The flow characteristics and inclusion removal in a ten-strand continuous casting tundish were investigated with physical modelling and industrial trials. The results show that, among the strands, the strand with the mini mum dimensionless time of the first appearance of tracer at the tundish exit appears to be the worst one for inclusion removal, while the strand with the maximum dimensionless mean residence time shows the best inclusion removal efficiency. The inclusion number decreases with increasing inclusion size for all strands. The inclusion number distri bution among strands is the same for all inclusion sizes and the descending order of inclusion number is basically con sistent with the ascending order of dimensionless mean residence time among individual strands. However, when the strand with the minimum dimensionless time of the first appearance of tracer at the tundish exit is not the same one with the minimum dimensionless mean residence time, the former seems to be inferior to the latter for inclusion re moval.

Tetragonal ZrO2-3 mol% Y2O3 （3Y-TZP） coated with CePO4 was synthesized by a co-precipitation method and the effects of CePO4 content and sintering temperature on its mechanical properties were investigated. The microstructure and phase composition of the products were characterized using scanning and transmission electron microscopy as well as X-ray diffraction, respectively. The machinability index of CePO4-coated zirconia was calculated to be 1.05 when the CePO4 content is 25 wt.%. The sample hardness, bending strength and fracture toughness are 7.08 GPa, 457.85 MPa and 9.75 MPa m1/2, respectively, when the sintering temperature is 1400°C. The results show that as-prepared CePO4-coated 3Y-TZP ceramics are highly suitable biomaterials for dental applications and are expected to be used in a com-puter-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing （CAD/CAM） system to make dental crowns or bridge prostheses in a one-step sinter-ing process.

Background:Endoscopic ultrasound-guided ethanol ablation(EUS-EA)for pancreatic cystic lesions(PCLs)has been used in recent years as a feasible treatment modality for low malignant probability PCLs or patients considered high-risk for *** present study aimed to confirm the safety of EUS-EA and to find predictive factors for adverse event(AE).Methods:A retrospective review was performed from the prospectively maintained database of patients who underwent EUS-EA for PCLs from June 2006 to April 2018 at Seoul National University *** primary outcomes of the study were the rates of AEs and severe AEs by *** secondary outcome was the predictive factors of AEs including acute pancreatitis and abdominal ***:A total of 214 patients were evaluated and the diagnoses of PCLs according to cystic fluid analysis and clinical features were as follows:serous cystic neoplasm(32.2%),mucinous cystic neoplasm(26.6%),branch duct type intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm(BD-IPMN)(29.4%),and pseudocyst(11.7%).Three patients(1.4%)experienced severe ***,AEs occurred in 71(33.2%)***-IPMN(OR:2.87;95%CI:1.05–7.84;P=0.040),multilocular cysts(OR:3.59;95%CI:1.09–11.85;P=0.036),suspected ethanol leakage during procedure(OR:10.68;95%CI:1.98–57.53;P=0.006),and sticky cystic fluid(OR:3.83;95%CI:1.20–12.24;P=0.024)were predictive factors for post-procedural acute *** of uncinate process(OR:2.99;95%CI:1.22–7.35;P=0.017)and PCLs with exophytic portion(OR:3.70;95%CI:1.96–7.01;P<0.001)were predictive factors for post-procedural abdominal ***:EUS-EA is a safe procedure with a very low rate of severe *** seems possible to predict the AEs according to the features of the procedure and PCLs.

The perfluorosulfonic acid(PFSA) membrane doped with two-dimensional conductive filler Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) is a fuel cell proton exchange membrane with high application potential. Experimental studies showed that the proton conductivity of Nafion/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) composite membrane is improved significantly compared with that in pure Nafion. However, the microscopic mechanism of doping on the enhancement of membrane performance is remain unclear now. In this work, molecular dynamics simulation was used to investigate the microscopic morphology and proton transport behaviors of Nafion/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) composite membrane at the molecular level. The results shown that there were significant differences about the diffusion kinetics of water molecules and hydroxium ions in Nafion/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) at low and high hydration levels in the nanoscale *** the increase of water content, Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) in membrane was gradually surrounded by ambient water molecules to form a hydration layer, and forming a relatively continuous proton transport channel between Nafion polymer and Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) monomer. The continuous proton transport channel could increase the number of binding sites of proton and thus achieving high proton conductivity and high mobility of water molecules at higher hydration level. The current work can provide a theoretical guidance for designing new type of Nafion composite membranes.

Three-dimensional finite element model of electromagnetic stirrer was built to predict magnetic field in a bloom continuous casting mold for steel during operation. The effects of current intensity, current frequency, and mold copper plate thickness on the magnetic field distribution in the mold were investigated. The results show that the magnetic induction intensity increases linearly with the increase in current intensity and decreases with the increase in current frequency. Increasing current intensity and frequency is available in increasing the electromagnetic force. The Joule heat decreases gradually from surface to center of bloom, and a maximum Joule heat can be found on corner of bloom. The prediction of magnetic induction intensity is in good agreement with the measured values.

Global warming has become an increasing concern, and using soil as a carbon sink to sequester carbon dioxide has attracted much attention in recent years. In this study, soil organic carbon (SOC) content and organic carbon density were estimated based on a soil survey of a small landscape in Dongguan, South China, with spatial heterogeneity of SOC distribution and the impacts of land-use patterns on soil organic carbon content assessed. Field sampling was carried out based on a 150 m×150 m grid system overlaid on the topographic map of the study area and samples were collected in three 20-cm layers to a depth of 60 cm. Spatial variability in the distribution of SOC was assessed using the Kruskal-Wallis test. Results showed that SOC in the topsoil layer (0-20 cm) was not much higher or even lower in some sites than the underlying layers, and except for the two sites covered with natural woodland, it did not exhibit a pronounced vertical gradient. The difference in both horizontal and vertical distribution of SOC was not statistically significant. However, in the topsoil layer among land-use/land-cover patterns, significant differences (P≤0.05) in SOC distribution existed, indicating that management practices had great impact on SOC content. SOC storage in the study area to a depth of 20, 40, and 60 cm was estimated as 2.13×106 kg, 3.46×106 kg, and 4.61×106 kg, respectively.

铁(Fe)作为目前应用最为广泛的金属材料之一,被应用在各种不同的服役环境中。在有氧条件下,铁基材料易发生不同程度与形式的氧化,会在表面形成一定厚度的氧化层。研究表明添加元素形成合金后能有效提高铁基材料的抗氧化性,而对于铁基合金氧化初期的氧化行为缺乏足够的研究。基于扫描电子显微镜(SEM),X射线能谱(EDS)与X射线光电子能谱(XPS)分析技术,对添加了Si、Cr、Mn等元素的铁基材料在常温及高温环境下表面形成的氧化物进行形貌、元素及价态分析。结果表明,铁基合金在常温和高温含氧环境下会发生不同的氧化行为。常温环境下Fe进行自然氧化形成纳米尺度厚度的Fe_(2)O_(3)薄膜;高温下元素会按照Si>Mn>Cr>Fe的优先级进行氧化,并在表面形成Si-Mn-Cr-Fe-O复合薄膜,阻碍Fe的向外扩散,提高抗氧化性能;提高Cr的含量能够有效提高铁基合金的抗氧化性能。XPS技术有效地解决了X射线衍射(XRD)探测深度过大无法准确表征铁基合金表面氧化物薄膜物相的不足,能够分析出纳米级薄膜的化学组成与化学态,为后续金属氧化物薄膜研究提供了技术借鉴。
