Membrane gas separation is considered an energy-saving technique to extract He from natural gas due to no phase change and room temperature operation.However,the membrane performance was strongly limited by the trade-off between permeance and selectivity.Herein,novel 4,4′-(hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphthalic anhydride(6FDA)-2,2′-bis(3-amino-4-hydroxyphenyl)hexafluoropropane(APAF)-5-amino-2-(4-aminobenzene)benzimidazole(BIA)asymmetric membranes with a thickness of 300 nm were successfully prepared by the non-solvent induced phase separation method.The membrane performance was modulated by regulating dope solution compositions(e.g.,tetrahydrofuran and polymer concentration).The ideal He/CH_(4) selectivity was 124 and the optimized He permeance reached 87 GPU,beyond the current upper bound.He/CH_(4) selectivity was 75 and He permeance was 73 GPU for the binary mixture feed containing 0.2 mol%He.The membrane showed good resistance to CO_(2) and C_(2)H_(6),which are the typical impurities in natural gas.The 6FDA-APAF-BIA membranes have good stability(>160 h),which can provide great potential in He extraction from natural gas.

The cytochrome P450 proteins(CYP450s)have been implicated in catalyzing numerous important biological reactions and contribute to a variety of diseases.CYP26A1,a member of the CYP450 family,carries out the oxidative metabolism of retinoic acid(RA),the active metabolite of vitamin A.Here we report that CYP26A1 was dramatically upregulated in the spinal cord after spinal nerve ligation(SNL).CYP26A1 was mainly expressed in spinal neurons and astrocytes.HPLC analysis displayed that the content of all-trans-RA(at-RA),the substrate of CYP26A1,was reduced in the spinal cord on day 7 after SNL.Inhibition of CYP26A1 by siRNA or inhibition of CYP26A1-mediated at-RA catabolism by talarozole relieved the SNL-induced mechanical allodynia during the maintenance phase of neuropathic pain.Talarozole also reduced SNL-induced glial activation and proinflammatory cytokine production but increased anti-inflammatory cytokine(IL-10)production.The RA receptors RARα,RXRβ,and RXRγwere expressed in spinal neurons and glial cells.The promoter of Il-10 has several binding sites for RA receptors,and at-RA directly increased Il-10 mRNA expression in vitro.Finally,intrathecal IL-10 attenuated SNL-induced neuropathic pain and reduced the activation of astrocytes and microglia.Collectively,the inhibition of CYP26A1-mediated at-RA catabolism alleviates SNL-induced neuropathic pain by promoting the expression of IL-10 and suppressing glial activation.CYP26A1 may be a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of neuropathic pain.

Accurate self-motion perception,which is critical for organisms to survive,is a process involving multiple sensory cues.The two most powerful cues are visual(optic flow)and vestibular(inertial motion).Psychophysical studies have indicated that humans and nonhuman primates integrate the two cues to improve the estimation of self-motion direction,often in a statistically Bayesian-optimal way.In the last decade,single-unit recordings in awake,behaving animals have provided valuable neurophysiological data with a high spatial and temporal resolution,giving insight into possible neural mechanisms underlying multisensory self-motion perception.Here,we review these findings,along with new evidence from the most recent studies focusing on the temporal dynamics of signals in different modalities.We show that,in light of new data,conventional thoughts about the cortical mechanisms underlying visuo-vestibular integration for linear self-motion are challenged.We propose that different temporal component signals may mediate different functions,a possibility that requires future studies.

Clean and efﬁcient recycling of spent lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)has become an urgent need to promote sustainable and rapid development of human society.Therefore,we provide a critical and comprehensive overview of the various technologies for recycling spent LIBs,starting with lithium-ion power batteries.Recent research on raw material collection,metallurgical recovery,separation and puriﬁcation is highlighted,particularly in terms of all aspects of economic efﬁciency,energy consumption,technology transformation and policy management.Mechanisms and pathways for transformative full-component recovery of spent LIBs are explored,revealing a clean and efﬁcient closed-loop recovery mechanism.Optimization methods are proposed for future recycling technologies,with a focus on how future research directions can be industrialized.Ultimately,based on life-cycle assessment,the challenges of future recycling are revealed from the LIBs supply chain and stability of the supply chain of the new energy battery industry to provide an outlook on clean and efﬁcient short process recycling technologies.This work is designed to support the sustainable development of the new energy power industry,to help meet the needs of global decarbonization strategies and to respond to the major needs of industrialized recycling.

A possible quasi-periodic oscillation（QPO） at frequency 7.045 × 10-5Hz is found in the narrow-line Seyfert 1galaxy Mrk 142 in the data of XMM-Newton collected on 2020 April 11. We find that the QPO signal is statistically significantly larger than the 5σ level and highly coherent with quality factor Q > 5 at the 0.3–10 keV band by using the method of the Lomb–Scargle Periodogram, the Weighted Wavelet Z-transform and the REDFIT.We analyze the data in 0.3–0.6 keV, 0.6–1 keV, 1–3 keV and 3–10 keV energy bands, and find obvious QPO signals at 0.3–0.6 keV and 1–3 keV bands. We then analyze the time-average spectra and time variability at the QPO frequency of 7.045 × 10-5Hz, and use a model to fit them. We find that the QPO signal mainly comes from the X-ray hot corona.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of Neferine(Nef)on diabetic nephropathy(DN)and to explore the mechanism of Nef in DN based on miRNA regulation theory.METHODS:A DN mouse model was constructed and treated with Nef.Serum creatinine(Crea),blood urea(UREA)and urinary albumin were measured in mice by kits,and renal histopathological changes and fibrosis were observed by hematoxylin-eosin staining and Masson staining.Renal tissue superoxide dismutase(SOD),malondialdehyde(MDA)and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)activities were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Western blotting was used to detect the expression of nuclear factor E2-related factor 2(Nrf2)/heme oxygenase 1(HO-1)signaling pathway-related proteins in kidney tissues.Quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(q RT-PCR)was used to detect the expression of miR-17-5p in kidney tissues.Subsequently,a DN in vitro model was constructed by high glucose culture of human mesangial cells(HMCs),cells were transfected with miR-17-5p mimic and/or treated with Nef,and we used q RTPCR to detect cellular miR-17 expression,flow cytometry to detect apoptosis,ELISAs to detect cellular SOD,MDA,and GSH-Px activities,Western blots to detect Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway-related protein expression,and dual luciferase reporter gene assays to verify the targeting relationship between Nrf2 and miR-17-5p.RESULTS:Administration of Nef significantly reduced the levels of blood glucose,Crea,and UREA and the expression of miR-17-5p,improved renal histopathology and fibrosis,significantly reduced MDA levels,elevated SOD and GSH-Px activities,and activated Nrf2 expression in kidney tissues from mice with DN.Nrf2 is a post-transcriptional target of miR-17-5p.In HMCs transfected with miR-17-5p mimics,the m RNA and protein levels of Nrf2 were significantly suppressed.Furthermore,miR-17-5p overexpression and Nef intervention resulted in a significant increase in high glucose-induced apoptosis and MDA levels in HMCs and a significant decrease in the protein expr

Background: Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is characterized by excessive proliferation of small pulmonary arterial vascular smooth muscle cells (PASMCs), endothelial dysfunction, and extracellular matrix remodeling. G protein-coupled receptor kinase 2 (GRK2) plays an important role in the maintenance of vascular tone and blood flow. However, the role of GRK2 in the pathogenesis of PAH is unknown.Methods: GRK2 levels were detected in lung tissues from healthy people and PAH patients. C57BL/6 mice, vascular smooth muscle cell-specificGrk2-knockout mice (Grk2?SM22), and littermate controls (Grk2flox/flox) were grouped into control and hypoxia mice (n = 8). Pulmonary hypertension (PH) was induced by exposure to chronic hypoxia (10%) combined with injection of the SU5416 (cHx/SU). The expression levels of GRK2 and Yes-associated protein (YAP) in pulmonary arteries and PASMCs were detected by Western blotting and immunofluorescence staining. The mRNA expression levels ofGrk2 and Yes-associated protein (YAP) in PASMCs were quantified with real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Wound-healing assay, 3-(4,5)-dimethylthiahiazo (-z-y1)-3,5-di-phenytetrazoliumromide (MTT) assay, and 5-Ethynyl-2′-deoxyuridine (EdU) staining were performed to evaluate the proliferation and migration of PASMCs. Meanwhile, the interaction among proteins was detected by immunoprecipitation assays.Results: The expression levels of GRK2 were upregulated in the pulmonary arteries of patients with PAH and the lungs of PH mice. Moreover, cHx/SU-induced PH was attenuated inGrk2?SM22 mice compared with littermate controls. The amelioration of PH inGrk2?SM22 mice was accompanied by reduced pulmonary vascular remodeling.In vitro study further confirmed thatGRK2 knock-down significantly altered hypoxia-induced PASMCs proliferation and migration, whereas this effect was severely intensified by overexpression ofGRK2. BACKGROUND Cholangiocarcinoma(CCA)is a highly malignant biliary tract cancer with poor prognosis.Previous studies have implicated the gut microbiota in CCA,but evidence for causal mechanisms is lacking.AIM To investigate the causal relationship between gut microbiota and CCA risk.METHODS We performed a two-sample mendelian randomization study to evaluate potential causal associations between gut microbiota and CCA risk using genome-wide association study summary statistics for 196 gut microbial taxa and CCA.Genetic variants were used as instrumental variables.Multiple sensitivity analyses assessed result robustness.RESULTS Fifteen gut microbial taxa showed significant causal associations with CCA risk.Higher genetically predicted abundance of genus Eubacteriumnodatum group,genus Ruminococcustorques group,genus Coprococcus,genus Dorea,and phylum Actinobacteria were associated with reduced risk of gallbladder cancer and extrahepatic CCA.Increased intrahepatic CCA risk was associated with higher abundance of family Veillonellaceae,genus Alistipes,order Enterobacteriales,and phylum Firmicutes.Protective effects against CCA were suggested for genus Collinsella,genus Eisenbergiella,genus Anaerostipes,genus Paraprevotella,genus Parasutterella,and phylum Verrucomicrobia.Sensitivity analyses indicated these findings were reliable without pleiotropy.CONCLUSION This pioneering study provides novel evidence that specific gut microbiota may play causal roles in CCA risk.Further experimental validation of these candidate microbes is warranted to consolidate causality and mechanisms.

Picking velocities from semblances manually is laborious and necessitates experience. Although various methods for automatic velocity picking have been developed, there remains a challenge in efficiently incorporating information from nearby gathers to ensure picked velocity aligns with seismic horizons while also improving picking accuracy. The conventional method of velocity picking from a semblance volume is computationally demanding, highlighting a need for a more efficient strategy. In this study, we introduce a novel method for automatic velocity picking based on multi-object tracking. This dynamic tracking process across different semblance panels can integrate information from nearby gathers effectively while maintaining computational efficiency. First, we employ accelerated density clustering on the velocity spectrum to discern cluster centers without the requirement for prior knowledge regarding the number of clusters. These cluster centers embody the maximum likelihood velocities of the main subsurface structures. Second, our proposed method tracks key points within the semblance volume. Kalman filter is adopted to adjust the tracking process, followed by interpolation on these tracked points to construct the final velocity model. Our synthetic data example demonstrates that our proposed algorithm can effectively rectify the picking errors of the clustering algorithm. We further compare the performances of the clustering method(CM), the proposed tracking method(TM), and the variational method(VM) on a field dataset from the gulf of Mexico. The results attest that our method offers superior accuracy than CM, achieves comparable accuracy with VM, and benefits from a reduced computational cost.
