AIM: To investigate the incidence and distribution of second primary cancers(SPCs) in early gastric cancer(EGC) patients who underwent endoscopic resection(ER), compared to advanced gastric cancer(AGC) patients who underwent ***: The medical records of 1021 gastric cancer(GC) patients were retrospectively reviewed from January 2006 to December 2010. The characteristics and incidence of SPCs were investigated in those with EGC that underwent curative ER(the EGC group) and those with AGC who underwent curative surgical resection(the AGC group).RESULTS: We ultimately enrolled 184 patients in the EGC group and 229 patients in the AGC group. A total of 38 of the 413(9.2%) GC patients had SPCs; the rate was identical in both groups. Of these 38 patients, 18 had synchronous and 20 had metachronous cancers. The most common SPC was lung cancer(18.4%), followed by colorectal cancer(13.2%) and esophageal cancer(13.2%). No significant risk factors were identified for the development of ***: Endoscopists should provide close surveillance and establish follow-up programs to ensure SPC detection in GC patients undergoing curativeresection regardless of their clinical characteristics.

Niobium (Nb)-clad stainless steels(SS) produced via roll bonding are being considered for use in the bipolar plates of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell(PEMFC) stacks. Because the roll bonding process induces substantial work hardening in the constituent materials, thermal annealing is used to restore ductility to the clad sheet so that it can be subsequently blanked, stamped and dimpled in forming the final plate component. Two roll bonded materials, niobium clad 340L stainless steel (Nb/340L SS) and niobium clad 434 stainless steel (Nb/434 SS) were annealed under optimized conditions prescribed by the cladding manufacturer. Comparative mechanical testing conducted on each material before and after annealing shows significant improvement in ductility in both cases. However, corresponding microstructural analyses indicate an obvious difference between the two heat treated materials. During annealing, an interlayer with thick less than 1 μm forms between the constituent layers in the Nb/340L SS, whereas no interlayer is found in the annealed Nb/434 SS material. Prior work suggests that internal defects potentially can be generated in such an interlayer during metal forming operations. Thus, Nb/434 SS may be the preferred candidate material for this application.

AIM: To investigate the relationship between pancreatic amylase in bile duct and the clinico-pathological features in adult patients with choledochal cyst and anomalous pancreatico-biliary ductal union (APBDU).METHODS: From 39 patients who underwent surgery for choledochal cyst between March 1995 and March 2003,we selected 15 adult patients who had some symptoms and were radiologically diagnosed as APBDU, and their clinico-pathological features were subsequently evaluated retrospectively. However, we could not obtain biliary amylase in all the patients because of the surgeon's ***, we measured the amylase level in gall bladder of 10 patients and in common bile duct of 11 ***: Levels of amylase in common bile duct and gall bladder ranged from 11 500 to 212 000 IU/L, and the younger the patients, the higher the biliary amylase level (r= -0.982, P＜0.01). Pathologically, significant correlation was found between the size of choledochal cyst and the grade of inflammation (r= 0.798,P＜0.01). And, significant correlation was found between the level of amylase in gall bladder and the grade of hyperplasia. On the other hand, there was no correlation to the age of symptomatic onset or inflammatory grade (r = 0.743, P＜0.05). Level of lipase was elevated from 6 000 to 159 000 IU/L in bile duct and from 14 400 to 117 000 IU/L in the gall bladder;however, there was no significant correlation with age or clinico-pathological ***: The results support the notion that amylase has a particular role in the onset of symptoms, and suggest that a large amount of biliary amylase induces early onset of symptom, thereby making early diagnosis possible.

High efficiency and flexible inverted organic solar cells have been fabricated using solution-processed silver nanowire/zinc oxide composite transparent electrodes. The transparent electrodes showed a low sheet resistance of -13 ff）.sq-1 and high transmittance of -93% as well as superior mechanical flexibility. Power conversion efficiencies of -7.57% and -7.21% were achieved for devices fabricated on glass and plastic substrate, respectively. Moreover, the flexible devices did not show any degradation in their performance even after being folded with a radius of-480 μm.

Population studies have suggested an association between diabetes and the symptoms of testosterone deficiency. Recently, the expression of the androgen receptor （AR） has been shown to be decreased in diabetic patients. Furthermore, diabetes has been shown to induce global methylation. In this study, we used an animal model to investigate whether diabetes results in increased methylation of the AR promoter and whether these changes are associated with the decreased expression of AR in penile cavernosal smooth muscle tissue. Twenty C57BL/6J mice were divided into two groups, receiving either high- （mature diabetic） or low- （mature control） caloric meals for 14 weeks. Another 10 mice were killed at 1 week （young control）. Animals in the mature diabetic group showed decreased testosterone levels, although this was not statistically significant. In both control groups, no significant methylation was observed in the AR promoter region CpG island （-85 to ＋339）. In the mature diabetic group, significant methylation was observed at ＋ 185 and ＋200 of the AR promoter. These changes were associated with increased homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance （HOMA-IR） and decreased corpus cavernosal tissue mass and expression of AR mRNA and protein. We conclude that in these animals, insulin resistance increased the methylation of the GC-rich regions of the AR promoter, leading to decreased AR expression.

We develop a quantum key distribution (QKD) system with fast active optical path length compensation. A rapid and reliable active optical path length compensation scheme is proposed and applied to a plug-and-play QKD system. The system monitors changes in key rates and controls it is own operation automatically. The system achieves its optimal performance within three seconds of operation, which includes a sifted key rate of 5.5 kbps and a quantum bit error rate of less than 2% after an abrupt temperature variation along the 25 km quantum channel. The system also operates well over a 24 h period while completing more than 60 active optical path length compensations.

This paper presents the architecture of a Convolution Neural Network(CNN)accelerator based on a newprocessing element(PE)array called a diagonal cyclic array(DCA).As demonstrated,it can significantly reduce the burden of repeated memory accesses for feature data and weight parameters of the CNN models,which maximizes the data reuse rate and improve the computation ***,an integrated computation architecture has been implemented for the activation function,max-pooling,and activation function after convolution calculation,reducing the hardware *** evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed architecture,a CNN accelerator has been implemented for You Only Look Once version 2(YOLOv2)-Tiny consisting of 9 ***,the methodology to optimize the local buffer size with little sacrifice of inference speed is presented in this *** implemented the proposed CNN accelerator using a Xilinx Zynq ZCU102 Ultrascale+Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA)and ISE Design *** FPGA implementation uses 34,336 Look Up Tables(LUTs),576 Digital Signal Processing(DSP)blocks,and an on-chip memory of only 58 KB,and it could achieve accuracies of 57.92% and 56.42% mean Average Precession@0.5 thresholds for intersection over union(mAP@0.5)using quantized 16-bit and 8-bit full integer data manipulation with only 0.68% as a loss for 8-bit version and computation time of 137.9 and 69 ms for each input image respectively using a clock speed of 200 *** speeds are expected to be doubled five times using a clock speed of 1GHz if implemented in a silicon System on Chip(SoC)using a sub-micron process.

In order to elucidate the genetic diversity and taxonomic status of Siberian roe deer(Capreolus pygargus)from the Korean peninsula,partial sequences of the mitochondrial cytochrome b gene were *** collected 57 roe deer samples from Mainland and Jeju Island between July 2004 and June 2009.A total of 50 sequences(1,070 bp)were obtained,and seven haplotypes were *** haplotypes were found from Mainland,and two were discovered from Jeju *** genetic diversity was lower in the Jeju Island population than in the Mainland *** addition,both the consensus neighbor-joining tree and maximum parsimony tree showed an identical topology between the Mainland and Jeju Island *** on the results,two subspecies of the Korean roe deer were *** roe deer in Jeju Island showed a distinct difference in the cytochrome b gene compared with other Siberian roe deer,being aunique native species inhabiting only Jeju Island in *** Siberian roe deer in Jeju Island can be classified at subspecies level,the new subspecies in Jeju was named Capreolus pygargus jejuensis in this *** this new subspecies,reasonable conservation and management effort is needed in the future.

We report a case of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm(IPMN) originating from the ileal heterotopic pancreas in a patient with hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer(HNPCC). A 49-year-old woman had a past history of total colectomy and total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy due to colonic adenocarcinoma and endometrial adenocarcinoma 11 years ago. Her parents died from colonic adenocarcinoma and her sister died from colonic adenocarcinoma and endometrial adenocarcinoma. The clinician found an ileal mass with necrotic change and the mass increased in size from 1.7 cm to 2.2 cm during the past 2 years on computed tomography. It was surgically resected. Microscopically, the ileal mass showed heterotopic pancreas with IPMN high grade dysplasia. Immunohistochemical staining revealed positive reactivity for MLH1/PMS2 and negative reactivity for MSH2/MSH6. This is the first report of IPMN originating from the ileal heterotopic pancreas in a patient with HNPCC in the English literature.
