification tool for patients with Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System score 3 *** could be avoided in patients with low prostate health index,with a small risk of missing clinically significant prostate cancer.

Endometriosis is a common chronic gynecological disease with endometrial cell implantation outside the *** is a major pathophysiology in *** previous studies have demonstrated that the prodrug of epigallocatechin gallate(ProEGCG)exhibits superior anti-endometriotic and anti-angiogenic effects compared to epigallocatechin gallate(EGCG).However,their direct binding targets and underlying mechanisms for the differential effects remain *** this study,we demonstrated that oral ProEGCG can be effective in preventing and treating ***,1D and 2D Proteome Integral Solubility Alteration assay-based chemical proteomics identified metadherin(MTDH)and PX domain containing serine/threonine kinase-like(PXK)as novel binding targets of EGCG and ProEGCG,*** simulation and BioLayer interferometry were used to confirm their binding *** results showed that MTDH-EGCG inhibited protein kinase B(Akt)-mediated angiogenesis,while PXK-ProEGCG inhibited epidermal growth factor(EGF)-mediated angiogenesis via the EGF/hypoxia-inducible factor(HIF-1a)/vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)*** vitro and in vivo knockdown assays and microvascular network imaging further confirmed the involvement of these signaling ***,our study demonstrated that ProEGCG has superior therapeutic effects than EGCG by targeting distinct signal transduction pathways and may act as a novel antiangiogenic therapy for endometriosis.

Connection Between Damping Torque Analysis and Energy Flow Analysis in Damping Performance Evaluation for Electromechanical Oscillations in Power Systems

The damping performance evaluation for electromechanical oscillations in power systems is crucial for the stable operation of modern power *** this paper,the connection between two commonly-used damping performance evaluation methods,i.e.,the damping torque analysis(DTA)and energy flow analysis(EFA),are systematically examined and revealed for the better understanding of the oscillatory damping ***,a concept of the aggregated damping torque coefficient is proposed and derived based on DTA of multi-machine power systems,which can characterize the integration effect of the damping contribution from the whole power ***,the pre-processing of measurements at the terminal of a local generator is conducted for EFA,and a concept of the frequency-decomposed energy attenuation coefficient is defined to screen the damping contribution with respect to the interested *** this basis,the frequency spectrum analysis of the energy attenuation coefficient is employed to rigorously prove that the results of DTA and EFA are essentially equivalent,which is valid for arbitrary types of synchronous generator models in multi-machine power ***,the consistency between the aggregated damping torque coefficient and frequency-decomposed energy attenuation coefficient is further verified by the numerical calculation in case *** relationship between the proposed coefficients and the eigenvalue(or damping ratio)is finally revealed,which consolidates the application of the proposed concepts in the damping performance evaluation.

“金声玉振”概念共现于《五行》与《孟子》,但学界目前对于此概念所包含的战国儒家共同的思想“本体”没有透彻的观照。如果尝试引入“本体诠释学”的方法,并对该方法进行分析检讨,将其自觉地运用于概念与概念史的诠释,有助于廓清“金声玉振”概念的相关争论,探索其背后更广阔的诠释空间。“金声玉振”以“玉振”收束、统摄并超越“金声”,表明《五行》《孟子》各自都对先秦儒家德性进行整合,以呈显儒学的“天道”或“圣道”内涵。进而,“金声玉振”以“金声”为始,“玉振”却没有终点。此比喻于人的道德修养而言,意味着天道本体在人身上具体化为内在“仁”德本性的自觉、培养、实践过程,且因人内在主体的创造性和经验世界的无限性,最终指向生生不已天道本体的无限展开、丰富与涌流。

Background:Previously published meta-epidemiological studies focused on Western medicine have identified some trial characteristics that impact the treatment effect of randomized controlled trials(RCTs).Nevertheless,it remains unclear if similar associations exist in RCTs on Chinese herbal medicine(CHM).Further,Chinese medicine-related characteristics have not been explored ***:To investigate trial characteristics related to treatment effect estimates on CHM *** strategy:This meta-epidemiological study searched 5 databases for systematic reviews on CHM treatment published between January 2011 and July *** criteria:An eligible systematic review should only include RCTs of CHM and conduct at least one *** extraction and analysis:Two reviewers independently conducted data extraction on general characteristics of systematic reviews,meta-analyses and included *** also assessed the risk of bias of RCTs using the Cochrane risk of bias tool.A two-step approach was used for data *** ratio of odds ratios(ROR) and difference in standardized mean differences (dSMD) with 95%confidence interval (CI) were applied to present the difference in effect estimates for binary and continuous outcomes,***:Ninety-one systematic reviews,comprising 1338 RCTs were *** binary outcomes,RCTs incorporated with syndrome differentiation (ROR:1.23;95%CI:[1.07,1.39]),adopting Chinese medicine formula (ROR:1.19;95%CI:[1.03,1.34]),with low risk of bias on incomplete outcome data (ROR:1.29;95%CI:[1.06,1.52]) and selective outcome reporting (ROR:1.12;95%CI:[1.01,1.24]),as well as a trial size≥100 (ROR:1.23;95%CI:[1.04,1.42]) preferred to show larger effect *** for continuous outcomes,RCTs with Chinese medicine diagnostic criteria (dSMD:0.23;95%CI:[0.06,0.41]),judged as high/unclear risk of bias on allocation concealment (dSMD:-0.70;95%CI:[-0.99,-0.42]),with low risk of bias on incomplete outcome data (dSMD:0.30

目的探讨甲状腺激素水平与司法精神医学鉴定中交通事故所致颅脑外伤患者的关系。方法选取2022年5月至2023年5月司法鉴定所进行司法精神医学鉴定为交通事故所致颅脑损伤且存在一定的精神障碍的92例被鉴定人为研究对象,根据其病情将其分为边缘精神障碍组(n=41)、轻度精神障碍组(n=35)、中度精神障碍组(n=10)、重度精神障碍组(n=6),另选取就诊的50例非颅脑损伤和精神障碍患者,分别分析不同程度颅脑损伤、精神障碍患者和非精神障碍患者、精神障碍不同等级患者及重度精神障碍患者存活与死亡的甲状腺激素水平、伤残鉴定结果及其与甲状腺激素、精神障碍分级的关系。结果中、重型颅脑损伤组T 3、FT 3水平均低于轻型颅脑损伤组,且3组T 3、FT 3水平均随着颅脑损伤程度的加重而呈现出明显下降趋势(P0.05),与精神障碍分级之间有相关性(P<0.05)。结论甲状腺激素T 3、FT 3水平与颅脑损伤合并精神障碍、精神伤残鉴定结果存在相关性。

Anti-anger Effects of Herbal Medicine:A Mini-Review of Rat Studies

Objective:To analyze the available data on the anti-anger effects of herbal medicines(HMs)as well as their underlying mechanisms in rat ***:From 6 electronic databases[PubMed,EMBASE,China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang,Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System(OASIS),and Research Information Sharing Service(RISS)],relevant animal experiments were searched by using"anger,""rats,"and"animal"as search *** last search was conducted on November 22,2019,and all experiments involving rat models of anger and treatment using HMs published until the date of the search were ***:A total of 24 studies with 16 kinds of HMs were *** studies have used the tail irritating method and"social isolation and resident intruder"method to establish anger *** to the included studies,the therapeutic mechanisms of HMs for anger regulation and important herbs by their frequency and/or preclinical evidence mainly incladed regulation of hemorheology(Bupleuri Radix,Paeoniae Radix Alba,and Glycyrrhizae Radix),regulation of sex hormones(Bupleuri Radix,Cyperi Rhizoma,and Paeoniae Radix Alba),regulation of neurotransmitters(Cyperi Rhizoma),regulation of anger-related genes(Bupleuri Radix,Glycyrrhizae Radix,and Paeoniae Radix Alba),and other ***,Liver(Gan)qi-smoothing herbs including Bupleuri Radix and Cyperi Rhizoma were the most frequently ***:This review found the frequent methods to establish an anger model,and major mechanisms of anti-anger effects of ***,some Liver qi-smoothing herbs have been frequently used to investigate the anti-anger effects of *** findings provide insight into the role and relevance of HMs in the field of anger management.

【目的】探究壮通饮通过Nrf2-SCL7A11/xCT-Gpx4通路调控铁死亡对大脑中动脉栓塞模型小鼠脑缺血再灌注损伤的保护作用及其机制。【方法】将C57BL/6J小鼠随机分为假手术组(Sham)、模型组(MCAO)、低剂量壮通饮组(ZTY-L+MCAO),高剂量壮通饮组(ZTY-H+MCAO),每组5只。其中MCAO组采用硅胶线栓法进行造模,小鼠大脑中动脉栓塞1h,拔出线栓再灌注72h后进行心脏灌注取脑,Sham组除了不插入线栓其余操作同MCAO组。采用Zea-Longa法对小鼠神经功能进行评分;采用TTC染色评估小鼠脑梗死体积;采用HE染色、尼氏染色评估脑损伤程度;采用普鲁士蓝染色评价三价铁离子蓄积水平;qPCR检测铁离子转运相关载体受体TfR1和DMT1、脂质过氧化相关基因ACSL4以及铁死亡标志物PTGS2 mRNA表达;ELISA试剂盒检测4-HNE的含量评估小鼠大脑脂质过氧化水平;Western-blot、免疫荧光检测小鼠脑组织中Nrf2、SCL7A11/xCT、Gpx4蛋白水平。【结果】①壮通饮改善了MCAO/R后小鼠神经功能(P<0.05)和大脑梗死体积(P<0.05)及缓解MCAO/R后大脑皮层细胞病理损伤。②壮通饮减弱了MCAO/R后小鼠大脑组织的三价铁离子蓄积状态;减少MCAO/R后小鼠大脑中与铁离子转运入细胞内相关载体TfR1和DMT1 mRNA的表达(P<0.001);下调MCAO/R后小鼠大脑脂质过氧化物4-HNE含量和组织脂质过氧化物酶ACSL4 mRNA表达(P<0.001);降低MCAO/R后小鼠大脑铁死亡标志物PTGS2 mRNA表达(P<0.001)。③壮通饮增加MCAO/R后Nrf2入核表达(P<0.001),以及增加xCT和Gpx4在神经元中的表达(P<0.001)。【结论】壮通饮能够改善MCAO/R小鼠神经功能和脑梗死体积,缓解大脑皮层细胞病理损伤,影响Nrf2-SCL7A11/xCT-Gpx4通路关键信号分子表达,所以壮通饮改善小鼠MCAO/R损伤的作用机制可能是通过Nrf2-SCL7A11/xCT-Gpx4通路调节铁死亡水平达到的。
