Formononetin alleviates diabetic cardiomyopathy by inhibiting oxidative stress and upregulating SIRT1 in rats

1 Introduction Cardiac amyloid(CA)is characterized by inexorably progressive heart failure making early diagnosis and treatment *** article will review the pathophysiology,clinical presentation,diagnosis,prognostication and treatment of patients with CA.2 Pathophysiology CA is the result of extracellular deposition of a misfolded protein into cardiac tissue,forming insoluble aggregations of rigid,nonbranching 10 nm wide *** causes impaired cardiac function by disrupting cardiac architecture,direct myotoxicity and ischemic injury secondary to infiltration of intramyocardial vessels.

Petrogenesis of the Neoarchean zincian chromite within ultramafic xenoliths,Bastar Craton,India

The present study reports and discusses the genesis of zincian chromite in the ultramafic xenoliths from the Dongripali area,Bastar craton,Central *** zincian chromite is in the ultramafic xenoliths of Bengpal supracrustal rock hosted by Neoarchaean Bundeli *** zincian chromite shows a range of Cr_(2)O_(3)(39.69 to 51.66 wt%),Al_(2)O_(3)(05.30 wt%to 08.71 wt%),FeO(21.74 wt%to 27.51 wt%),Fe_(2)O_(3)(10.19 wt%to 19.36wt%)with higher ZnO content ranging from 1.73 wt%to 4.08 wt%.Accordingly,their Cr#[Cr/(Cr+Al)]varies in a narrow range from 0.83 to *** calculated melt composition supports metamorphic or post-magmatic nature rather than common occurrences such as inclusion in diamonds,meteorites,and association with any sulfide-rich mineralised *** reveals that the post-magmatic processes play a vital role in transforming chromite to zincian *** empirical thermometric calculation from chromite,amphibole,and pyroxene support their metamorphic origin and formed during low-P and high-T amphibolite grade facies of metamorphism(~700℃).The Neoarchaean granitic magmatism has a significant role in generating and transferring the heat during contact metamorphism with hydration of ultramafic xenoliths and further alteration,i.e.,*** olivine is a major repository for Mn,Zn,and Co in peridotite/ultramafic;these elements get mobilised during the metamorphism and *** is a possible reason for the mobilisation of zinc and incorporation in the chromite within altered *** a result,chromiterich ultramafic xenolith subjected to metamorphic process gets enrichment of Zn and Fe due to elemental *** converts common chromite into zincian chromite,as reported in altered ultramafics elsewhere.

Population I Cepheids and understanding star formation history of the Small Magellanic Cloud

In this paper, we study the age and spatial distributions of Cepheids in the Small Magellanic Cloud （SMC） as a function of their ages using data from the OGLE III photometric catalogue. A period - age relation derived for Classical Cepheids in the Large Magellanic Cloud （LMC） has been used to find the ages of Cepheids. The age distribution of the SMC Classical Cepheids is found to have a peak at log（Age）： 8.40 ± 0.10 which suggests that a major star formation event might have occurred in the SMC about 250 4- 50 Myr ago. It is believed that this star forming burst had been triggered by close interactions of the SMC with the LMC and/or the Milky Way. A comparison of the observed spatial distributions of the Cepheids and open star clusters has also been carried out to study the star formation scenario in the SMC.

Numerical Investigation of Sound Generation due to Laminar Flow Past Elliptic Cylinders

Numerical investigation of sound generation due to unsteady laminar flow past elliptic cylinders has been carried out using direct numerical simulation(DNS)approach at a free-stream Mach number of *** of aspect ratio(0.6≤AR≤1.0)and Reynolds number(100≤Re≤160)on the characteris-tics of radiated sound fields are ***-dimensional compressible fluid flow equations are solved on a refined grid using high resolution dispersion relation pre-serving(DRP)*** present DNS data,equivalent noise sources as given by various acoustic analogies are *** and frequencies associated with these noise sources are further related to characteristics of disturbance pressure *** pressure fields are intensified with increase in Reynolds number and aspect ***,radiated sound power increases with increase in Reynolds number and aspect *** various cases studied here,minimum and max-imum values of radiated sound power are found at Re=120&AR=0.6 and Re=160&AR=1.0,*** patterns show that the generated sound fields are dominated by the lift dipole for all ***,proper orthogonal decomposition(POD)technique has been implemented for decomposing distur-bance pressure *** POD modes associated with the lift and the drag dipoles have been *** analyses also clearly display that the radiated sound fields are dominated by the lift dipole ***,acoustic and hydrodynamic modes obtained using Doak’s decomposition method have confirmed the patterns of radiated sound field intensities.

Anthropogenic disturbances and status of forest and wildlife in the dry deciduous forests of Chhattisgarh state in India

The advent of modem forces and the changes in socio- economic patterns of forest dwellers have increased the pressures on the forests. In order to mitigate such pressures and also to protect the forests and wildlife the model of protected areas networks has shifted and en- hanced such pressures in the unprotected natural forests due to several reasons. Being a low profile category of protected status and continuous human settlements, the present study highlights the case of dry deciduous forests of Sarguja district of Chhattisgarh state of India. The major objec- tives of this study were to quantify the status of forests and wildlife and also to determine the extent of anthropogenic disturbances faced by the dry deciduous forests of central India. Transect and silent drive count methods were used for sampling wildlife and quadrat method was used for sampling vegetation. Besides, the local uses of various forest pro- duces were also studied in view of understanding the people dependency on forests. The forest vegetation, in the study area, was pre-dominated by Shorea robusta, which had Madhuca indica, Diospyrus melanoxylon and Buchnania lanzan as the major companion species. The forest had either the high girth class mature tree species or the saplings. The low vegeta- tion cover and density were due to the high anthropogenic pressures mainly in the form of heavy livestock grazing and collection of etlmo- botanically important species. The study though reveals that the area is not rich in wildlife and the forest is fragmented, the area still supports some important species, which include many rare and endangered plants and animals. The findings of this study have been discussed in view of the management and conservation of the forest and wildlife in the dry deciduous forests.

Hepatoprotective effect of Woodfordia fruticosa Kurz flowers on diclofenac sodium induced liver toxicity in rats

Objective:To evaluate the protective effect of Woodfordia fruticosa Kurz flowers against experimentally induced liver toxicity in ***:Two different doses of methanol extract of Woodfordia fruticosa(WFM) were evaluated for the hepatoprotective activity against diclofenac sodium induced hepatotoxicity in *** biochemical parameters like alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),alkaline phosphatase(ALP),total protein(TP),albumin(ALB),blood urea nitrogen(BUN) from serum;total protein(TP),glutathione (GSH) levels,catalase(CAT) and glutathione peroxidase(GPx) activities from liver were studied; histopathologic changes of liver were also ***:WFM effectively reduced the elevated levels of serum ALT,AST,ALP and BUN,enhanced the reduced TP,ALB and hepatic GSH,CAT,GPx *** histopathological analysis suggested that WFM decreased the degree of liver fibrosis induced by ***:This study demonstrates the hepatoprotective activity of WFM and thus scientifically support the use of this plant in traditional medicine for the treatment of liver disorders.

We propose a dynamic threshold voltage j unctionless tunnel FET （DT-JLTFET） in wnlcn me mresnolu voltage can be dynamically adjusted, resulting in higher ON-current. Through 2D numerical simulations, it is presented that the threshold voltage in the DT-JLTFET can be adjusted by applying a voltage to the adjust gate. The impact of the threshold voltage shift on the overall performance of the device is also studied. A comparison is made between the dynamic threshold voltage characteristics of a silicon JLTFET and a Sio.7Geo.3 source JLTFET.
