Improved catalytic performance of CO_(2) electrochemical reduction reaction towards ethanol on chlorine-modified Cu-based electrocatalyst

Effective electrochemical conversion of CO_(2) to value-added liquid multi-carbon products driven by renewable energy is a promising approach to alleviate excessive CO_(2) emission and achieve large-scale renewable energy storage.However,the selectivity and catalytic activity towards liquid multi-carbon products of CO_(2) electroreduction reaction are still unsatisfactory due to the sluggish C-C coupling process and the formation of complex oxygen-containing intermediates.Hence,designing and fabricating highly effective electrocatalysts is crucial for practical applications in this field.Here,we developed Cl-modified Cu catalyst(Cu-Cl)for efficient electrochemical reduction of CO_(2) to ethanol.The optimal Faradaic efficiency and partial current density of ethanol on the Cu-Cl sample reached 26.2%and 343.2 mA·cm^(-2) at-0.74 V(vs.reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE)),which were 1.66 and 1.76 times higher than those of the catalyst without Cl decoration,outperforming those in most previously reported works.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations revealed that the Cl-modified Cu surface suppressed the parasitic hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and reduced the energy barrier for the C-C coupling process,making the formation of key intermediates favorable for ethanol production.Thus,the decoration of Cl on the Cu surface facilitated ethanol formation.

This study aimed to explore the link between block copolymers’interfacial properties and nanoscale carrier formation and found out the influence of length ratio on these characters to optimize drug delivery system.A library of diblock copolymers of PEG-PCL and triblock copolymers with additional PEI(PEG-PCL-PEI)were synthesized.Subsequently,a systematic isothermal investigation was performed to explore molecular arrangements of copolymers at air/water interface.Then,structural properties and drug encapsulation in self-assembly were investigated with DLS,SLS and TEM.We found the additional hydrogen bond in the PEG-PCL-PEI contributes to film stability upon the hydrophobic interaction compared with PEG-PCL.PEG-PCL-PEI assemble into smaller micelle-like(such as PEGPCL4006-PEI)or particle-like structure(such as PEG-PCL8636-PEI)determined by their hydrophilic and hydrophobic block ratio.The distinct structural architectures of copolymer are consistent between interface and self-assembly.Despite the disparity of constituent ratio,we discovered the arrangement of both chains guarantees balanced hydrophilic-hydrophobic ratio in self-assembly to form stable construction.Meanwhile,the structural differences were found to have significant influence on model drugs incorporation including docetaxel and siRNA.Taken together,these findings indicate the correlation between molecular arrangement and self-assembly and inspire us to tune block compositions to achieve desired nanostructure and drug loading.

The massive amount and multi-sourced,multi-structured data in the upstream petroleum industry impose great challenge on data integration and smart application.Knowledge graph,as an emerging technology,can potentially provide a way to tackle the challenges associated with oil and gas big data.This paper proposes an engineering-based method that can improve upon traditional natural language processing to construct the domain knowledge graph based on a petroleum exploration and development ontology.The exploration and development knowledge graph is constructed by assembling Sinopec’s multi-sourced heterogeneous database,and millions of nodes.The two applications based on the constructed knowledge graph are developed and validated for effectiveness and advantages in providing better knowledge services for the oil and gas industry.

This study aimed at evaluating the possibility and effectiveness of osteoinductive bioceramics to fill the tumor cavity following the curettage of sacral giant cell tumor(GCT).Six patients(four females and two males,25–45 years old)underwent nervesparing surgery,in which the tumor was treated by denosumab,preoperative arterial embolization and extensive curettage.The remaining cavity was filled with commercial osteoinductive calcium phosphate(CaP)bioceramics,whose excellent osteoinductivity was confirmed by intramuscular implantation in beagle canine.All patients were followed by computed tomography(CT)scans postoperatively.According to the modified Neer criterion,five cases obtained Type I healing status,and one case had Type II.At the latest follow-up,no graft-related complications and local recurrence were found.The CT scan indicated a median time of healing initiation of 3months postoperatively,and the median time for relatively complete healing was 12months.The excellent bone regenerative ability of the ceramics was also confirmed by increased CT attenuation value,blurred boundary and cortical rim rebuilding.In conclusion,osteoinductive CaP bioceramics could be an ideal biomaterial to treat the large remaining cavity following extensive curettage of sacral GCT.However,further investigation with more cases and longer follow-up was required to confirm the final clinical effect.

Silicosis is a leading cause of occupational disease-related morbidity and mortality worldwide,but the molecular basis underlying its development remains unclear.An accumulating body of evidence supports gasdermin D(GSDMD)-mediated pyroptosis as a key component in the development of various pulmonary diseases.However,there is little experimental evidence connecting silicosis and GSDMD-driven pyroptosis.In this work,we investigated the role of GSDMD-mediated pyroptosis in silicosis.Single-cell RNA sequencing of healthy and silicosis human and murine lung tissues indicated that GSDMD-induced pyroptosis in macrophages was relevant to silicosis progression.Through microscopy we then observed morphological alterations of pyroptosis in macrophages treated with silica.Measurement of interleukin-1βrelease,lactic dehydrogenase activity,and real-time propidium iodide staining further revealed that silica induced pyroptosis of macrophages.Additionally,we verified that both canonical(caspase-1-mediated)and non-canonical(caspase-4/5/11-mediated)signaling pathways mediated silica-induced pyroptosis activation,in vivo and in vitro.Notably,Gsdmd knockout mice exhibited dramatically alleviated silicosis phenotypes,which highlighted the pivotal role of pyroptosis in this disease.Taken together,our results demonstrated that macrophages underwent GSDMD-dependent pyroptosis in silicosis and inhibition of this process could serve as a viable clinical strategy for mitigating silicosis.

The custom-tailored medicine requires a developmental strategy that integrates excellent osteogene-sis with mechanical stability to enhance the reconstruction of the critical-size bone defect(CSBD)and the healing process in weight-bearing bone.We prepared three-dimensional(3D)printed biphasic cal-cium phosphate(BCP)scaffolds composited with nano-graphene oxide(GO).The biological effects of the GO/BCP composite scaffolds could induce the differentiation of rat bone marrow stem cells(BM-SCs)and the migration of human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs)for bone repair.The proper ratio of GO in the composite scaffold regulated the composites’surface roughness and hydrophilicity to a suitable range for the adhesion and proliferation of BMSCs and HUVECs.Besides,the GO/BCP composite scaffold increased osteogenesis and angiogenesis by activating BMP-2,RUNX-2,Smad1/4,and VEGF.The customized intramedullary nail combined with GO/BCP scaffold was applied to repair CSBD(2.0 cm in length)in a beagle femur model.This fixation strategy was confirmed by finite element analysis.In vivo,the results indicated that the custom-made internal fixation provided sufficient stability in the early stage,ensuring bone healing in a considerable mechanical environment.At 9 months postoperatively,longitudi-nal bony union and blood vessels in osteon were observed in the CSBD area with partial degradation in the 0.3%GO/BCP group.In the three-point bending test,the ultimate load of 0.3%GO/BCP group reached over 50%of the normal femur at 9 months after repair.These results showed a promising application of osteogenic GO/BCP scaffold and custom-made intramedullary nails in repairing CSBD of the beagle femur.This effective strategy could provide an option to treat the clinical CSBD in weight-bearing bones.

Emergence of new hardware,including persistent memory and smart network interface card(SmartNIC),has brought new opportunities to file system design.In this paper,we design and implement a new file system named NICFS based on persistent memory and SmartNIC.We divide the file system into two parts:the front end and the back end.In the front end,data writes are appended to the persistent memory in a log-structured way,leveraging the fast persistence advantage of persistent memory.In the back end,the data in logs are fetched,processed,and patched to files in the background,leveraging the processing capacity of SmartNIC.Evaluation results show that NICFS outperforms Ext4 by about 21%/10%and about 19%/50%on large and small reads/writes,respectively.

为了提高铜和石墨烯之间的界面结合强度,采用化学镀的方法使石墨烯表面均匀包裹纳米铜颗粒,然后利用粉末冶金工艺制备铜/石墨烯块体复合材料。本文研究了石墨烯含量对复合材料硬度和致密度的影响,并通过HSR-2M高速往复摩擦磨损试验机研究了铜/石墨烯块体复合材料的摩擦磨损性能。结果表明:石墨烯的加入对铜/石墨烯块体复合材料的硬度有显著的提高,但致密度随石墨烯含量的增加而降低,块体复合材料的摩擦系数和磨损率均低于未增强的纯铜。
