Bioinspired Multifunctional Self-Sensing Actuated Gradient Hydrogel for Soft-Hard Robot Remote Interaction

The development of bioinspired gradient hydrogels with self-sensing actuated capabilities for remote interaction with soft-hard robots remains a challenging endeavor. Here, we propose a novel multifunctional self-sensing actuated gradient hydrogel that combines ultrafast actuation and high sensitivity for remote interaction with robotic hand. The gradient network structure, achieved through a wettability difference method involving the rapid precipitation of MoO_(2) nanosheets, introduces hydrophilic disparities between two sides within hydrogel. This distinctive approach bestows the hydrogel with ultrafast thermo-responsive actuation(21° s^(-1)) and enhanced photothermal efficiency(increase by 3.7 ℃ s^(-1) under 808 nm near-infrared). Moreover, the local cross-linking of sodium alginate with Ca^(2+) endows the hydrogel with programmable deformability and information display capabilities. Additionally, the hydrogel exhibits high sensitivity(gauge factor 3.94 within a wide strain range of 600%), fast response times(140 ms) and good cycling stability. Leveraging these exceptional properties, we incorporate the hydrogel into various soft actuators, including soft gripper, artificial iris, and bioinspired jellyfish, as well as wearable electronics capable of precise human motion and physiological signal detection. Furthermore, through the synergistic combination of remarkable actuation and sensitivity, we realize a self-sensing touch bioinspired tongue. Notably, by employing quantitative analysis of actuation-sensing, we realize remote interaction between soft-hard robot via the Internet of Things. The multifunctional self-sensing actuated gradient hydrogel presented in this study provides a new insight for advanced somatosensory materials, self-feedback intelligent soft robots and human–machine interactions.

The C.oleifera oil processing industry generates large amounts of solid wastes,including C.oleifera shell(COS)and C.oleifera cake(COC).Distinct from generally acknowledged lignocellulosic biomass(corn stover,bamboo,birch,etc.),Camellia wastes contain diverse bioactive substances in addition to the abundant lignocellulosic components,and thus,the bioreﬁnery utilization of C.oleifera processing byproducts involves complicated processing technologies.This reviewﬁrst summarizes various technologies for extracting and converting the main components in C.oleifera oil processing byproducts into value-added chemicals and biobased materials,as well as their potential applications.Microwave,ultrasound,and Soxhlet extractions are compared for the extraction of functional bioactive components(tannin,ﬂavonoid,saponin,etc.),while solvothermal conversion and pyrolysis are discussed for the conversion of lignocellulosic components into value-added chemicals.The application areas of these chemicals according to their properties are introduced in detail,including utilizing antioxidant and anti-in-ﬂammatory properties of the bioactive substances for the speciﬁc application,as well as drop-in chemicals for the substitution of unrenewable fossil fuel-derived products.In addition to chemical production,biochar fabricated from COS and its applications in theﬁelds of adsorption,supercapacitor,soil remediation and wood composites are comprehensively reviewed and discussed.Finally,based on the compositions and structural characteristics of C.oleifera byproducts,the development of full-component valorization strategies and the expansion of the appli-cationﬁelds are proposed.

Diffusion effect on the decay of time-resolved photoluminescence under low illumination in lead halide perovskites

Time-resolved photoluminescence(TRPL)has been extensively used to measure the carrier lifetime in lead halide perovskites.The TRPL curves of perovskite materials are usually fitted with a multi-exponential function,instead of a single exponential one.This was considered to be a result of the surface and the bulk recombination or the additional radiative recombination caused by the high excited carrier density.Here,a new model considering the diffusion and the trap-assisted recombination of carriers is proposed to explain the TRPL curves.The expressions of the TRPL curves and the transient absorption(TA)dynamic curves are theoretically derived,demonstrating that the TRPL curve is an infinite exponential series,regardless of the presence of surface recombination or not.Our newly developed highly sensitive nanosecond TA and TRPL were employed to measure the carrier dynamics of the same sample under low illumination in the linear response region of TA,thereby experimentally verifying our model.These results suggest that the decay of the TRPL is not only a consequence of the carrier recombination but also the carrier diffusion.TRPL cannot provide a direct measurement of the carrier lifetime,whereas TA spectroscopy can.Furthermore,the surface and the bulk recombination can be resolved and the average diffusion coefficient(D)can also be correctly obtained by combining TRPL and TA measurements.We also propose an approximate method for calculating the carrier lifetime and diffusion coefficient of high-quality perovskite films.Our model provides not only a new interpretation of the dynamics of the PL decay but also a deep insight into the carrier dynamics in the nanosecond time scale under working condition of perovskites solar cells.

Overexpression of ZxABCG11 from Zygophyllum xanthoxylum enhances tolerance to drought and heat in alfalfa by increasing cuticular wax deposition

Drought and heat stresses cause yield losses in alfalfa,a forage crop cultivated worldwide.Improving its drought and heat tolerance is desirable for maintaining alfalfa productivity in hot,arid regions.Cuticular wax forms a protective barrier on aerial surfaces of land plants against environmental stresses.ABCG11encodes an ATP binding cassette(ABC) transporter that functions in the cuticular wax transport pathway.In this study,Zx ABCG11 from the xerophyte Zygophyllum xanthoxylum was introduced into alfalfa by Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation.Compared to the wild type(WT),transgenic alfalfa displayed faster growth,higher wax crystal density,and thicker cuticle on leaves under normal condition.Under either drought or heat treatment in greenhouse conditions,the plant height and shoot biomass of transgenic lines were significantly higher than those of the WT.Transgenic alfalfa showed excellent growth and 50% greater hay yield than WT under field conditions in a hot,arid region.Overexpression of Zx ABCG11 up-regulated wax-related genes and resulted in more cuticular wax deposition,which contributed to reduction of cuticle permeability and thus increased water retention and photosynthesis capacity of transgenic alfalfa.Thus,overexpression of Zx ABCG11 can simultaneously improve biomass yield,drought and heat tolerance in alfalfa by increasing cuticular wax deposition.Our study provides a promising avenue for developing novel forage cultivars suitable for planting in hot,arid,marginal lands.

A knowledge graph(KG)is a knowledge base that integrates and represents data based on a graph-structured data model or topology.Geoscientists have made efforts to construct geosciencerelated KGs to overcome semantic heterogeneity and facilitate knowledge representation,data integration,and text analysis.However,there is currently no comprehensive paleontology KG or data-driven discovery based on it.In this study,we constructed a two-layer model to represent the ordinal hierarchical structure of the paleontology KG following a top-down construction process.An ontology containing 19365 concepts has been defined up to 2023.On this basis,we derived the synonymy list based on the paleontology KG and designed corresponding online functions in the OneStratigraphy database to showcase the use of the KG in paleontological research.

Muscle Mass Is Associated with Depression in Adolescents and Young Adults

Background and Aims: The study aims to explore the association between body composition and depression in adolescents and young adults. Methods: A random cluster sampling method was used to select 41 age-matched indi-viduals (aged 11 - 30) as a non-depressive control group. The Department of Psychology at the Affiliated Hospital of Youjiang Medical University for Na-tionalities recruited 27 depressive patients within the same age range. Bioelec-trical impedance analysis measured body composition, while SCL-90, SAS, and SDS were employed for depression diagnosis. Logistic regression analysis was conducted to assess the relationship between body composition and de-pression scores. Results: The Depression Group exhibited higher levels of fat mass (p Conclusion: Depression is associated with age, gender, and muscle mass in adolescents and young people. Proper exercise and a healthy diet can increase muscle mass, thereby reducing fat mass and, as a result, reducing the prevalence of depression.

级配显著影响着土的工程力学特性,深入研究土的级配特征并建立级配方程将其定量表达,对于土的物理力学性质分析与工程应用至关重要。通过分析不同粒组含量分布态势下土的级配特征,确定了连续级配土级配曲线的基本形态。基于Burr分布,提出了一个适用于各类连续级配土的连续级配方程,对级配方程特征参数和级配曲线形态的关系进行定量分析,并利用实际工程数据验证了该连续级配方程的广泛适用性。研究表明:土的粒组含量分布态势和级配曲线形态有很好的对应关系,连续级配曲线存在近似直线形、双曲线形、上凸形和反S形等4种基本形态;提出的连续级配方程可以很好地描述连续级配曲线的4种基本形态;通过连续级配方程特征参数分析,可以定量判断土的级配曲线形态和级配优劣情况;连续级配方程对天然砂砾料和人工爆破堆石料等粗粒土,以及覆盖层天然砂土、粉土和黏土等细粒土,均能够很好地描述它们的级配特征。

Ordering Results on Largest Order Statistics from Multiple-Outlier Gamma Variables

In this article,we carry out stochastic comparisons on the maximum order statistics arising from two batches of multiple-outlier gamma random variables with different shape and scale parameters.It is proved that,under certain conditions,the majorization order between the vectors of shape parameters together with the weak majorization order[p-larger order]between the vectors of scale parameters implies the likelihood ratio order[hazard rate order]between the largest order statistics.The results established here strengthen and generalize some known ones in the literature.

从我国煤炭行业绿色发展趋势和要求出发,分析了煤炭企业对不同充填开采方式选择的考量因素,以及影响充填开采技术推广的制约因素,针对不同矿区地域分布特征和充填需求差异性,划分了煤矿充填开采“保护生态环境优先、保护地面建筑优先、处理煤矸固废优先、提高经济效益优先”4类优先原则,提出了“以充填开采作为煤矿保护生态环境的调节工具,建设全过程全息立体生态矿山”的生态开采目标。依据充填开采顶板限定变形力学模型,阐述了影响充填开采目标岩层下沉量的构成因素,构建了生态环境保护、地面建筑保护、矸石固废处置3种充填工程模式下的工作面支护强度计算及覆岩变形控制方程。介绍了我国煤矿普适性充填采煤技术发展现状及发展方向,涵盖散状原矸固体充填、类贫混凝改性充填、矸石混凝土充填、薄煤层充填、区域性保护充填、巷道充填、选充留协同等适应各类煤矿需求的充填采煤技术,详细描述了不同充填技术的材料制备、运输、充填工艺特点及适应性充填装备。为实现煤矿充填智能化,建立了全面的数据感知系统,通过空间规划及充填效果判定来实现从单元到整体充填工作面的智能化过程,结合传感器网络和人工智能算法,实时监测和控制煤矿固体充填过程,提高充填质量和充填效率。煤矿充填开采在我国绿色矿山建设的远景规划中将扮演更加重要的角色,加强基于主动充填的煤矿生产全过程生态矿山建设、普适性充填技术工艺体系构建、新型固体充填材料研制、智能化充填开采研发等4个方向的科技攻关,我国煤矿充填开采会有极为广阔的发展前景。
