In this article,we review our previous research for spatial and temporal characterizations of the San Andreas Fault(SAF)at Parkfield,using the fault-zone trapped wave(FZTW)since the middle ***,California has been taken as a scientific seismic experimental site in the USA since the 1970s,and the SAF is the target fault to investigate earthquake physics and *** than ten types of field experiments(including seismic,geophysical,geochemical,geodetic and so on)have been carried out at this experimental site since *** the fall of 2003,a pair of scientific wells were drilled at the San Andreas Fault Observatory at Depth(SAFOD)site;the main-hole(MH)passed a~200-m-wide low-velocity zone(LVZ)with highly fractured rocks of the SAF at a depth of~3.2 km below the wellhead on the ground level(Hickman et al.,2005;Zoback,2007;Lockner et al.,2011).Borehole seismographs were installed in the SAFOD MH in 2004,which were located within the LVZ of the fault at~3-km depth to probe the internal structure and physical properties of the *** September 282004,a M6 earthquake occurred~15 km southeast of the town of *** data recorded in the field experiments before and after the 2004 M6 earthquake provided a unique opportunity to monitor the co-mainshock damage and post-seismic heal of the SAF associated with this strong *** retrospective review of the results from a sequence of our previous experiments at the Parkfield SAF,California,will be valuable for other researchers who are carrying out seismic experiments at the active faults to develop the community seismic wave velocity models,the fault models and the earthquake forecasting models in global seismogenic regions.

Accelerator-based ion-beam irradiation has been widely used to mimic the effects of neutron radiation damage in nuclear ***,ion radiation is most often monodisperse in the incoming ions’momentum direction,leading to excessive polarization in defect distribution,while the scattering under neutron irradiation is often more isotropic and has less radiation-induced *** of the excess-polarization as well as the damage non-uniformity artifact might be crucial for making the simulation of neutron radiation by ion-beam radiation more *** this work,a general radiation polarization theory in treating radiation as external polar stimuli is established to understand the natural material responses in different contexts,and the possibility to correct the defect polarization artifact in ion-beam *** by Magic Angle Spinning in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance,we present a precise sample spinning strategy to reduce the point-defect imbalance effect in ion-beam *** can be seen that with optimized surface inclination angle and the axis of sample rotation,the vacancy-interstitial population imbalance,as well as the damage profile non-uniformity in a designated region in the target are both *** is estimated that sample spinning frequency on the order of kHz should be sufficient to scramble the ion momentum monodispersity for commonly taken ion fluxes and dose rates,which is experimentally feasible.

Transition metal sulfide(TMS)anodes exhibit the characteristics of phase stability and high capacity for lithium/sodium-ion batteries(liBs/SIBs).However,the TMS anodes often suffer from poor electronic conductivity,low ionic diffusion and large volume expansion during li/Na-ion intercalation significantly impairing the li/Na-storage ***,a long chain heterostructure composed of the Co_(9)S_(8) and SnS are first reported,which can generate rich phase interfaces,and small crystal *** unique structure can facilitate the properties of reactivity,conductivity and ionic *** addition,the heterostructure surface is modified by the N-doped carbon(N-DC@(CoSn)S),successfully improving the structural *** synergistic effects of Co_(9)S_(8)/SnS heterostructure and coated carbon layer effectively increase the capacity and cycling *** N-DC@(CoSn)S anode delivers enhanced high specific capacities of 820.6 mAh·g^(−1) at 1.0 A·g^(–1) after 500 cycles for liBs and 339.2 mAh·g^(–1)at 0.5 A·g^(–1) after 1000 cycles for SIBs,*** work is expected to provide a material design idea for preparing liBs/SIBs with high capacity and long cycling life.

The change in surface damage/microstructures and its effects on the hydrogen(H)isotope/helium(He)dynamic behavior are the key factors for investigating issues of tungsten(W)-based plasma-facing materials(PFMs)in fusion such as surface erosion,H/He retention and tritium(T)*** surface damage/microstructures are introduced in W by high-temperature plasma irradiation and new material design,typically including pre-damage and multi-ion co-deposition induced structures,solute elements and related composites,native defects like dislocations and interfaces,and *** experimental and theoretical researches were performed on H isotope/He retention in complex W-based materials in the past *** this review,we aim to provide an overview of typical surface damage/microstructures and their effects on H/He retention in W,both in the experiment and multiscale *** distribution/state,dynamics evolution,and interaction with defects/microstructures of H/He are generally summarized at different ***,the current difficulties,challenges and future directions are also discussed about H/He retention in complex W-based PFMs.

Two-dimensional MoSe_(2) is a promising candidate for lithium-ion battery ***,its conductivity and lithium storage volumetric effect still need to be *** this work,W-doped MoSe_(2)/rGO paper-like microspheres are successfully prepared through ultrasonic spray pyrolysis,achieving optimization at both the microstructure and mesostructure to enhance the lithium storage performance of the ***,by utilizing the similar two-dimensional structure between MoSe_(2) and rGO,self-assembly is achieved through spray pyrolysis,resulting in a well-defined van der Waals heterostructure at the interface on the microscale,enhancing the electron and ion transfer capability of the ***,the mesoscale paper-like microsphere morphology provides additional volume expansion buffering ***,W-doping not only increases the interlayer spacing of MoSe_(2)(0.73 nm),thereby reducing the diffusion resistance of li+,but also allow for the modulation of the energy band structure of the *** functional theory(DFT)calculations confirm that W-doped MoSe_(2)/rGO exhibits the narrowest bandgap(0.892 eV).Therefore,the composite demonstrates excellent lithium storage performance,maintaining a specific capacity of 732.9 mAh·g^(-1)after 300 cycles at a current density of 1 A·g^(-1).

The goal of this study is to design and synthesize a linear segmented shape memory poly（urethane-urea）（SMPUU） that possesses near-body-temperature shape memory temperature （Ttran） and enhanced mechanical properties by incorporating flexible poly（ethylene glycol） 400 （PEG400） to form poly（D,L-lactic acid）-based macro- diols （PDLLA-PEG400-PDLLA） and then rigid piperazine （PPZ） as a chain extender to form the desired SMPUUs （PEG400-PUU-PPZ）. PEG400 increased Mn while maintaining a lower Tg of PDLLA-PEG400-PDLLA, which together with PPZ improved the mechanical properties of PEG400-PUU-PPZ. The obtained optimum SMPUU with enhanced mechanical properties （O＇y = 24.28 MPa; zf = 698%; Uf = 181.5 MJIm3） and a Tg of 40.62~C exhibited sound shape memory properties as well, suggesting a promising SMPUU for in vivo biomedical applications.

A novel biodegradable polymer--poly （ethene maleic acid ester-co-D,L-lactide acid） was synthesized by copolymerizing lactide and prepolymer, which was prepared by the condensation of maleic anhydride and glycol, using p-toluene sulphonic acid as a catalyst, attempting to improve the hydrophilicity, increase flexibility and modulate the degradation rate. FTIR,^1H NMR, MALLS and DSC were employed to characterize these polymers.

Objective:To determine the clinical characteristics and prognosis of primary tracheobronchial tumors(PTTs)in children,and to explore the most common tumor identification ***:The medical records of children with PTTs who were hospitalized at the Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from January 1995 to January 2020 were reviewed *** clinical features,imaging,treatments,and outcomes of these patients were statistically *** learning techniques such as Gaussian na?ve Bayes,support vector machine(SVM)and decision tree models were used to identify mucoepidermoid carcinoma(ME).Results:A total of 16 children were hospitalized with PTTs during the study *** included 5(31.3%)children with ME,3(18.8%)children with inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors(IMT),2 children(12.5%)with sarcomas,2(12.5%)children with papillomatosis and 1 child(6.3%)each with carcinoid carcinoma,adenoid cystic carcinoma(ACC),hemangioma,and schwannoma,*** was the most common tumor type and amongst the 3 ME recognition methods,the SVM model showed the best *** main clinical symptoms of PPTs were cough(81.3%),breathlessness(50%),wheezing(43.8%),progressive dyspnea(37.5%),hemoptysis(37.5%),and fever(25%).Of the 16 patients,7 were treated with surgery,8 underwent bronchoscopic tumor resection,and 1 child *** the 11 other children,3 experienced recurrence,and the last 8 remained *** deaths were observed during the follow-up ***:PTT are very rare in children and the highest percentage of cases is due to *** SVM model was highly accurate in identifying *** CT and bronchoscopy can effectively diagnose *** and bronchoscopic intervention can both achieve good clinical results and the prognosis of the 11 children that were followed up was good.

Activity and Composition of Ammonia-Oxidizing Bacteria in an Aquic Brown Soil as Influenced by Land Use and Fertilization

The effects of long-term (19 years) different land use and fertilization on activity and composition of ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB) in an aquic brown soil were investigated in a field experiment in liaoning Province,*** 19-year experiment conducted from 1990 to 2008 involved seven treatments designed: cropping rotation of soybean-corn-corn with no fertilizer (control,CK),recycled manure (RM),fertilizer nitrogen (N),phosphorous (P) and potassium (K) (NPK),NPK+RM,and no-crop bare land,mowed fallow,and non-mowed *** results showed that the potential nitrification rates of the RM,NPK+RM,mowed fallow,and non-mowed fallow treatments were significantly higher (P lications of recycled manure and return of plant residues both significantly increased the activity of *** the application of NPK did not enhance soil potential nitrification because of decreased pH,available K had an important effect on potential *** gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) fingerprint profiles showed that no-crop treatments had an increase in the diversity of the AOB community compared to the CK,RM,and NPK treatments,implying that agricultural practices,especially tillage,had an adverse effect on the soil AOB *** NPK+RM treatment had the most diverse DGGE patterns possibly because of the increased available P in this treatment.A phylogenetic analysis showed that most of the DGGE bands derived belonged to Nitrosospira cluster 3,not Nitrosospira cluster *** demonstrated that different land use and fertilization significantly influenced the activity and composition of the AOB community by altering the soil properties,mainly including pH,total C,available K,and available P.
