Objective:Evidence-based practices(EBPs)have been taught to students by identifying the best evidence/evidence from research ***,the experiences of Indonesian nurse preceptors in helping students implement research findings have not been explored *** study aimed to explore Indonesian nurse preceptors in guiding nursing students to use research ***:This study used interpretive phenomenology analysis that involves 9 nurse preceptors from hospitals in West Kalimantan,***-structured in-depth interviews were recorded and then transcribed ***:Three themes were generated during the analysis:“types of student supervision,”“issues during supervision,”and“the need for research literacy and supervision.”Conclusions:Nurse preceptors need support to supervise the nursing students to use research *** addition to upgrading nursing skills,nurse preceptors must receive training in research and its *** an appropriate strategy to assist students in using research findings will enhance the promotion of evidence-based nursing practices on a daily basis.

Utilization of Bubbles and Oil for Microplastic Capture from Water

The removal of microplastics(MPs)from water using oil has shown early promise;however,incorporation of this technique into a feasible in situ method has yet to be ***,a simple yet effective method of MP capture from water using vegetable oil with bubbles is demonstrated to achieve high removal efficiencies of>98%.Comparisons are made with other methods of agitation,and higher removal efficiencies are observed when bubbles are *** to the low agitation provided by the bubbles,the oil layer remains unbroken,meaning that no oil is released into the bulk water *** this way,secondary contamination is avoided—unlike membrane filtration,another effective removal method,in which polymer-based membranes can break down due to chemical backwashing and *** is demonstrated that variation in MP size within the micrometer range(50–170 lm)has minor impact on the removal efficiency;however,100%removal is achieved for larger,millimeter-sized MPs(500–5000 lm).Similarly,a high removal efficiency of greater than 99%is achieved in the capture of *** factors such as oil volume and water salinity are also investigated and *** on these results,the proposed method can be introduced into multiple setting types as a passive and continuous method of MP capture.

＜正＞ Yellow-crested cockatoo （Cacatua sulphurea） is an endemic bird to Sulawesi and Lesser Sunda Islands and is categorized as endangered by IUCN. The sub species C.s. abootii, endemic to Masalembo Island （Java Sea）, is the most endangered compared to other three subspecies. At the moment the bird is only present in Masakambing Island, the second biggest island, and has already vanished in the main island Masalembo, as a result of massive capture for pet trade and habitat loss. Masakambing Island （650 ha） is inhabited by around 1200 people, who have already changed the island to coconut plantation and milky-fish pond around the coastal area.

Serum testosterone and prostate-specific antigen levels are major risk factors for prostatic volume increase among benign prostatic hyperplasia patients

Objective:Benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)is one of the most common diseases found among elderly *** though multiple risk factors of BPH have been identified in the past,the risk factors which have a direct impact on prostate volume have not been *** this study,we aim to determine the most significant contributing risk factors to prostate volume enlargement by analyzing possible associated risk factors previously ***:This is a quantitative study with an analytical observational design,performed using a retrospective cohort *** sampling was performed on 83 patients who underwent transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP)in Sanglah General Hospital from January to February *** analysis is performed to examine each variable's association with prostate volume followed by a multivariate *** variables were reassessed with path analysis to measure the direct effects,indirect effects,and total effects on prostate ***:Bivariate analysis shows that serum testosterone(R=0.208;p=0.059)and prostate-specific antigen(PSA)level(R=0.626;p=0.001)have a significant association with prostate *** analysis shows that serum PSA(B=1.4;p=0.001;95%confidence interval[95%CI]=1.039-1.770)and testosterone(B=0.024;p=0.005;95%CI=0.008-0.041)levels are significant among all the analyzed risk *** is a significant and strong effect of PSA to prostate volume(c=0.636;p=0.001)whereas testosterone has a significant albeit weak effect to prostate volume(c=0.246;p=0.009)based on the total effect of the path ***:Serum testosterone and PSA levels are significantly associated with prostatic volume increase among BPH patients.
