A dissolution method with robust high performance liquid chromatographic （HPLC） analysis for im- mediate release tablet formulation was developed and validated to meet the requirement as per Inter- national Conference on Harmonization （ICH） and United States Food and Drug Administration （USFDA） guidelines. The method involved the use of Agilent ZORBAX Eclipse XDB C18 column, and temperature was maintained at 30 ℃. After optimization, the mobile phase was selected as phosphate buffer （KH2PO4, 30 mM）： ACN （60：40, v/v） with pH 3.0, and retention time Rt was found as 3.24, 4.16, and 2.55 min for paracetamol （PCM）, chlorpheniramine maleate （CPM） and phenylephrine hydrochloride （PH） respec- tively at 265 nm and at a flow rate of 1 mL/min. The relative standard deviation （%RSD） for 6 replicate measurements was found to be less than 2%. Furthermore net analyte signal standard addition method （NASSAM） with spectrophotometer was performed for standard and liquid oral suspension. On the basis of selectivity, sensitivity and accuracy analysis, it was confirmed that this novel method could be useful for simultaneous estimation of the given drug combinations. Two-way analysis of variance （ANOVA） was applied for evaluating the statistical difference between the assay results obtained via both NASSAM and RP-HPLC methods and ultimately no significant difference was found between both the methods. All the methods and results were acceptable and confirmed that the method was suitable for intended use.

We work on photon production through annihilation and Compton, and annihilation with scattering (AWS) processes through a quark-gluon plasma (QGP) in high energy nuclear collision incorporating the parametrization factors in strong coupling value and thermal dependent quark mass obtained through a coupling value. We find that photon yield increases with the increasing of the temperature and dominated by early times. We also compare the influence of coupling value on the spectrum of thermal photons. The production rate of photons is observed in the range of low and intermediate transverse momentum. The results are compared with other work.

Title: Analysis of factors influencing true blood loss in navigated total knee replacements. Objectives: To evaluate true blood loss in total knee replacements and analyze the various factors such as gender, BMI, diagnosis, size of implants, duration of surgery, tourniquet usage etc. on calculated blood loss using formula by Nadler et al. All the cases included have been done using navigation system and no comparison with conventional jig based surgeries has been attempted. Methods: Retrospectively data of primary cemented total knee replacements performed from October 2012 to August 2013 were evaluated. All surgeries were performed using navigation system. The data collected included patient sex, height, weight and preoperative haemoglobin and hematocrit. The patients’ postoperative data of haemoglobin, hematocrit and drains were collected. All patients had their CBC done on 2nd post operative day. Any data on transfusions that patients received were also collected. We also collected data regarding the size of implant used. We calculated true blood based on formula given by Nadler, Hidalgo & Bloch. We excluded patients whose data were incomplete or who received tranexamic acid. Patients who needed stems (femoral or tibial) were also excluded from this study. Results: The average true calculated blood loss was 959.44 ml. BMI did not have any effect on blood loss. But larger size implants were associated with more blood loss. Conclusion: The preoperative haemoglobin is one of the most important factors in determining transfusion following the knee replacement. Male gender and larger implants are associated with more blood loss. BMI, diagnosis of OA or RA, tourniquet usage and time have no significant effect on blood loss. Our calculated blood loss compares favourably with published literature.

Heterogeneous network consists of the pico cells overlaid over the macro cell coverage area in a wireless cellular network. The pico cells are deployed to increase the capacity of the homogeneous network by reusing the spectrum further. However, more users will tend to be associated to the macro cell due to the fact that the transmit power of the pico cell is low. In order to increase the number of users associated to the pico cell, range extension techniques like biased association are used. This will cause severe interference to cell edge users of the pico cell from the macro cell causing degradation in throughput performance in the cell range extension area. In this paper, interference mitigation using receiver processing along with different scheduling techniques is proposed to improve the throughput, average delay, and the packet delivery ratio performance of the system. The performance comparison of the round robin, proportional fair and modified largest weighted delay first (MLWDF) algorithm for resource allocation using interference suppressing receiver is done, and analyzed. It is shown that the MLWDF algorithm achieves the highest throughput with minimum average delay of packets with the best delivery ratio.

Diversity and regeneration status of Sarkot Van Panchyat in Garhwal Himalaya, India

We investigated the floristic composition, phytosociological and regeneration status of Sarkot Van Panchyat （community forest） in Chamoli district of Garhwal Himalaya. A total of 52 plant species of 46 genera and 26 families were recorded, which included 12 trees, 18 shrubs and 22 herb species. Quercus leucotrichophora was dominant tree species in sapling and seedling layers, followed by Lyonia ovalifolia and Rhododendron arboreum. Out of 12 tree species, 7 species in seedling stage and 8 species in sapling stage were recorded in the study area. The 44.41% species in the study area showed good regeneration status, 16.66% species were fairly regenerating, and 8.33% species showed poor regeneration status, while 33% species were not regenerating. Number of individuals from lower girth classes （0--10 cm and 10-30 cm） showed decreasing trend with the increase in size of girth class. Shannon index （H） for trees, shrubs and herbs was recorded as 1.82, 2.24 and 2.41 respectively. Simpsons index （Co） was recorded as 0.21, 0.12 and 0.12 for trees, shrubs and herbs respectively. The forest should be di- vided into compartments for better management purpose and each compartment should be closed for five years to assist regeneration and enrichment planting may also be carried out for sustainable management.

An Innovative Cerclage Wire Passer

The cerclage wire is an important adjuvant in the management of Orthopaedic and trauma cases and is particularly useful in long bone fractures. It is especially useful for addressing the fractures, especially the comminuted ones with a butterfly fragment. Orthopaedic cerclage Wiring is used as an adjunct to maintain fracture reduction (either temporarily or permanently), while the bone is primarily stabilised by either a plate intramedullary nail or external fixation frame. Multiple cerclage wires provide adjunctive fixation against compressive shear, bending & rotational forces and have been used in traumatology since many years. The aim of this article is to introduce a new year simple low cost instrument named as “Suyash cerclage wire passer”, with excellent outcomes without any major complications to the Orthopaedic community.

AIM： To evaluate the clinical and biochemical profile of patients with non alcoholic fatty liver disease （NAFLD） and to assess their histological severity at ***： Consecutive patients presenting to the liver clinic of All India Institute of Medical Sciences （AIIMS） with raised transaminases to at least 1.5 times upper limit of normal, and histologically confirmed non-alcoholic fatty liver disease were included. Patients who had significant alcohol intake or positive markers of other liver diseases or who were taking drugs known to produce fatty liver were excluded. The clinical, biochemical and histological profile of this group was studied. RESULTS： Fifty-one patients with NAFLD formed the study population. Their median age and BMI were 34（17-58） years and 26.7（21.3-32.5） kg/m^2 respectively and 46 （90.1%） were males. The majority of the patients had mild inflammation, either grade 1 [32 （63%）] or grade 2 [16 （31%）] and only 3 （6%） patients had severe （grade 3） inflammation. Twenty-three （45%）, 19 （37%）, 8（16%） and 1（2%） patient had stage 0, 1, 2 and 3 fibrosis respectively on index biopsy and none had cirrhosis. On univariate analysis, triglyceride levels more than 150 mg % （OR = 7.1; 95% CI： 1.6-31.5, P = 0.002） and AST ALT ratio 〉 1 （OR = 14.3; 95% CI： 1.4-678.5, P = 0.008） were associated with high grades of inflammation and none was associated with advanced fibrosis. On multivariate logistic regression analysis, hypertriglyceridemia 〉150 mg% was the only factor independently associated with presence of high grade of inflammation （OR = 1.6; 95% CI： 1.3-22.7, P =0.02）, while none was associated with advanced fibrosis. Triglyceride levels correlated positively with inflammatory grade （r = 0.412; P = 0.003）. CONCLUSION： NAFLD in North Indian patients is a disease of young over-weight males, most of whom are insulin resistant and they tend to have a mild histological disease at presentation.
