AIM:To investigate whether a virus constitutively expressing active Akt is useful to prevent cirrhosis induced by carbon tetrachloride(CCl4).METHODS:Using cre-loxp technique,we created an Ad-myr-HA-Akt virus,in which Akt is labeled by a HA tag and its expression is driven by myr ***,through measuring enzyme levels and histological structure,we determined the efficacy of this Ad-myrHA-Akt virus in inhibiting the development of cirrhosis induced by CCl4in ***,using western blotting,we examined the expression levels and/or phosphorylation status of Akt,apoptotic mediators,endothelial nitric oxide synthase(eNOS),and markers for hepatic stellate cells activation to understand the underlying mechanisms of protective role of this ***:The Ad-myr-HA-Akt virus was confirmed using polymerase chain reaction amplification of inserted Akt gene and sequencing for full length of inserted fragment,which was consistent with the sequence reported in the *** concentrations of Admyr-HA-Akt and adenoviral enhanced green fluorescent protein(Ad-EGFP)virus used in the current study were5.5×1011vp/*** portal vein diameter,peak velocity of blood flow,portal blood flow and congestion index were significantly increased in untreated,saline and Ad-EGFP cirrhosis groups when compared to normal control after the virus was introduced to animal through tail veil *** contrast,these parameters in the Akt cirrhosis group were comparable to normal control *** to the normal control,the liver function(Alanine aminotransferase,Aspartate aminotransferase and Albumin)was significantly impaired in the untreated,saline and Ad-EGFP cirrhosis *** Akt cirrhosis group showed significant improvement of liver function when compared to the untreated,saline and Ad-EGFP cirrhosis *** Hyp level and portal vein pressure in Akt cirrhosis groups were also significantly lower than other cirrhosis *** results of HE and Van Gieson staining indic

Silk damping is well known in the study of cosmic microwave background（CMB） and accounts for suppression of the angular power spectrum of CMB on large angular multipoles. In this article, we study the effect of Silk damping on the scalar-induced gravitational waves（SIGWs）. Resulting from the dissipation of cosmic fluid, the Silk damping notably suppresses the energydensity spectrum of SIGWs on scales comparable to a diffusion scale at the decoupling time of weakly-interacting particles. The effect offers a novel observable for probing the underlying particle interaction, especially for those mediated by heavy gauge bosons beyond the standard model of particles. We anticipate that pulsar timing arrays are sensitive to gauge bosons with mass ～10～3-10～4 GeV, while space-and ground-based interferometers to those with mass ～10～7-1012GeV, leading to essential complements to on-going and future experiments of high-energy physics.

Preeclampsia is a pregnancy complication which threatens the survival of mothers and *** originates from abnormal placentation,especially insufficient fusion of the cytotrophoblast cells to form the *** this study,we found that THBS1,a matricellular protein that mediates cell-to-cell and cell-to-matrix interactions,is downregulated during the fusion of primary cytotrophoblast and BeWo cells,but upregulated in the placenta of pregnancies complicated by ***,THBS1 was observed to interact with CD36,a membrane signal receptor and activator of the cAMP signaling pathway,to regulate the fusion of cytotrophoblast *** of THBS1 inhibited the cAMP signaling pathway and reduced the BeWo cells fusion ratio,while the effects of THBS1 were abolished by a CD36-blocking *** results suggest that THBS1 signals through a CD36-mediated cAMP pathway to regulate syncytialization of the cytotrophoblast cells,and that its upregulation impairs placental formation to cause ***,THBS1 can serve as a therapeutic target regarding the mitigation of abnormal syncytialization and preeclampsia.

The utilization of iron coke provides a green pathway for low-carbon *** uncover the influence mechanism of iron ore on the behavior and kinetics of iron coke gasification,the effect of iron ore on the microstructure of iron coke was ***,a comparative study of the gasification reactions between iron coke and coke was conducted through non-isothermal thermogravimetric *** findings indicate that compared to coke,iron coke exhibits an augmentation in micropores and specific surface area,and the micropores further extend and *** provides more adsorption sites for CO_(2) molecules during the gasification process,resulting in a reduction in the initial gasification temperature of iron *** the heating rate in non-isothermal gasification can enhance the reactivity of iron *** metallic iron reduced from iron ore is embedded in the carbon matrix,reducing the orderliness of the carbon structure,which is primarily responsible for the heightened reactivity of the carbon *** kinetic study indicates that the random pore model can effectively represent the gasification process of iron coke due to its rich pore ***,as the proportion of iron ore increases,the activation energy for the carbon gasification gradually decreases,from 246.2 kJ/mol for coke to 192.5 kJ/mol for iron coke 15wt%.

The study of the hydrodynamic limit of the Boltzmann equation with physical boundary is a challenging problem due to the appearance of the viscous and Knudsen boundary *** this paper,the hydrodynamic limit from the Boltzmann equation with the specular reflection boundary condition to the incompressible Euler equations in a channel is *** on the multi-scaled Hilbert expansion,the equations with boundary conditions and compatibility conditions for interior solutions,and viscous and Knudsen boundary layers are derived under different scaling,***,some uniform estimates for the interior solutions,and viscous and Knudsen boundary layers are *** the help of the L2-L∞framework and the uniform estimates obtained above,the solutions to the Boltzmann equation are constructed by the truncated Hilbert expansion with multiscales,and hence the hydrodynamic limit in the incompressible Euler level is justified.

Conversion of CO2back to hydrocarbons is the most direct way of closing the“carbon cycle”,and its significance is further enlarged if this process is driven by renewable energies such as ***,precisely controlling the product selectivity towards hydrocarbons against the competitive hydrogen evolution remains challenging,especially for Cu-based ***,we report a novel defect engineering strategy,by which Cu-doping-induced oxygen vacancies on CeO2nanorods were effectively created,with adjustable vacancy/Cu *** resulting optimum catalyst shows up to 79% catalytic current density to hydrocarbons （excluding CO）,with 49% faradaic efficiency to *** and density functional theory unveil that the ratio between oxygen vacancy and Cu affects significantly the formation of*CHO and activation of H2O,which leads to the following deep hydrogenation to *** findings may spur new insights for designing and developing more controllable chemical process relevant to CO2utilization.
