Different mechanisms underlie similar species-area relationships in two tropical archipelagoes

Despite much research in the field of island biogeography,mechanisms regulating insular diversity remain ***,we aim to explore mechanisms underlying plant species-area relationships in two tropical archipelagoes in the South China *** found positive plant species-area relationships for both coral and continental ***,our results showed that different mechanisms contributed to similar plant species-area relationships between the two *** coral islands,soil nutrients and spatial distance among communities played major roles in shaping plant community structure and species *** contrast,the direct effect of island area,and to a lesser extent,soil nutrients determined plant species richness on continental ***,increasing soil nutrients availability(N,P,K)had opposite effects on plant diversity between the two *** summary,the habitat quality effect and dispersal limitation are important for regulating plant diversity on coral islands,whereas the passive sampling effect,and to a lesser extent,the habitat quality effect are important for regulating plant diversity on continental *** generally,our findings indicate that island plant species-area relationships are outcomes of the interplay of both niche and neutral processes,but the driving mechanisms behind these relationships depends on the type of islands.

Aero-Hydro-Elastic-Servo Modeling and Dynamic Response Analysis of A Monopile Offshore Wind Turbine Under Different Operating Scenarios

This paper constructs a coupled aero-hydro-elastic-servo simulation framework for a monopile offshore wind turbine(OWT).In this framework,a detailed multi-body dynamics model of the monopile OWT including the gearbox,blades,tower and other components(nacelle,hub,bedplate,etc.)has been explicitly *** effects of pile−soil interaction,controller and operational conditions on the turbine dynamic responses are studied systematically in time domain and frequency *** results show that(1)a comprehensive drivetrain model has the capability to provide a more precise representation of the complex dynamic characteristics exhibited by drivetrain components,which can be used as the basis for further study on the dynamic characteristics of the drivetrain.(2)The pile−soil interaction can influence the wind turbine dynamic responses,particularly under the parked condition.(3)The effect of the pile−soil interaction on tower responses is more significant than that on blade responses.(4)The use of the controller can substantially affect the rotor characteristics,which in turn influences the turbine dynamic responses.(5)The tower and blade displacements under the operational condition are much larger than those under the parked *** model and methodology presented in this study demonstrate potential for examining complex dynamic behaviors of the monopile *** ensure accuracy and precision,it is imperative to construct a detailed model of the wind turbine system,while also taking into account simulation efficiency.

Recovery and in-situ reduction of precious metals by graphdiyne and graphdiyne oxide for antibacterial use

Based on the in-situ self-reduction and chemical stability,graphdiyne(GDY)and graphdiyne oxide(GDYO)are used as trapping agents to investigate the ability for recovering Au^(3+),Ag^+,and Pd^(2+)under different pH values and interfering *** strong acidity at pH=1,these two agents demonstrate high select recovery towards the three precious metal ions,which could be insitu reduced to nanoparticles(NPs).In addition,superparamagnetic Fe_(3)O_(4)NPs are deposited on the surfaces of GDY and *** magnetic responses enable GDYFe_(3)O_(4)to recover precious metals conveniently and efficiently by the aid of an external magnetic *** study also confirms the antibacterial activity of the as-recovered NPs deposited on GDY and GDYO against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus(1×10^(5)colony-forming unit(CFU)·mL^(-1)),and the antibacterial rates are 100%.This strategy of recovering precious metals and subsequently reusing to combat pathogens will be of great significance for environmental remediation and biomedical applications.

Heat Transfer and Friction Characteristics of Printed Circuit Heat Exchangers with Different Channel Structures for S-CO_(2) Power System

Printed circuit heat exchanger(PCHE)has been widely used in supercritical carbon dioxide(S-CO_(2))power systems because of its high heat transfer efficiency and good ***,due to the large variety of PCHE configurations,channel selection in practical applications lacks a ***,this paper discussed the heat transfer and friction characteristics and the synergy of three fields in the channel under the guidance of the field synergy principle for four typical PCHE ***,the comprehensive performance of four channels was ***,the heat transfer and friction factor correlations for S-CO_(2)in four channels were *** findings demonstrate that the synergy of velocity and pressure fields of the straight channel PCHE is better(β≈180°),so its resistance loss is relatively *** zigzag and sinusoidal wavy channels and the airfoil fins can reduce the angle a between the temperature gradient and velocity,thus enhancing the heat *** sinusoidal wavy channel can reduce flow resistance compared to the zigzag channel due to the rounded *** streamlined airfoil structure can guide the flow and reduce backflow,thus reducing resistance *** the range of Re studied in this paper,the maximum error of the proposed heat transfer and friction factor correlations of PCHE is 7.0%,which shows good fitting *** research in this paper can provide a reference for the selection and design of PCHE with different channel configurations.

The dynamics beamline(D-line),which combines synchrotron radiation infrared spectroscopy(SR-IR)and energy-disper-sive X-ray absorption spectroscopy(ED-XAS),is the first beamline in the world to realize concurrent ED-XAS and SR-IR measurements at the same sample position on a millisecond time-resolved *** combined technique is effective for investigating rapid structural changes in atoms,electrons,and molecules in complicated disorder systems,such as those used in physics,chemistry,materials science,and extreme ***,ED-XAS and SR-IR can be used independently in the two branches of the *** ED-XAS branch is the first ED-XAS beamline in China,which uses a tapered undulator light source and can achieve approximately 2.5×10^(12)photons/s·300 eV BW@7.2 keV at the sample *** exchange-able polychromator operating in the Bragg-reflection or Laue-transmission configuration is used in different energy ranges to satisfy the requirements for beam size and energy *** focused beam size is approximately 3.5μm(H)×21.5μm(V),and the X-ray energy range is 5–25 *** one-and two-dimensional position-sensitive detectors with frame rates of up to 400 kHz enables time resolutions of tens of microseconds to be *** distinctive techniques,such as the concurrent measurement of in situ ED-XAS and infrared spectroscopy,time-resolved ED-XAS,high-pressure ED-XAS,XMCD,and pump-probe ED-XAS,can be applied to achieve different scientific goals.

Spatiotemporal characteristics and driving mechanisms of land use/land cover(LULC)changes in the Jinghe River Basin,China

Understanding the trajectories and driving mechanisms behind land use/land cover(LULC)changes is essential for effective watershed planning and *** study quantified the net change,exchange,total change,and transfer rate of LULC in the Jinghe River Basin(JRB),China using LULC data from 2000 to *** trajectory analysis,knowledge maps,chord diagrams,and standard deviation ellipse method,we examined the spatiotemporal characteristics of LULC *** further established an index system encompassing natural factors(digital elevation model(DEM),slope,aspect,and curvature),socio-economic factors(gross domestic product(GDP)and population),and accessibility factors(distance from railways,distance from highways,distance from water,and distance from residents)to investigate the driving mechanisms of LULC changes using factor detector and interaction detector in the geographical detector(Geodetector).The key findings indicate that from 2000 to 2020,the JRB experienced significant LULC changes,particularly for farmland,forest,and *** the study period,LULC change trajectories were categorized into stable,early-stage,late-stage,repeated,and continuous change *** the stable change type,the late-stage change type predominated the LULC change trajectories,comprising 83.31% of the total change *** period 2010-2020 witnessed more active LULC changes compared to the period *** LULC changes exhibited a discrete spatial expansion trend during 2000-2020,predominantly extending from southeast to northwest of the *** driving factors on LULC changes included slope,GDP,and distance from *** interaction detection results imply either bilinear or nonlinear enhancement for any two driving factors impacting the LULC changes from 2000 to *** comprehensive understanding of the spatiotemporal characteristics and driving mechanisms of LULC changes offers valuable insights for the planning and sustainable management

The introduction of entropy concept into thermoelectric materials recently has attracted broad ***,we showed the phase diagram of the ternary systems of Bi_(2)Se_(3)-Sb_(2)Se_(3)-In_(2)Se_(3).Among the high entropy compounds (HECs),we have identified an intrinsic p-type region near our previously reported Bi_(0.8)Sb_(0.8)In_(0.4)Se_(3) in the phase diagram.

Cytochrome P45026A1 Contributes to the Maintenance of Neuropathic Pain

The cytochrome P450 proteins(CYP450s)have been implicated in catalyzing numerous important biological reactions and contribute to a variety of ***26A1,a member of the CYP450 family,carries out the oxidative metabolism of retinoic acid(RA),the active metabolite of vitamin *** we report that CYP26A1 was dramatically upregulated in the spinal cord after spinal nerve ligation(SNL).CYP26A1 was mainly expressed in spinal neurons and *** analysis displayed that the content of all-trans-RA(at-RA),the substrate of CYP26A1,was reduced in the spinal cord on day 7 after *** of CYP26A1 by siRNA or inhibition of CYP26A1-mediated at-RA catabolism by talarozole relieved the SNL-induced mechanical allodynia during the maintenance phase of neuropathic *** also reduced SNL-induced glial activation and proinflammatory cytokine production but increased anti-inflammatory cytokine(IL-10)*** RA receptors RARα,RXRβ,and RXRγwere expressed in spinal neurons and glial *** promoter of Il-10 has several binding sites for RA receptors,and at-RA directly increased Il-10 mRNA expression in ***,intrathecal IL-10 attenuated SNL-induced neuropathic pain and reduced the activation of astrocytes and ***,the inhibition of CYP26A1-mediated at-RA catabolism alleviates SNL-induced neuropathic pain by promoting the expression of IL-10 and suppressing glial ***26A1 may be a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of neuropathic pain.

Searches for multi-Z boson productions and anomalous gauge boson couplings at a muon collider

Multi-boson productions can be exploited as novel probes either for standard model precision tests or new physics searches,and have become a popular research topic in ongoing LHC experiments and future collider studies,including those for electron–positron and muon–muon *** this study,we focus on two examples,i.e.,ZZZ direct productions through μ^(+)μ^(-) annihilation at a 1TeV muon collider,and ZZ productions through vector boson scattering(VBS)at a 10TeV muon collider,with an integrated luminosity of 10 ab^(-1).Various channels are considered,including ZZZ→4l2v and ZZZ→4l+*** expected significance on these multi-Z boson production processes is reported based on a detailed Monte Carlo study and signal background *** on anomalous gauge boson couplings are also presented.

A Hybrid Channel Stock Model for Stock Price Forecasting with Multifaceted Feature Fusion

Stock market is volatile and predicting stock prices is a challenging *** prices are influenced by multiple factors,and prediction using only numerical or image features is *** solve this problem,we propose a Hybrid Channel Stock model that incorporates multiple features of basic stock data,K-line charts and technical indicator factors for predicting the closing price of a stock on day n+*** model combines multiple aspects of data and uses a multi-channel structure including improved CNN-TW,bidirectional LSTM and Transformer ***,we construct the multi-channel branches of the multi-faceted feature fusion input network model;second,in this paper,we will use the concatenate method to stitch the output of each branch as the input of the rest of the network;the last layer in the network is the fully connected layer,which combines the linear activation function regression to output the predicted ***,we conducted extensive experiments on the Dow 30,SSH 50 and CSI100 *** experimental results show that the Hybrid Channel Stock method has the best performance with the smallest MSE,RMSE,MAE and MAPE compared with existing *** addition,the experiments on different trading days validate the stability and effectiveness of the model,providing an important reference for investors to make stock investment decisions.
