We investigated the possibility of producing chicken alpha interferon （ChlFN-α） in transgenic plants. The cDNA encoding ChlFN-α was introduced into lettuce （Lactuca sativa L.） plants by using an agro-infiltration transient expression system. The ChlFN-a gene was correctly transcribed and translated in the lettuce plants according to RT-PCR and ELISA assays. Recombinant protein exhibited antiviral activity in vitro by inhibition of vesicular stomatitis virus （VSV） replication on chicken embryonic fibroblast （CEF）. The results demonstrate that biologically active avian cytokine with potential pharmaceutical applications could be expressed in transgenic lettuce plants and that it is possible to generate interferon protein in forage plants for preventing infectious diseases of poultry.

Solid-state refrigeration which is environmentally benign has attracted considerable ***(mC)materials,in which the phase transitions can be induced by mechanical stresses,represent one of the most promising types of solid-state caloric ***,we have developed a thermodynamic phenomenological model and predicted extraordinarily large elastocaloric(eC)strengths for the(111)-oriented metal-free perovskite ferroelectric[MDABCO](NH_(4))I_(3)*** predicted room temperature isothermal eC ΔS_(eC)/Δσ(eC entropy change under unit stress change)and adiabatic eCΔTeC/Δσ(eC temperature change under unit stress change)for[MDABCO](NH_(4))I_(3) are−60.0 J K^(−1)kg^(−1)GPa^(−1) and 17.9 K GPa^(−1),respectively,which are 20 times higher than the traditional ferroelectric oxides such as BaTiO_(3) thin *** have also demonstrated that the eC performance can be improved by reducing the Young’s modulus or enhancing the thermal expansion coefficient(which could be realized through chemical doping,etc.).We expect these discoveries to spur further interest in the potential applications of metal-free organic ferroelectrics materials towards next-generation eC refrigeration devices.

The backreaming operation plays a significant role in safe drilling for horizontal wellbores, while it may cause severe stuck pipe accidents. To lower the risk of the stuck pipe in backreaming operations, the mechanism of cuttings transport needs to be carefully investigated. In this research, a transient cuttings transport with multiple flow patterns model is developed to predict the evolution of cuttings transported in the annulus while backreaming. The established model can provide predictions of the distribution of cuttings bed along the wellbore considering the bulldozer effect caused by large-size drilling tools(LSDTs). The sensitivity analyses of the size of LSDTs, and backreaming operating parameters are conducted in Section 4. And a new theory is proposed to explain the mechanism of cuttings transport in the backreaming operation, in which both the bit and LSDTs have the “cleaning effect” and “plugging effect”.The results demonstrate that the cuttings bed in annuli is in a state of dynamic equilibrium, but the overall trend and the distribution pattern are obvious. First, larger diameters and longer drilling tools could lead to a higher risk of the stuck pipe. Second, we find that it is not the case that the higher flow rate is always better for hole cleaning, so three flow-rate intervals are discussed separately under the given conditions. When the “dangerous flow rate”(35 L/s in Case 4),the higher the flow rate, the better the cleaning effect of cuttings beds. A new measurement method for the spatial distribution of neutron beam flux in boron neutron capture therapy(BNCT)is being developed based on the two-dimensional Micromegas *** address the issue of long processing times in traditional offline position reconstruction methods,this paper proposes a field programmable gate array based online position reconstruction method utilizing the micro-time projection chamber *** method encapsulates key technical aspects:a self-adaptive serial link technique built upon the dynamical adjustment of the delay chain length,fast sorting,a coordinate-matching technique based on the mapping between signal timestamps and random access memory(RAM)addresses,and a precise start point-merging technique utilizing a circular combined *** performance test of the selfadaptive serial link shows that the bit error rate of the link is better than 10-12 at a confidence level of 99%,ensuring reliable data *** experiment utilizing the readout electronics and Micromegas detector shows a spatial resolution of approximately 1.4 mm,surpassing the current method’s resolution level of 5 *** beam experiment confirms that the readout electronics system can obtain the flux spatial distribution of neutron beams online,thus validating the feasibility of the position reconstruction *** online position reconstruction method avoids traditional methods,such as bubble sorting and traversal searching,simplifies the design of the logic firmware,and reduces the time complexity from O(n2)to O(n).This study contributes to the advancement in measuring neutron beam flux for BNCT.

Understanding the quantitative responses of anisotropic dynamic properties in organic-rich shale with different kerogen content(KC)is of great significance in hydrocarbon exploration and *** controlled experiments with a single variable is challenging for natural shales due to their high variations in components,diagenesis conditions,or pore *** employed the hot-pressing technique to construct 11 well-controlled artificial shale with varying *** artificial shale samples were successive machined into prismatic shape for ultrasonic measurements along different *** revealed bedding perpendicular P-wave velocities are more sensitive to the increasing KC than bedding paralleling velocities due to the preferential alignments of *** elastic stiffnesses except C_(13)are generally decreasing with the increasing KC,the variation of C_(1) and C_(33)on kerogen content are more sensitive than those of C_(44)and C_(66).Apparent dynamic mechanical parameters(v and E)were found to have linear correlation with the true ones from complete anisotropic equations independent of KC,which hold value towards the interpretation of well logs consistently across formations,Anisotropic mechanical parameters(ΔE and brittlenessΔB)tend to decrease with the reducing KC,withΔB showing great sensitivity to KC *** the range of low KC(10%)shale,compilation of data from natural organic rich-shales globally verified the similar systematic relationships that can be empirically used to predict the fraction of KC in shales.

The Fengcheng Formation is a crucial source rock and the primary reservoir for oil accumulation in the Mahu *** oils are distributed throughout the Fengcheng Formation,ranging from the edge to the interior of the sag in the southern Mahu *** crude oils originate from in-situ source rocks in shallowly buried areas and the inner deep *** migration,the crude oil from the inner deep sag affects the source rocks close to carrier beds,leading to changes in the organic geochemical characteristics of the source *** changes might alter source rock evaluations and oil-source *** on data such as total organic carbon(TOC),Rock-Eval pyrolysis of source rocks,and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)of the saturated fraction,and considering the geological characteristics of the study area,we define the identification characteristics of source rock affected by migrated hydrocarbons and establish the various patterns of influence that migrated hydrocarbons have on the source rock of the Fengcheng Formation in the southern Mahu *** source rocks of the Fengcheng Formation are mostly fair to good,containing mainly Type II organic matter and being thermally mature enough to generate *** rocks affected by migrated hydrocarbons exhibit relatively high hydrocarbon contents(S1/TOC>110 mg HC/g TOC,Extract/TOC>30%,HC:hydrocarbon),relatively low Rock-Eval Tmax values,and relatively high tricyclic terpane contents with a descending and mountain-shaped ***,biomarker composition parameters indicate a higher thermal maturity than in-situ source *** a comparison of the extract biomarker fingerprints of adjacent reservoirs and mudstones in different boreholes,three types of influence patterns of migrated hydrocarbons are identified:the edge-influence of thin sandstone-thick mudstone,the mixed-influence of sandstone-mudstone interbedded,and the full-influence of thick sandstone-thin *** finding reminds

For warm/hot and dense plasmas(WDPs),ionization potential depression(IPD)plays a crucial role in determining its ionization balance and understanding the resultant microscopic plasma properties.A sophisticated and unified IPD model is necessary to resolve those existing discrepancies between theoretical and experimental ***,the applicability of those widely used IPD models nowadays is limited,especially for the nonlocal thermodynamic equilibrium(non-LTE)dense plasma produced by short-pulse *** this work,we propose an IPD model that considers inelastic atomic processes,in which three-body recombination and collision ionization processes are found to play a crucial role in determining the electron distribution and IPD for a *** IPD model is validated by reproducing latest experimental results of Al plasmas with a wide-range condition of 70 eV–700 eV temperature and 0.2–3 times solid density,as well as a typical non-LTE system of hollow Al *** is demonstrated that the present IPD model has a significant temperature dependence due to the consideration of the inelastic collision *** a lower computational cost and wider application range of plasma conditions,the proposed model is expected to provide a promising tool to study the ionization balance and the atomic processes,as well as the related radiation and particle transports properties of the WDP.

The safety assessment of high-level radioactive waste repositories requires a high predictive accuracy for radionuclide diffusion and a comprehensive understanding of the diffusion *** this study,a through-diffusion method and six machine-learning methods were employed to investigate the diffusion of ReO_(4)^(−),HCrO_(4)^(−),and I−in saturated compacted bentonite under different salinities and compacted dry *** machine-learning models were trained using two *** dataset contained six input features and 293 instances obtained from the diffusion database system of the Japan Atomic Energy Agency(JAEA-DDB)and 15 *** other dataset,comprising 15,000 pseudo-instances,was produced using a multi-porosity model and contained eight input *** results indicate that the former dataset yielded a higher predictive accuracy than the *** gradient-boosting exhibited a higher prediction accuracy(R2=0.92)and lower error(MSE=0.01)than the other machine-learning *** addition,Shapley Additive Explanations,Feature Importance,and Partial Dependence Plot analysis results indicate that the rock capacity factor and compacted dry density had the two most significant effects on predicting the effective diffusion coefficient,thereby offering valuable insights.
