Vesicoureteral reflux(VUR)is one of the most common urinary tract anomalies in children and causes renal damage and studies focusing on the effect of VUR on renal function are *** recruited 35 primary VUR patients with recurrent urinary tract infection(UTI)and 10 non-VUR patients with recurrent ***-enhanced voiding urosonography(ceVUS)was performed for VUR grading,and renal dynamic imaging was used for evaluating glomerular filtration rate(GFR,mL/min).Standardized GFR(sGFR),namely GFR/BSA(mL·min-1·m-2),was calculated based on the body surface area(BSA).Total sGFR(tsGFR,mL·min-1·m-2)was obtained from the sum of sGFR on the left and right sides of all the *** risk of renal regurgitation was equal in the unilateral reflux *** sGFR of children with grade Ⅳ(45.74±18.05mL·min-1·m-2)and grade V(49.67±23.63mL·min-1·m-2)reflux was significantly lower than that in children with grade Ⅱ(77.69±22.21 mL·min-1·m-2).The renal function compensation of contralateral non-reflux kidney increased in unilateral reflux group,which was higher than that in the control group and level Ⅱ,Ⅳ and Ⅴ of reflux group *** VUR group of the same grade,sGFR decreased with the age at *** unilateral grade V refux group,the tsGFR was lower than that in the unilateral grade I reflux group(133.51±48.21 vs.186.87+53.49mL·min-1·m-2).The patients with VUR of unilateral grade Ⅱ were significantly older than those with VUR of unilateral grades Ⅱ and Ⅳ.This study indicates that severe VUR is significantly associated with decreased renal ***,VUR should be diagnosed early and managed individually.

The distribution of the immune system throughout the body complicates in vitro assessments of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)immunobiology,often resulting in a lack of reproducibility when extrapolated to the whole ***,developing animal models is imperative for a comprehensive understanding of the pathology and immunology of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)*** review summarizes current progress related to COVID-19 animal models,including non-human primates(NHPs),mice,and hamsters,with a focus on their roles in exploring the mechanisms of immunopathology,immune protection,and long-term effects of SARS-CoV-2 infection,as well as their application in immunoprevention and immunotherapy of SARS-CoV-2 *** among these animal models and their specific applications are also highlighted,as no single model can fully encapsulate all aspects of *** effectively address the challenges posed by COVID-19,it is essential to select appropriate animal models that can accurately replicate both fatal and non-fatal infections with varying courses and *** animal model libraries and associated research tools is key to resolving the global COVID-19 pandemic,serving as a robust resource for future emerging infectious diseases.

Transcription factors（TFs）play critical roles in the development of the nervous system,but the transcriptional regulatory mechanisms of these genes are poorly *** we analyzed 5-kb of the 5＇ flanking genomic DNA sequences of 41 TF genes involved in neuronal *** results showed that the TF genes tend to have higher GC contents in the proximal region and most of the TF genes have at least one proximal GC-rich（GC content60%）promoter with a CpG *** promoter distribution analysis showed that the GC-poor promoters were sporadically distributed within the 5-kb flanking genomic sequence（FGS）;however,more than half（37 of 70）of the GC-rich promoters were located in the proximal region between nucleotides—1 and—*** assays showed that partial GC-rich promoters increased gene expression in SH-SY5Y cells and that CpG methylation repressed the promoter *** study suggests a potential general mechanism for regulation of TF expression.

Ion channels are crucial in the generation and modulation of excitability in the nervous system and have been implicated in human epilepsy. Forty-one epilepsyassociated ion channel genes and their mutations are systematically reviewed. In this paper, we analyzed the genotypes, functional alterations（funotypes）, and phenotypes of these mutations. Eleven genes featured loss-offunction mutations and six had gain-of-function *** genes displayed diversified funotypes, among which a distinct funotype-phenotype correlation was found in SCN1A. These data suggest that the funotype is an essential consideration in evaluating the pathogenicity of mutations and a distinct funotype or funotype-phenotype correlation helps to define the pathogenic potential of a gene.

he silkworm, Bombyx mori, is an economically important insect with a 5 000-year history of domestication. During evolution, the silkworm has developed highly effective defenses against invasion and parasitization by microorganisms. In this study, two microorganisms Escherichia coli and Bacillus bombyseptieus were orally infected to silk- worm larvae. After infection with E. coli and B. bombyseptieus for 24 h, we investigated the polypeptide changes in the hemolymph, midgut and integument using two-dimensional gel electrophoresis and matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time of flight mass spec- trometry. Forty-seven differentially expressed proteins were identified in these tissues. They belonged to a variety of functional classes, including immune proteins, metabolic proteins and structural proteins. Compared with controls, E. coli-infected silkworms showed 21 up- regulated proteins, 25 down-regulated proteins and lost one protein. After infection with B. bombyseptieus, silkworms showed 15 up-regulated proteins, 27 down-regulated pro- teins, lost three proteins and retained two proteins unchanged. We speculate that all these proteins may play a role in the silkworm immune response, although it is unclear why and how the two kinds of bacteria can so markedly alter expression of these proteins. These re- sults offer valuable insights for measuring the proteomic responses of the silkworm innate immune mechanism.

This paper presents a new technique for measuring the bunch length of a high-energy electron beam at a bunch-by-bunch rate in storage *** technique uses the time–frequency-domain joint analysis of the bunch signal to obtain bunch-by-bunch and turn-by-turn longitudinal parameters,such as bunch length and synchronous *** bunch signal is obtained using a button electrode with a bandwidth of several *** data acquisition device was a high-speed digital oscilloscope with a sampling rate of more than 10 GS/s,and the single-shot sampling data buffer covered thousands of *** bunch-length and synchronous phase information were extracted via offline calculations using Python *** calibration coefficient of the system was determined using a commercial streak ***,this technique was tested on two different storage rings and successfully captured various longitudinal transient processes during the harmonic cavity debugging process at the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility(SSRF),and longitudinal instabilities were observed during the single-bunch accumulation process at Hefei Light Source(HLS).For Gaussian-distribution bunches,the uncertainty of the bunch phase obtained using this technique was better than 0.2 ps,and the bunch-length uncertainty was better than 1 *** dynamic range exceeded 10 *** technology is a powerful and versatile beam diagnostic tool that can be conveniently deployed in high-energy electron storage rings.

With the development of intelligent technology,the problem of Li DAR-based localization has played an increasingly important role in the localization of robots in unmanned *** the dense point clouds from the environment requires a large amount of memory,specific and stable structural features,such as pole-like objects in the environment,can serve as the ideal landmarks for localization in unmanned systems,which can effectively reduce the memory usage and mitigate the effects of dynamic environment *** this paper,the authors propose a pole-like objects extraction approach and then,it is applied into the localization system of mobile *** the same experimental conditions,the proposed method can extract more pole-like objects and achieve better long-term localization accuracy than some existing methods in different urban environmental datasets.

Biofouling has been a persistent problem in marine riser system, resulting in energy waste and equipment damage. Inthis study, a kind of water wave-driven contact-mode flexible triboelectric nanogeneration has been prepared byusing graphene-doped PDMS as dielectric friction material. When the graphene content is 2%, the average outputvoltage can reach 46 V under the contact frequency 10 Hz. The flexible triboelectric nanogeneration encapsulationmodule is impinged by water waves to generate alternating microelectric field on the riser surface and destroy theadhesion conditions of microorganisms during the biofilm stage. In the biofouling experiments at different stages, thebiofouling area of the platymonas subcordiformis has been reduced by 53%, 62% and 61%. It provides a new ideafor effective treatment of biofouling of mussels, oysters and barnacles attached to risers.
