Photoactive complexes of nonprecious transition metals, mainly including those in the first-row and partially the second-row of the Periodic table of elements, have received increasing attention in view of their low cost and long-term sustainability. They are recognized as promising alternatives to noble transition metal complex congeners that have been extensively studied in optoelectronic devices, artificial photosynthesis, photocatalysis, biodiagnostics, and therapeutics, etc. This review is devoted to a comprehensive summary on the classical and recent advances on photoactive nonprecious transition metal complexes, including photoactive Zr, V, Cr, Mo, and W complexes, Mn complexes and hybrids, Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu complexes, and Zn and Cd complexes and hybrids. A particular focus is given on the molecular design, modulation of photophysical and photochemical properties, and applications of the representative and lately-developed nonprecious metal complexes. In addition, a perspective on the future development in this field is provided at the end of this review.

Two crosslinkable poly（p-phenyleneethynylene）s（PPEs）： poly[2,5-di（2＇-ethyl-hexyloxy）-1,4-phenylenecthynylene] with end-capped vinyl（PPE1） and poly[2,5-di（allyloxy）-1,4-phenyleneethynylene-2,5-di（2＇-ethyl-hexyloxy）-1,4-phenyleneethynylene]（PPE2） were synthesized. Via the thermal addition reactions of vinyl end groups of PPE1 and allyloxy side groups of PPE2, crosslinked polymers C-PPE1 and C-PPE2 were obtained, respectively. The two polymers were characterized by wide-angle X-ray diffraction（WXRD）, ultraviolet-visible（UV-Vis） absorption, and photoluminescence（PL）. The results indicate that in the solid state, the polymer chains of PPE1 were packed with a low degree of crystallinity because of the sterically hindered（2＇-ethyl-hexyl）oxy branched side chains, but, because of the introduction of allyloxy side chains, the polymer chains of PPE2 were packed in an order fashion with a high degree of crystallinity. Because of the high crosslinking density in C-PPE2, the formation of aggregates and excimer was hampered by the formed crosslinking network more effectively in C-PPE2 film than in C-PPE1 film.

In the modern wireless communication system,the manipulation for polarization of electromagnetic wave plays a important role in improving the capacity and reliability of *** this paper,a multifunctional polarization converter(MFPC)based on the multilayer reconfigurable metasurface is proposed,which can assist the source antenna to transmit and receive multiple polarization *** MFPC consists of a grating which can filter out the undesired polarization and four layers of metasurfaces incorporated with PIN *** functions of the MFPC include LTC and LTL polarization conversions,co-polarization transmission and reflection for arbitrary *** changing the states of PIN diodes,the functions of MFPC can be dynamically *** on the aperture of source antenna,the proposed MFPC can serve as a transmissive array with multiple polarization channels,and can also provide EM protection for source antenna by reflecting the incoming interference *** of the metasurfaces produces Fabry-Perot resonance in the MFPC,and it contributes to the realization of LTC and LTL polarization *** verify the performance of the proposed MFPC,the prototype is fabricated and *** measured results show that the fractional bandwidths of four functions are all higher than 31.9% with transmission or reflection coefficients higher than-2 d *** frequency band of each function is mainly concentrated in *** measured data are in agreement with the simulated results.

The"three shells"cooperative support technology was proposed herein according to both the large deformation of the rock surrounding large-section chambers in deep mines and the precarious stability of the support structures *** development range of the plastic zone in the surrounding rock was controlled by a stress shell to reduce the difficulty of controlling the surrounding ***,the residual strength of the rock mass in the plastic zone and the self-bearing capacity of the surrounding rock were improved by a reinforced load-bearing ***,a passive load-bearing shell could restore the triaxial stress state of the surrounding rock on the free surface,reduce the influence of the external environment on the surrounding rock,and reinforce the surrounding rock with the strength of the *** layouts of large-section chambers were determined by analyzing the control effect of the stress shell on the surrounding rock under three kinds of in situ stress *** orthogonal test method was applied to reveal the influences of different support parameters in the reinforced loadbearing shell and passive load-bearing shell on the surrounding rock *** surrounding rock control effect of the"three shells"collaborative support technology was analyzed through numerical simulation and field *** results show that the maximum displacement between the roof and floor of the coal preparation chamber in the Xinjulong coal mine was approximately 48 mm,and the maximum displacement between its two sides was approximately 65 mm,indicating that the technology proposed herein could meet the long-term control requirements of the surrounding rock stability for large-section chambers in deep mines.

In this study,we prepared Ti/IrO2–ZrO2 electrodes with different ZrO2 contents using zirconium-n-butoxide(C16H36O4Zr)and chloroiridic acid(H2IrCl6)via a sol–gel *** explore the effect of ZrO2 content on the surface properties and electrochemical behavior of electrodes,we performed physical characterizations and electrochemical *** obtained results revealed that the binary oxide coating was composed of rutile IrO2,amorphous ZrO2,and an IrO2–ZrO2 solid *** IrO2–ZrO2 binary oxide coatings exhibited cracked structures with flat regions.A slight incorporation of ZrO2 promoted the crystallization of the active component ***,the crystallization of IrO2 was hindered when the added ZrO2 content was greater than 30at%.The appropriate incorporation of ZrO2 enhanced the electrocatalytic performance of the pure IrO2 *** Ti/70at%IrO2–30at%ZrO2 electrode,with its large active surface area,improved electrocatalytic activity,long service lifetime,and especially,lower cost,is the most effective for promoting oxygen evolution in sulfuric acid solution.

Climate change could intensify extreme weather events,such as flooding,which amplifies the public health threat of waterborne ***,assessing health vulnerability and adaptation(V&A)could facilitate nationally effective responses to extreme climate ***,related studies are still negligible,and the assessment urgently needs to be validated with actual health data after extreme weather *** established health V&A indices through literature review and factor ***,we separately mapped the spatial distribution of flood exposure,social and public health sensitivity,and adaptive capacity before the 2016 flood in Anhui province and compared it with post-flood diarrhea risks by using the geographic information system method to assess health ***,we validated the indices by exploring the relationship between health V&A indices and post-flood diarrhea risks by using the quantile regression *** revealed that health V&A can be framed and categorized as key components of exposure,sensitivity,and adaptive *** remarkable differences in the spatial distribution of health vulnerability were generally consistent with the demographic sensitivity,geographic flooding exposure,and post-flood diarrhea risks in *** addition,health V&A indices exerted significant positive impacts on infectious diarrhea post-flooding at all quantiles and were significant across different ***,the impacts of flood exposure on total infectious diarrhea were high and continuous,whereas the impacts of sensitivity were not obvious in the flood's early stage(Coeff=0.643;p<0.001)but high in the flood's middle(Coeff=0.997;p<0.001)and late stages(Coeff=0.975;p<0.001).However,the impacts of adaptive capacity were heterogeneous and high in the flood's early stage(Coeff=0.665;p<0.001 at the 25th percentile)and late stage(Coeff=1.296;p<0.001 at the 75th percentile)but were insignificant at the 50th *** study contributed va

The mushroom body(MB),a bilateral brain structure pos-sessing about 2000-2500 neurons per hemisphere,plays a central role in olfactory learning and memory in Dros-ophila *** studies have demonstrat-ed that three major types of MB neurons(α/β,α’/β’andγ)exhibit distinct functions in memory processing,including the critical role of approximately 1000 MBα/βneurons in retrieving long-term *** by recent fi ndings that MBα/βneurons can be further divided into three subdivisions(surface,posterior and core)and wherein theα/βcore neurons play an permissive role in long-term memory consolidation,we examined the functional differ-ences of all the three morphological subdivisions of MBα/βby temporally precise manipulation of their synaptic outputs during long-term memory *** found the normal neurotransmission from a combination of MBα/βsurface and posterior neurons is necessary for retrieving both aversive and appetitive long-term memory,whereas output from MBα/βposterior or core subdivision alone is *** results imply a specifi c requirement of about 500 MBα/βneurons in supporting long-term memory retrieval and a further functional partitioning for memory processing within the MBα/βregion.

The pressure nitric acid leaching of alkali-pre- treated low-grade limonitic laterite, as well as removing impurity AI（III） and preparing intermediate product of nickel/cobalt sulphide from leaching liquor were investi- gated. After pretreatment, iron exists in the form of amorphous iron oxides, while nickel is adsorbed on the surface of iron oxides in the form of nickel oxide. The preferable pressure leaching conditions are determined as follows： leaching temperature of 458 K, leaching duration of 60 min, initial acidity of nitric acid of 1.90 mol.L-~ and liquid to solid ratio of 3：1 （volume to mass ratio）. Under these conditions, the leaching efficiencies of Ni, Co and A1 are 95 %, 88 % and 55 %, respectively, and that of Fe is less than 1%. The loss rates of Ni and Co are 1.8 % and 1.5 %, respectively, during the step of removing impurity AI（III）. The sulphide precipitation process produces the interim production of nickel/cobalt sulphides, recovering greater than 99 % of Ni and Co in the purified solution. The iron-rich （〉60 %） pressure leaching residue with low Cr, S can be further reclaimed as the raw materials for iron making.

A universal multifunctional dual cation doping strategy towards stabilized ultra-high nickel cobalt-free lithium layered oxide cathode

Ultra-high nickel cobalt-free lithium layered oxides are promising cathode material for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)because of their relatively high capacity and low ***,the high nickel content would induce bulk structure degradation and interfacial environment deterioration,and the absence of Co element reduces the lithium diffusion kinetics,severely limiting the performance liberation of this kind of ***,a multifunctional Ti/Zr dual cation co-doping strategy has been employed to improve the lithium storage performance of LiNi_(0.9)Mn_(0.1)O_(2)(NM91)*** the one hand,the Ti/Zr co-doping weakens the Li^(+)/Ni^(2+)mixing through magnetic interactions due to the inexistence of unpaired electrons for Ti^(4+)and Zr^(4+),increasing the lithium diffusion rate and suppressing the harmful coexistence of H1 and H2 *** the other hand,they enhance the lattice oxygen stability because of the strong Ti-O and Zr-O bonds,inhibiting the undesired H3 phase transition and lattice oxygen loss,improving the bulk structure and cathode-electrolyte interface *** a result,the Ti/Zr co-doped NM91(NMTZ)exhibits a 91.2%capacity retention rate after 100 cycles,while that of NM91 is only82.9%.Also,the NMTZ displays better rate performance than NM91 with output capacities of 115 and93 mA h g^(-1)at a high current density of 5 C,***,the designed NMTZ could enable the full battery to deliver an energy density up to 263 W h kg^(-1),making the ultra-high nickel cobaltfree lithium layered oxide cathode closer to practical applications.
