X-ray detectors show potential applications in medical imaging,materials science,and nuclear *** achieve high detection efficiency and spatial resolution,many conventional semiconductor materials,such as amorphous selenium,cadmium telluride zinc,and perovskites,have been utilized in direct conversion X-ray ***,these semiconductor materials are susceptible to temperature-induced performance degradation,crystallization,delamination,uneven lattice growth,radiation damage,and high dark *** study explores a new approach by coupling an FC40 electronic fluorinated liquid with a specialized high-resolution and high-readout-speed complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor(CMOS)pixel array,specifically the Topmetal II−chip,to fabricate a direct conversion X-ray *** fluorinated liquid FC40(molecular formula:C_(21)F_(48)N_(2))is an electronic medium that is minimally affected by temperature and displays no issues with uniform *** exhibits a low dark current and minimal radiation damage and enables customizable thickness in X-ray *** addresses the limitations inherent in conventional semiconductor-based *** this study,simple X-ray detector imaging tests were conducted,demonstrating the excellent coupling capability between FC40 electronic fluorinated liquid and CMOS chips by the X-ray detector.A spatial resolution of 4.0 lp/mm was measured using a striped line par card,and a relatively clear image of a cockroach was displayed in the digital radiography imaging *** test results indicated the feasibility of fabricating an X-ray detector by combining FC40 electronic fluorinated liquid and CMOS *** to the absence of issues related to chip-material coupling,a high spatial resolution could be achieved by reducing the chip pixel *** method presents a new avenue for studies on novel liquid-based direct conversion X-ray detectors.

Corrosion poses a major threat to the safety of transportation ***,it is crucial to have an in-depth understanding of corrosion mechanisms in pipeline steels for the effective management of pipeline *** research on corrosion mechanisms relies on the use of efficient and reliable corrosion monitoring and analysis *** advancements in corrosion monitoring techniques specifically designed for the localized corrosion monitoring were aimed to be introduced,and a comprehensive overview of recent progress in understanding the localized corrosion mechanisms in pipeline steels was *** on the different corrosive environments encountered,the localized corrosion issues inside pipelines are classified into two categories:localized corrosion primarily influenced by electrochemical processes and localized corrosion controlled by both electrochemical and mechanical ***,a thorough analysis of the synergistic effects between micro-cell and macro-cell currents,as well as the interplay of mechanics and electrochemistry is ***,recommendations for future research on the mechanisms of internal localized corrosion in pipelines are provided.

In this study, we present an innovative Mars Ionosphere-Thermosphere Model（MITM）, which is a time-dependent, threedimensional（3-D） model that comprehensively represents the self-consistently coupled thermosphere and ionosphere of Mars within the altitude range of 70-300 km. The model incorporates an extensive range of parameters, including neutral number densities of CO2, CO,O, O2, N2, NO, N（2D）, N（4S）, Ar, and He; ion number densities of CO2+, CO+, O+, O2+, N2+, NO+, N+ions, and electrons; neutral temperature;and neutral wind fields. The MITM code employs a high-resolution grid system in a spherical geographical coordinate system, with a horizontal resolution of 5° latitude by 7.5° longitude. This altitude-resolved grid system enables accurate depiction of spatial variations in the Martian thermosphere and ionosphere. To showcase the capabilities of the MITM, we present two simulation cases: one during the equinox and another during the solstice. Both simulations reproduce key features of the Martian thermosphere and ionosphere including the characteristics of horizontal circulation, diurnal variations in chemical composition, and distribution of electron density. The MITM offers a robust framework for understanding the intricate interactions and processes that shape the Mars thermosphere and ionosphere,which are crucial for enhancing our understanding of Martian upper atmosphere and ionosphere.

Invasive inflammation and excessive scar formation are the main reasons for the difficulty in repairing nervous tissue after spinal cord *** and astrocytes play key roles in the spinal cord injury micro-environment and share a close ***,the mechanisms involved remain *** this study,we found that after spinal cord injury,resting microglia(M0)were polarized into pro-inflammatory phenotypes(MG1 and MG3),while resting astrocytes were polarized into reactive and scar-forming *** expression of growth arrest-specific 6(Gas6)and its receptor Axl were significantly down-regulated in microglia and astrocytes after spinal cord *** vitro experiments showed that Gas6 had negative effects on the polarization of reactive astrocytes and pro-inflammatory microglia,and even inhibited the cross-regulation between *** further demonstrated that Gas6 can inhibit the polarization of reactive astrocytes by suppressing the activation of the Yes-associated protein signaling ***,in turn,inhibited the polarization of pro-inflammatory microglia by suppressing the activation of the nuclear factor-κB/p65 and Janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription signaling *** vivo experiments showed that Gas6 inhibited the polarization of pro-inflammatory microglia and reactive astrocytes in the injured spinal cord,thereby promoting tissue repair and motor function ***,Gas6 may play a role in the treatment of spinal cord *** can inhibit the inflammatory pathway of microglia and polarization of astrocytes,attenuate the interaction between microglia and astrocytes in the inflammatory microenvironment,and thereby alleviate local inflammation and reduce scar formation in the spinal cord.

The manipulation of single atom within the metallic kernel of nanoclusters has attracted considerable attention due to its potentials to elucidate kernel-based structure-property relationships at the single-atom ***,new-designed chiral bialkynyl ligands,have been chosen as protective agents to isolate two pairs of 8-electron superatomic silver nanoclusters,R/S-Ag39 and R/S-Ag40.X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that Ag39 and Ag40 with the same number of chiral ligands,possess a closely analogous silver skeleton but a single-atomic *** incorporation of an extra Ag40th atom into Ag40 evokes two significant changes of structure and property compared to Ag39:(i)a reduction in the symmetry of the entire nanocluster,resulting in an enhancement of kernel-related asymmetry g-factor;(ii)a regulation of the transitions(1P→1D and Ligand(π)→1D)of excited state,leading to a second near-infrared(NIR-II,1000-1700 nm)phosphorescent emission red-shift from 1088 to 1150 *** work not only provides vital insights into the relationship between structures and ground/excited states chiroptical activities at the single-atom level,but also presents bialkynyl as a promising stabilizing agent for building superatomic metal nanoclusters.

Background:Immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)are effective in a subset of patients with metastatic solid ***,the patients who would benefit most from ICIs in biliary tract cancer(BTC)are still *** and methods:We molecularly characterized tissues and blood from 32 patients with metastatic BTC treated with the ICI pembrolizumab as second-line ***:All patients had microsatellite stable(MSS)type *** of the 32 patients achieved partial response(PR),with an objective response rate(ORR)of 9.4%(95%confidence interval[CI],2.0–25.2)and nine showed stable disease(SD),exhibiting a disease control rate(DCR)of 37.5%(95%CI,21.1–56.3).For the 31 patients who had access to PD-1 ligand 1(PD-L1)combined positive score(CPS)testing(cut-off value≥1%),the ORR was not different between those who had PD-L1-positive(PD-L1+;1/11,9.1%)and PDL1-(2/20,10.0%)tumors(p=1.000).The tumor mutational burden(TMB)of PD-L1+BTC was comparable to that of PD-L1-BTC(p=0.630).TMB and any exonic somatic mutations were also not predictive of pembrolizumab *** analysis of blood and tumor samples demonstrated a relatively high natural killer(NK)cell proportion in the peripheral blood before pembrolizumab treatment in patients who achieved tumor ***,the tumors of these patients presented high enrichment scores for NK cells,antitumor cytokines,and Th1 signatures,and a low enrichment score for cancer-associated ***:This study shows the molecular characteristics associated with the efficacy of pembrolizumab in BTC of the MSS type.

All-season thermal management with zero energy consumption and emissions is more crucial to global decarbonization over traditional energy-intensive cooling/heating ***,the static single thermal management for cooling or heating fails to self-regulate the temperature in dynamic seasonal temperature ***,inspired by the dual-temperature regulation function of the fur color changes on the backs and abdomens of penguins,a smart thermal management composite hydrogel(PNA@H-PM Gel) system was subtly created though an "on-demand" dual-layer structure design *** PNA@H-PM Gel system features synchronous solar and thermal radiation modulation as well as tunable phase transition temperatures to meet the variable seasonal thermal requirements and energy-saving demands via self-adaptive radiative cooling and solar heating ***,this system demonstrates superb modulations of both the solar reflectance(ΔR=0.74) and thermal emissivity(ΔE=0.52) in response to ambient temperature changes,highlighting efficient temperature regulation with average radiative cooling and solar heating effects of 9.6℃ in summer and 6.1℃ in winter,***,compared to standard building baselines,the PNA@H-PM Gel presents a more substantial energy-saving cooling/heating potentials for energy-efficient buildings across various regions and *** novel solution,inspired by penguins in the real world,will offer a fresh approach for producing intelligent,energy-saving thermal management materials,and serve for temperature regulation under dynamic climate conditions and even throughout all seasons.

Effects of Building Blocks and Defects on the Performance of Two-Dimensional Photonic Crystal Sensors for Black Liquor Detection

In this study, to achieve convenient and sensitive detection of the concentration of the black liquor solution, we constructed two-dimensional photonic crystal sensors with a periodic arrangement of elliptical and circular pores in a hexagonal *** photonic bandgap in transverse magnetic（TM） mode was analyzed using the plane wave expansion method. This was followed by simulations to obtain absorption spectra at different concentrations of black liquor, with subsequent processing and computation. The simulation results revealed a linear correlation between the concentration of black liquor and the position of the trough in the absorption spectrum under consistent temperature conditions. Notably, as the concentration of black liquor solution increased, the position of absorption spectra trough shifted towards the low-frequency region. Through parameters optimization, we achieved a relationship equation with a linear fitting coefficient R2of 1.000. The sensitivity of the two-dimensional photonic crystal sensor composed of circular scatters with line defects in the hexagonal lattice can be as high as 508.3 nm/RIU when the mass fraction of black liquor solution ranges from 10 to 20%. These results provide an essential theoretical basis for applying photonic crystal sensors to detect black liquor concentrations. This study holds promise for the design and fabrication of high-performance photonic crystal sensors for practical applications.

A critical challenge hindering the practical application of lithium–oxygen batteries(LOBs)is the inevitable problems associated with liquid electrolytes,such as evaporation and safety *** study addresses these problems by proposing a modified polyrotaxane(mPR)-based solid polymer electrolyte(SPE)design that simultaneously mitigates solvent-related problems and improves ***-SPE exhibits high ion conductivity(2.8×10^(−3)S cm^(−1)at 25℃)through aligned ion conduction pathways and provides electrode protection ability through hydrophobic chain *** this mPR-SPE into solid-state LOBs resulted in stable potentials over 300 *** situ Raman spectroscopy reveals the presence of an LiO_(2)intermediate alongside Li_(2)O_(2)during oxygen *** situ X-ray diffraction confirm the ability of the SPE to hinder the permeation of oxygen and moisture,as demonstrated by the air permeability *** present study suggests that maintaining a low residual solvent while achieving high ionic conductivity is crucial for restricting the sub-reactions of solid-state LOBs.
