Cell rotation is one of the most important techniques for cell manipulation in modern bioscience,as it not only permits cell observation from any arbitrary angle,but also simplifies the procedures for analyzing the mechanical properties of cells,characterizing cell physiology,and performing *** approaches have been reported for rotating cells in a wide range of academic and industrial *** them,the most popular are micro-robot-based direct contact manipulation and field-based non-contact methods(e.g.,optical,magnetic,electric,acoustic,and hydrodynamic methods).This review first summarizes the fundamental mechanisms,merits,and demerits of these six main groups of approaches,and then discusses their differences and limitations in *** aim to bridge the gap between each method and illustrate the development progress,current advances,and prospects in the field of cell rotation.

Assessment of the electrical penetration of cell membranes using four-frequency impedance cytometry

The electrical penetration of the cell membrane is vital for determining the cell interior via impedance ***,we propose a method for determining the conductivity of the cell membrane through the tilting levels of impedance *** electrical penetration occurs,a high-frequency current freely passes through the cell membrane;thus,the intracellular distribution can directly act on the high-frequency impedance *** simulation shows that an uneven intracellular component distribution can affect the tilting levels of impedance pulses,and the tilting levels start increasing when the cell membrane is electrically *** evidence shows that higher detection frequencies(>7 MHz)lead to a wider distribution of the tilting levels of impedance pulses when measuring cell populations with four-frequency impedance *** finding allows us to determine that a detection frequency of 7 MHz is able to pass through the membrane of Euglena gracilis(***)***,we provide a possible application of four-frequency impedance cytometry in the biomass monitoring of single *** ***-frequency impedance(≥7 MHz)can be applied to monitor these biomass changes,and low-frequency impedance(<7 MHz)can be applied to track the corresponding biovolume ***,this work demonstrates an easy determination method for the electrical penetration of the cell membrane,and the proposed platform is applicable for the multiparameter assessment of the cell state during cultivation.

Effect of Low-Dose Sodium Bicarbonate Supplementation on Intermittent Endurance Performance

In this study, we investigated the effect of sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) supplementation at a dose of 0.2 g·kg−1 40 min before an exercise on intermittent endurance performance and gastrointestinal distress. The participants were six healthy male students of a university. The yo-yo intermittent recovery test level 2 (yo-yo IR2) was used for the evaluation of intermittent endurance. The participants ingested water (Cont) or NaHCO3 independently at three timings. After drinking water, the yo-yo IR1 was performed for 2 min as warm-up. After resting for 5 min, the yo-yo IR2 was initiated. The measurement items were exercise distance, nutrition intake, biochemical test results, and blood gas analysis findings. The participants who ingested NaHCO3 had a 14% extended distance than those who ingested Cont, and 2/3 of those who took NaHCO3 showed a better motor performance. No significant difference was observed between the participants who took Cont and NaHCO3 in terms of pH level at baseline, and the NaHCO3 level was significantly higher during pre- and post-exercise (p 3 in terms of bicarbonate ion level at baseline, and the NaHCO3 level was significantly higher during pre- and post-exercise (p 3 at a low dose (0.2 g·kg−1), their exercise ability during an intermittent endurance test has improved. Furthermore, when digestive absorption is considered, eating a meal in advance may be able to suppress the onset of gastrointestinal distress.

在实验室浇筑C20普通混凝土,经28d养护后用破碎机将其破碎、筛选调配制成再生粗骨料与细骨料,以此再生骨料100%替代天然碎石和砂子制备出再生骨料混凝土,探讨了再生骨料混凝土的耐久性能之一,抵抗冻融循环的能力以及抗碳化(中性化)能力。结果表明,100%再生骨料混凝土(简称RR混凝土)试件的冻融循环抵抗性与粗,细骨料置换率为0%的普通混凝土(简称NN混凝土)试件相比,水灰比分别为0.45、0.55时耐久性指数分别降低6%和9%,而且抵抗碳化能力差,碳化速度几乎快三倍。

Background. Paraneoplastic cerebellar degeneration (PCD) is rarely caused by fallopian tube adenocarcinoma. Case. We present a patient with PCD and fallopian tube cancer. Anti-yo antibody, one of an anti-neuronal antibody, was positive in serum and cerebrospinal fluid. She was also positive for HLA A24, which is common in patients with PCD. Radical surgery did not significantly ameliorate her neurological impairment, although the dysarthria improved slightly. Conclusion. This case highlights the importance of detecting the underlying malignancy in patients with subacute neurological impairment and shows that fallopian tube cancer can potentially cause PCD.
