Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is the most common neurodegenerative disorder characterized by slow and progressive decline of cognitive and memory *** only approximately 5%of the cases,AD is familial,as often predisposed by genetic mutations(Hoogmartens et al.,2021),while sporadic AD accounts for approximately 95%of the *** amyloid cascade hypothesis is one of the fundamental hypotheses put out to explain AD pathogenesis as dysregulated homeostasis of amyloid-β(Aβ)peptides that leads to the accumulation of Aβplaques in the parenchyma,an anatomical hallmark of AD.

γ-secretase,called“the proteasome of the membrane,”is a membrane-embedded protease complex that cleaves 150+peptide substrates with central roles in biology and medicine,including amyloid precursor protein and the Notch family of cell-surface *** inγ-secretase and amyloid precursor protein lead to early-onset familial Alzheimer’s disease.γ-secretase has thus served as a critical drug target for treating familial Alzheimer’s disease and the more common late-onset Alzheimer’s disease as ***,critical gaps remain in understanding the mechanisms of processive proteolysis of substrates,the effects of familial Alzheimer’s disease mutations,and allosteric modulation of substrate cleavage byγ-*** this review,we focus on recent studies of structural dynamic mechanisms ofγ-*** mechanisms,including the“Fit-stay-Trim,”“sliding-Unwinding,”and“Tilting-Unwinding,”have been proposed for substrate proteolysis of amyloid precursor protein byγ-secretase based on all-atom molecular dynamics *** an incorrect registry of the Notch1 substrate was identified in the cryo-electron microscopy structure of Notch1-boundγ-secretase,molecular dynamics simulations on a resolved model of Notch1-boundγ-secretase that was reconstructed using the amyloid precursor protein-boundγ-secretase as a template successfully capturedγ-secretase activation for proper cleavages of both wildtype and mutant Notch,being consistent with biochemical experimental *** approach could be potentially applied to decipher the processing mechanisms of various substrates byγ-*** addition,controversy over the effects of familial Alzheimer’s disease mutations,particularly the issue of whether they stabilize or destabilizeγ-secretase-substrate complexes,is ***,an outlook is provided for future studies ofγ-secretase,including pathways of substrate binding and product release,effects of modulators on familial Alzheimer’s disease mutations

The present study investigated the long-term change in the interannual relationship between the boreal winter Arctic Oscillation(ao)and tropical Indian Ocean(TIO)climate during 1979-2019 and found that their linkage experienced a decadal change in 2001/*** 19-yr sliding correlation coefficient between the January-February-March(JFM)ao index and central TIO(0-10°s,65°-80°E)precipitation was significant,with values of approximately 0.50-0.75 during 1979-2001,but abruptly decreased to 0.35 in 2002 and 0.10 in ***,the spatial patterns of the ao-related atmospheric circulation anomalies also displayed different features before and after *** 2002-2019,the anomalous anticyclone in the middle troposphere over the Arabian sea moved northwestward and strengthened,and the JFM ao was more closely correlated to the anticyclone,with correlation coefficient changed from-0.38 before 2001 to-0.63 after 2001;correspondingly,strong cross-equator air flows were observed over the western TIO(40°-50°E),but no significant anomalies of precipitation in the central TIO were *** 1979-2001,however,significant southward cross-equator air flows appeared over the central TIO(65°-75°E),which enhanced the intertropical convergence zone and upward air motions,leading to more precipitation in central *** analysis shows that the ao may modulate the Arabian anticyclone through two Rossby wave paths in the upper troposphere:a midlatitude(50°-60°N)path during 1979-2001 from North Atlantic southeastward to the Middle East and the neighboring Arabian sea;and a subtropical(20°-30°N)path during 2002-2019 from North Atlantic eastward to the Middle East and Arabian *** wave activity fluxes induced by ao were concentrated along the two paths before and after 2001,and the location of the cross-equator flows depends on the location of the *** of the decadal changes in the ao-associated wave trains need further investigation.

We in this paper examine warranty strategy in a two-stage supply chain consisting of a manufacturer and two competing retailers. The manufacturer produces two substitute products and markets them through the two retailers to a group of consumers, respectively. For each type of products, the manufacRtrer＇s base warranty and a retailer＇s extended warranty are bundled with the product. We use game theoretic models to explore the interactions between the two types of warranties and the competition between the retailers. For this purpose, two scenarios are considered： no retailer and both the two retailers providing the extended warranties, respectively. In each scenario, the manufacturer＇s base warranties are assumed to be offered. Our results show that when the retailers offer their extended warranties, the manufacturer has no incentive to offer the base warranties; otherwise, the manufacturer has to provide the base warranties. The competition between retailers in terms of the product substitutability has no impact on warranty decisions, but affects all players＇ profits in the supply chain. The manufacturer can provide a longer warranty length and higher customer welfare to a customer than the retailers do, if it is more efficient than the retailers in warranty cost-efficiency, and vice versa.

Bifunctional oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)electrocatalysts with the advantages of excellent activity and stability are the vital components of air cathodes for rechargeable Zn–air batteries(ZABs).Herein,the carbon aerogel with honeycomb-like structure,N and s double doping and loaded with FeCo alloy nanoparticles(NsCA/FeCo)was prepared successfully as cathodes for rechargeable liquid flow and two-dimensional flexible ZABs by clever directional *** interaction between the bimetallic alloy and the double-doped carbon with specifical structure,large surface,great conductivity endows NsCA/FeCo with effective ORR/OER active sites and small charge/mass transport barrier,thus achieving outstanding bifunctional catalytic *** NsCA/FeCo displays a half-wave potential of+0.85 V(*** hydrogen electrode(RHE))for ORR and an overpotential of 335 mV at a current density of 10 mA·cm^(−2)for OER,which is even comparable to the performance of noble-metal catalysts in relevant fields(Pt/C for ORR and RuO_(2)for OER).Consequently,the rechargeable liquid flow ZABs assembled with NsCA/FeCo showed excellent performance(maximum power density:132.0 mW·cm^(−2),specific capacity:804.5 Wh·kg^(−1)at 10 mA·cm^(−2),charge and discharge cycle stability of more than 250 cycles).Furthermore,the flexible NsCA/FeCo-based ZABs have a maximum power density of 43.0 mW·cm^(−2),outstanding charging–discharge stability of more than 450 cycles,exhibit good flexibility under different bending ***,this work has provided an efficient bifunctional electrocatalyst for OER/ORR and a promising strategy of air cathodes for rechargeable and wearable ZABs.

Blue light-emitting polyfluorenes containing dibenzothiophene-s,s-dioxide(sO) unit in alkyl side chain(PF-FsOs and PF-CzsOs) were synthesized. All the polymers show high thermal stability with the decomposition temperatures over400 °C. The highest occupied molecular orbital(HOMO) and the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital(LUMO) energy levels of the copolymer slightly decrease with the increase of sO content in side chain. PL spectra of the polymers show slightly red shift and broadening with the increase of solvent polarities, indicating unremarkable intramolecular charge transfer(ICT) effect in the polymers containing sO unit in alkyl side chain. EL spectra of the polymers are almost unchanged in the current densities from 100 to 400 mA cm.2, indicating the superb EL stability of the resulted polymers. The EL spectra of the copolymers exhibit obvious blue-shift and narrowing with the CIE of(0.18, 0.11) for PF-FsO10 and(0.17, 0.11) for PF-CzsO10, respectively,compared with PF-sO10 containing sO unit in main chain with the CIE of(0.16, 0.17) and PFO with the CIE of(0.18, 0.18).The superior device performances were obtained with the luminous efficiency(LEmax) of 1.17 and 0.68 cd A.1 for PF-FsO15 and PF-CzsO20, respectively, compared with the LEmax of 0.37 cd A.1 for PFO. The results indicate that linking sO unit to alkyl side chain of the polyfluorene is a promising strategy for efficient blue light-emitting polymers.
