Metallogenesis of the Baidi Au-Sb deposit, southwest Guizhou Province, China: mineralogical and geochemical evidence from sulfur-bearing minerals

The Baidi Au-Sb deposit, which contains 8 t of Au and 10,979 Mt of Sb, is a typical and rare paragenetic deposit located in southwestern Guizhou Province, *** studies have focused on individual ores, but have not combined them to identify their paragenetic mechanism or metallogenic regularity. Therefore, we used field investigations, microscopic observations, and in situ analyses to identify the spatial distribution, mineral paragenesis, compositional evolution, and metallogenic material sources of the ore bodies. We also determined the Au and Sb paragenetic characteristics and the metallogenesis of the deposit. The main Au-bearing minerals in the deposit were early(Apy1–2) and late(Apy3) stage arsenopyrites, as well as pre-mineralization(Py1), mineralization(Py2–5), and late mineralization(Py6–7) stage pyrites. The main Sb-bearing minerals were stibnite(Snt), skinnerite, bournonite,and valentinite. The minerals formed in the order of Py1,Py2–3 + Apy1, Py4–5 + Apy2, Snt, and Py6–7 + *** δ34S values of the arsenopyrites and pyrites ranged from-5 to 5‰, while those of stibnite were mostly less than-5‰ in the later mineralization stages. Sulfur was provided by deep magmatic hydrothermal fluids, but sedimentary sulfur was added in the later stages. Moreover,the trace elemental contents fluctuated and eventually became similar to those of the sedimentary strata. By comprehensively considering the ores along with the geological characteristics of the deposit, we determined that deep magma provided the Au during ore formation. Later tectonic changes provided Sb from the sedimentary strata,which precipitated along fault expansion areas and produced Au and Sb paragenesis.

Successful liver resection in a giant hemangioma with intestinal obstruction after embolization

Hepatic hemangiomas are the most common benign tumor of the *** hepatic hemangiomas remain asymptomatic and require no *** hepatic hemangiomas with established complications,diagnostic uncertainty and incapacitating symptoms,however,are generally considered an absolute indication for surgical *** present a case of a giant hemangioma with intestinal obstruction following transcatheter arterial embolization,by which the volume of the hemangioma was significantly reduced,and it was completely resected by a left hepatectomy.A 21-yearold Asian man visited our hospital for left upper quadrant *** at the first visit revealed a left liver hemangioma occupying the abdominal cavity,with a maximum diameter of 31.5 *** of the left hepatic artery was performed and confirmed a decrease in its ***,the patient was readmitted to our hospital one month after embolization for intestinal obstruction.A left hepatectomy was completed through a herringbone incision,and safely removed a giant hemangioma of 26.5 cm × 19.5 cm × 12.0 cm in size and 3690 g in ***-operative arterial embolization is effective for reducing tumor size,but a close follow-up to decide the time for hepatectomy is important.

Optimization of cross angle based on the pumping dynamics model

The single cylinder and multi-cylinder pumping dynamics model of a swash plate piston pump were *** attention has been paid to the design influences of key parts of the valve plate such as relief groove,pre-compression/ expansion and fluid inertia effect of the unsteady *** important parameters,such as the discharge area,discharge coefficient,fluid bulk modulus,were especially analyzed using numerical methods or by experiment-based ***,the mathematical results of pressure pulsation and flow ripple agree well with experimental results from the test-rig of the flow ***,the cross angle and the pre-compression angle of the valve plate was optimized,based on the pumping dynamics *** both the flow ripple and the cylinder pressure of the pump,the cross angle is set to be 2.2° to 2.7° with a pre-compression angle of 1.7° to 2.2°,so the pumping dynamics character can obtain the best result.

Microstructure evolution and its influence on thermoplasticity of wide and thick continuous casting slab with heavy reduction

After the heavy reduction(HR)process was carried out at the solidification end of the continuous casting slab,the austenite grains were refined by recrystallization,which improved the thermoplasticity of the ***,the reduction in deformation during the HR process initiated stress concentration at the slab surface,and the crack risk *** effectively evaluate the risk of slab surface cracks under these complex conditions,the effect of the HR on the austenite recrystallization and thermoplasticity of a microalloyed slab surface was investigated by 15-pass reduction thermal simulation according to the wide and thick slab continuous casting *** softening fraction was introduced as a global internal variable to quantitatively analyze various recrystallized re-refined *** the critical strain reaches the critical strain of dynamic recrystallization,a variety of recrystallization modes alternately *** them,the contribution rate of dynamic crystallization to the later refinement reaches more than 50%.The contribution rates of static recrystallization and metadynamic recrystallization to grain refinement are almost the *** thermoplasticity of the slab surface first increases and then decreases with increasing reduction *** was verified by transmission electron microscopy that the main reason for the decrease in thermoplasticity is that the dislocation multiplication rate increases,resulting in a sharp increase in stress and a decrease in thermoplasticity.

Increasing concentrations of dietary threonine,tryptophan,and glycine improve growth performance and intestinal health with decreasing stress responses in broiler chickens raised under multiple stress conditions

The current study aimed to compare the effects of increasing concentrations of dietary threonine(Thr),tryptophan(Trp),and glycine(Gly)on growth performance,stress biomarkers,and intestinal function in broiler chickens under multiple stress *** hundred sixty broiler chickens at 21 d old were randomly allotted to 5 treatments with 8 *** in a positive control(PC)treatment were raised under low stock density(16.9 birds/m^(2) per cage)with recommended environmental conditions,whereas birds in 4 treatments were subjected to multiple stress conditions:a cyclic heat stress of 30±0.3℃ for 10 h and 23±0.2℃ for 14 h per day with high stock density(25.3 birds/m^(2) per cage).A basal diet was assigned to both PC and negative control(NC)*** additional diets were individually formulated to contain double concentrations of digestible Thr,Trp,or Gly+Ser compared with their concentrations in the basal *** experiment lasted for 14 *** showed that NC treatment had less growth performance(P<0.001),jejunal goblet cell counts(P=0.018),and trans-epithelial electrical resistance(TEER;P<0.001),but greater(P=0.026)feather corticosterone(CORT)concentrations than PC *** treatment showed the least(P<0.001)feed conversion ratio(FCR)among treatments under multiple stress ***,Trp,and Gly treatments had less(P=0.026)feather CORT concentrations,but had greater(P<0.001)TEER than NC *** conclusion,increasing concentrations of dietary Thr,Trp,or Gly improve the growth performance and intestinal health in broiler chickens with decreasing stress response under multiple stress conditions.

Anti-anger Effects of Herbal Medicine:A Mini-Review of Rat Studies

Survival benefit of adjuvant treatment for ampullary cancer with lymph nodal involvement:A systematic review and meta-analysis

Background:The efficacy of adjuvant treatment(AT)in ampullary cancer(AmC)remains *** systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the role of AT for *** sources:A comprehensive systematic search was performed in PubMed,EMBASE,Cochrane Library,and Web of Science *** comparing overall survival(OS)and recurrence-free survival(RFS)of patients who underwent AT or not following AmC resection were ***:A total of 3971 patients in 21 studies were *** pooled data showed no significant difference in effect on the OS by AT[hazard ratio(HR)=0.998,95%confidence interval(CI):0.768–1.297].No significant difference in recurrence between the AT and non-AT(nAT)groups was noted(HR=1.158,95%CI:0.764–1.755).In subgroup analysis,patients who received AT showed favorable outcomes in the OS compared with those who received nAT in nodal-positive AmC(HR=0.627,95%CI:0.451–0.870).Neither AT consisted of adjuvant chemotherapy with radiotherapy(HR=0.804,95%CI:0.563–1.149)nor AT with adjuvant chemotherapy(HR=0.883,95%CI:0.642–1.214)showed any significant effect on the ***:The effect of AT in AmC on survival and recurrence did not show a significant ***,effectiveness according to AT strategies did not show enhancement in *** had an advantage in survival compared with nAT strategy in nodal-positive *** cases of AmC with positive lymph nodal involvement,AT may be warranted regardless of detailed strategies.

Clinical Efficacy and Safety of Miniscalpel-Needle Treatment for Tension-Type Headache:A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of miniscalpel-needle(MSN)treatment for tension-type headache(TTH).Method:Seven medical databases were searched to identify randomized controlled trials(RCTs)evaluating the effect and safety of MSN *** articles published up to November 15,2018 were retrieved.A meta-analysis was conducted for the included studies,and the risk of bias was *** outcomes were visual analogue scale(VAS)or numeric rating scale(NRS)*** outcomes were clinical effective rates including total effective rate(TER),markedly effective rate(MER),and totally cured rate(TCR)determined by improvement in clinical symptoms or VAS scores,the frequency of adverse events(AEs)that occurred during the study,and participant quality of life(QOL).Results:Seven RCTs involving 724 participants were *** treatment showed significantly higher MER and TCR[relative risk(RR)1.27,95%confidence interval(Cl)1.01 to 1.61;RR 1.31,95%Cl 1.09 to 1.57,respectively],but not TER(RR 1.03,95%Cl 0.96 to 1.10)compared to *** treatment plus conventional treatment showed significant lower VAS and higher TER,MER,and TCR(mean difference-3.54,95%Cl-3.80 to-3.28;RR 1.14,95%Cl 1.06 to 1.23;RR 2.31,95%Cl 1.50 to 3.58;RR 3.01,95%Cl 2.25 to 4.02,respectively)compared to conventional ***:According to current evidence,MSN treatment as a monotherapy or as an adjunctive treatment to other existing treatments might have benefits on treating ***,since the number and the sample size of studies included were both small and the methodological quality was poor,the findings of this review should be interpreted with great caution,and our confidence in the results is low.A high quality RCT using objective outcomes should be performed on this topic.

Paleosandstorm characteristics and lake evolution history deduced from investigation on lacustrine sediments——The case of Hongjiannao Lake, Shaanxi Province

Sediment cores from desert lakes serve as good records of the frequency and intensity of sandstorms in his- tory. By multi-proxy analysis of grain-size, magnetic suscep- tibility, TOC and Rb/Sr ratio, the paleosandstorm character- istics and lake evolution history in Yulin Area for the past 80 years. are discussed in this article. It is revealed that Hong- jiannao Lake formed in about 1928 A.D. and in its initial stage sandstorms were prevalent with three extremes taking place in 1936 A.D., 1939 A.D. and 1941 A.D.. During the ex- pansion period of 1952―1960 A.D., inflow waters to the lake increased sharply and a lot more weathered materials were carried into the lake. The frequency and intensity of sand- storms have reduced a lot since 1960s and the “double peaks” feature of the grain-size frequency curve has changed into the “single peak” feature. Study on the catchment ecol- ogy of the lake shows that the occurrence of sandstorms has been effectively restrained by the forest plantation and water and soil conservation.
