Colonic lipomas are relatively uncommon tumors of mesenchymal origin,composed of well-differentiated adipose tissue supported by fibrous tissue,that usually occur in cecum and ascending *** lipomas rarely cause symptoms and are usually detected incidentally. However,if the lesion is large,it may produce symptoms, such as abdominal pain,rectal bleeding,obstruction, intussusception,and even weight *** colonic lipomas can be mistaken for malignancy,which may result in extensive surgical *** report a large broadbased ulcerated cecal lipoma in a 68-year-old woman, who presented with abdominal pain and weight *** ulcerated lesion was highly suspicious for malignancy radiologically and *** patient underwent laparoscopic right-hemicolectomy,and the lesion was diagnosed as a cecal submucosal *** surgical approach remains the treatment of choice for large and complicated cases.

The strain behavior of 0.71 Pb(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3)ePbTiO_(3)(PMN-PT)single crystal prepared by a solidstate single crystal growth method was investigated on two most widely used orientations,i.e.,(001)-and(011)-oriented.A special emphasis was put on the correlation among longitudinal and transverse strains and the consequent volume *** show that seemingly different strain behavior of(001)-and(011)-oriented crystals has the same origin,and the underlying mechanism excludes possible contribution from the frequently cited polarization *** situ monitoring of electric field induced Poisson’s ratio further suggested that the polarization vectors contributing to the strain properties in PMN-PT are not confined to a unique direction forced by the crystallographic symmetry but possess a span of angular range.

Mixed-dimensional composite structures using zero-dimensional(0D)quantum dots(QDs)and two-dimensional(2D)transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs)materials are expected to attract great interest in optoelectronics due to the potential to generate new optical ***,we report on the unique optical characteristics of a devices with mixed dimensional vertically stacked structures based on tungsten diselenide(WSe_(2))/CdSeS QDs monolayer/molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2))(2D/0D/2D).Specifically,it exhibits an ambipolar photoresponse characteristic,with a negative photoresponse observed in the 400-600 nm wavelength range and a positive photoresponse appeared at 700 nm *** resulted in the high negative responsivity of up to 52.22 mA·W^(−1)under 400 nm,which is 163 times higher than that of the photodetector without CdSeS *** also demonstrated the negative photoresponse,which could be due to increased carrier collision probability and non-radiative *** modeling and simulation reveal that Auger recombination among the types of non-radiative recombination is the main cause of negative photocurrent ***,we discovered ambipolar photoresponse near a specific wavelength corresponding to the energy of quantum *** study revealed interesting phenomenon in the mixed low-dimensional stacked structure and paved the way to exploit it for the development of innovative photodetection materials as well as for optoelectronic applications.

Metastasis to the gallbladder:A single-center experience of 20 cases in South Korea

AIM： To evaluate the clinicopathologic characteristics of patients with metastases to the gallbladder （MGBs）. METHODS： We performed a single-center retrospective study of 20 patients with MGBs diagnosed pathologically from 1999 to 2007. RESULTS： Among 417 gallbladder （GB） malignancies, 20 （4.8%） were MGBs. The primary malignancies originated from the stomach （n = 8）, colorectum （n = 3）, liver （n = 2）, kidney （n = 2）, skin （n = 2）, extrahepatic bile duct （n = 1）, uterine cervix （n = 1）, and appendix （n = 1）. Twelve patients were diagnosed metachronously, presenting with cholecystitis （n = 4）, abdominal pain （n = 2）, jaundice （n = 1）, weight loss （n = 1）, and serum CA 19-9 elevation （n = 1）; five patients were asymptomatic. The median survival after the diagnosis of MGB was 8.7 mo. On Cox regression analysis, R0 resection was the only factor associated with a prolonged survival [hazard ratio （HR）： 0.01, P = 0.002]; presentation with cholecystitis was associated with poor survival （HR： 463.27, P = 0.006）. CONCLUSION： MGBs accounted for 4.8% of all pathologically diagnosed GB malignancies. The most common origin was the stomach. The median survival of MGI3 was 8.7 mo.

Defect fluorescence from high aspect ratio semiconductor nanowires typically displays a weak polarization parallel to the nanowire’s long axis due to dielectric mismatch in high aspect ratio ***,anomalous 2.2 eV defect fluorescence distinctly polarized perpendicular to the nanowire is observed and measured from carbon-incorporated zinc oxide *** observations are significant because polarized defect emissions with consistent polarization on a mesoscopic scale are *** a systematic study and comparison of experimental results with density functional theory calculations,an oriented defect complex comprising carbon substituting on an oxygen site and an oxygen vacancy(CO-VO)is deduced to be responsible for the anomalous yellow fluorescence,demonstrating a method for relating atomic-scale defect geometry to mesoscopic *** anomalous emission can appear in both green-and red-fluorescing nanowires grown with different carbon concentrations,verifying the independence and uniqueness of the 2.2 eV *** allows for polarization-dependent emission wavelength selection from a single nanowire.

Nematode Diversity in Phaeozem Agroecosystems of Northeast China

The diversity and distribution patterns of soil nematode communities in phaeozem agroecosystems of Northeast China were assessed to evaluate nematode taxonomic diversity and functional diversity in relation to climatic condition and soil characteristics in human modified landscape. Along the latitudinal gradient, soil samples were collected from north （Hailun） to south （Gongzhuling） down to a depth of 100 cm with intervals of 030, 20-40, 40-60, 60-80, and 80-100 cm. The nematode abundance and taxonomic diversity （generic richness） were lower at Hailun than at other sites, and higher values of evenness were observed at Hailun and Harbin than at Dehui and Gongzhuling. Nematode faunal analysis revealed that soil food web at Hailun was sueeessionally more mature or structured, and the environment little disturbed, while at Harbin and Gongzhuling, the soil food web was degraded with stressed environment. The environmental variables relevant in explaining the patterns of nematode distribution and diversity in phaeozem agroecosystems, using canonical correspondence analysis （CCA）, were the mean annual temperature, total nitrogen, electrical conductivity, mean annual precipitation, and other soil properties. Among these variables, the mean annual temperature was a relatively important factor, which could explain 29.05% of the variations in nematode composition.

Background: Autophagy is elevated in metastatic tumors and is often associatedwith active epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT). However, the extent towhich EMT is dependent on autophagy is largely unknown. This study aimed toidentify the mechanisms by which autophagy facilitates ***: We employed a liquid chromatography-based metabolomic approachwith kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene (KRAS) and liver kinase B1 (LKB1)gene co-mutated (KL) cells that represent an autophagy/EMT-coactivatedinvasive lung cancer subtype for the identification of metabolites linked to autophagy-driven EMT activation. Molecular mechanisms of autophagy-drivenEMT activation were further investigated by quantitative real-time polymerasechain reaction (qRT-PCR), Western blotting analysis, immunoprecipitation,immunofluorescence staining, and metabolite assays. The effects of chemicaland genetic perturbations on autophagic flux were assessed by two orthogonalapproaches: microtubule-associated protein 1A/1B-light chain 3 (LC3) turnoveranalysis by Western blotting and monomeric red fluorescent protein-greenfluorescent protein (mRFP-GFP)-LC3 tandem fluorescent protein quenchingassay. Transcription factor EB (TFEB) activity was measured by coordinatedlysosomal expression and regulation (CLEAR) motif-driven luciferase reporterassay. Room temperature deformation behavior of A1-8Fe-2Mo-2V-1Zr alloy produced by spray forming and subsequent warm-extrusion at 693 K and/or rolling at 423 K was investigated in terms of tensile test and microstructural *** the specimen processed by spray forming and warm extrusion, the microstructure consisting of equiaxed grains with the average grain size of 500 nm in the matrix phase and uniformly dispersed fine intermetallic A13(Fe, Mo, V, Zr) and A16(Fe, Mo, V, Zr) phases less than 100 nm was characterized. It was revealed that subsequent warm rolling after warm extrusion promotes precipitation of a fine dispersoid from the supersaturated matrix phase. Warm rolling was found to be effective to increase the yield and tensile strength in the high strain rate regime. Elongation of the warm rolled specimen showed highe r value than extruded specimen over the whole strain rate region studied.
